I just have to say this was the best towing service I have ever used! They were recommended by my insurance company, GEICO. I I am from Florida and was stranded in Valdosta on Christmas and needed a tow to the nearest auto repair shop the following day. I was not present at the time of the tow but the gentleman who picked up my car was the kindest and most communicative person. He called when he was on his way, when he was pulling up to my car, and when the car was on the lift. He made sure to verify all my information, including the address the tow was going to just in case GEICO had it incorrect. He made me feel at ease and comfortable during a very stressful time.
I wish I lived closer in case I ever needed a tow in Valdosta again!
This company was contacted by the police officer that responded to the scene. The tow truck driver walked past me several times while I was trying to get his attention. I was specific about my need for the car to be towed out of town when I some to the officer. Once my car was loaded the driver finally responded when I spoke to him. He stated that it would be towed to a “yard”. This would leave me standing in a parking lot 3 hours from home and it raining. I asked the driver to leave my car I would find another company. He began cussing and said, “not unless you pay me $50”. This has been a nightmare. I found another company that is coming to get my vehicle and also get me to a place that is safe to wait 3 hours on family. I would caution anyone to stay away from this company!!! Thank Goodness people have options in this town!!!! Do not choose this company…
State Farm Insurance recommended this company .Justin was the tow truck operator that helped me with my car troubles. The company was very quick to call me to verify what type of help I needed. Justin arrived in a timely manner especially since it was a Sunday afternoon. He was knowledgeable in handling my vehicle and of the area. Justin was very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend them again. In comparison to other tow companies over the last 5 years, Justin and Cates Wrecker Service has been the absolute best!
I am stranded with a flat tire and my insurance company contrates Cates to come out and fix my car. When they called I told them my car had been lowered and would require a floor jack. They "didn't feel comfortable" changing my tire because my car is low to the ground. Is this a wrecker company or not? What a joke of a business
Got a nail in a tire that went flat. Used my road service to get it changed. The the service man had a really bad attitude. It was around 1030 pm and all he could do was complain about how much work he had to do to get the spare from under the old truck.. he got it done but I had put up with the harsh attitude.
My vehicle was towed to Cates after a small accident on I-75. Lori and the long haired hippie looking Woodstock era gentleman are rude beyond rude. Wouldn't tell the Safelite windshield technician where the car was located. I drove 2.5 hours from Columbus. I asked to use the bathroom and was told no. Bad attitude all around. Kind of guy you want to smack in the mouth. Do not use this business for any reason. 20 years in the military. It took all I had to refrain. FTP!!
Sitting here currently waiting for them to open so I can get my daughters car out of this place. They are supposed to be open at 9 am. It’s currently 9:35 am. I’ve called twice and both times she was supposedly on her way…this makes no sense. Then when they pull up. The guy has a very nasty attitude…10/10 do NOT RECOMMEND
Justin is amazing! He's towed my car twice & it's been stress free both times. He's very fast & efficient, while having a sense of humor while he's at it. Awesome customer service. I would 10/10 recommend this tow company!
My insurance company contacted Cates wrecker service because I locked my keys in my truck. Driver calls me 10 times back to back and seems angry when he loudly knocks on my door at midnight. He tells me I’m lucky that he stopped by. I waited 45 minutes for him and I come outside while he’s attempting to open my truck door in 30 degree weather. We stand out there for 15 mins and then he tells me he can’t get it open. Apparently because of faulty equipment. My first experience with this company with definitely be my last. Definitely would not recommend.
Justin, the driver, was great. He got to me relatively quickly and was courteous and professional. He made my son laugh regardless of our mini crisis and got my car safely back on the road. Not that I ever wish to need a tow truck again, but if I do, I would be happy knowing this company has my back. Thanks again Justin!
Justin was very friendly, funny, & professional. He was on time. He figured out that my car needed a battery reset & it was an easy fix! I am so thankful that he helped solve my car problem in 40 degree weather. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! Don’t listen to the bad reviews.
My car shut off in the middle of traffic in a turning lane and Cates was quick about getting it off the road and to a place to work things out. The driver, Justin, was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. He used up a good bit of his time sticking with me and making sure everything was good to go before leaving (sorry!). I would recommend this place if you're calling for road side assistance. Much thanks to Justin!
Awesome service! The tow truck arrived within 20 minutes. The driver was helpful and had sound mechanical knowledge, able to get my car running again within minutes without need for a tow!

I’ve had two things happen to my car and my roadside assistance always chose Cates. I think they’re amazing and Justin is the awesome! He’s very friendly and he makes the job entertaining. He’s towed my car twice and I honestly wouldn’t go to anyone else!
I didn’t utilize this towing company myself but witnessed the driver of the wrecker get a car unlocked for an elderly woman who had locked herself out. Both the Cates driver and the officer that came out showed such compassion and if I ever find myself in need of service, I’d definitely call Cates!
My car wouldn’t start. I assumed it was a starter problem, not a battery issue, as my headlights, dome light, and dashboard were all lit up, and my radio worked. I called my emergency roadside assistance, who sent out Cates.
The driver said it was my battery, and was able to jump me off and get me back on the road again. He was quick, courteous and knowledgeable, and got me home on a Sunday evening. Thank you!
Thank Cates for prompt, courteous service NYE 2015. DriverJustin was friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Helped find motel that would take 3 dogs. He remained calm, even though he had to tow car to 3 different places. Dispatcher was helpful and kind too. Highly recommend!
The most unprofessional, rude customer service experience I have had to date. I have used this wrecker service more than once (insurance provided), and they have cursed at me, thrown my things, shown no care for my car, and even left me on the side of the road. This driver of the tow truck and the receptionist are clearly both unhappy with their lives. The most recent time i used the service, instead of taking the key to my car inside the auto shop, the driver put it in my car and turned the key to the "on" position, i'm assuming to intentionally run down my battery. Please, if you have any choice, do not use Cates.
If you need towing or roadside service I would pick someone else. Here is one reason why:
The first thing the tech said when I came out to greet him was "I've been waiting out here for a while." He never came to the door, I guess I was supposed to be waiting outside for him to show up as to not waste his time with my service call. Then he continued to lecture me on how to properly jack up a car to change a tire. He told me 3 times I need to put the parking break on. "Thanks for the lecture, can you please fix my car now?" is all I was thinking. He then wanted me to sign some waiver stating that if he messed anything up while doing the repair he would not be liable. That makes no sense to me, why would I sign something like that? They are the professional, why would I be held liable for a "professional" not doing his job correctly? After I told him I wasn't going to sign the waiver he walked away saying my insurance will send someone else to do the job. Sorry for being such an inconvenience Cates Auto Collision.
My car was towed a while back. I didn't have time to get anything out of my car that I needed before he had it loaded up and was driving away. Went up the next day to see if I could get the keys to my old job and some other personal items. The female working was very sweet and was willing to let me retrieve them. The man that was working was very rude, disrespectful and severely unprofessional. He was loud and being obnoxious all for me asking if I could get some things out of my car and they could keep the vehicle (it had problems). I'd never have dealings with them ever again.
I've used Cates Wrecker about half a dozen times due to an unreliable vehicle. The service is extremely affordable for in-town towing, and their driver Justin has always been prompt and helpful. Highly recomended.
I have had issues with my car for as long as I been living here. Everytime something is wrong, Justin gets me all the way right with his quality of service and charismatic personality. I dread if I ever have to deal with another tow guy
I'm a first year college student who had to get her car jumpstsrted for the first time without a parent physically present. I was on edge by being early for an appt. that wasn't even dispatched and having to walk a long distance from my dorm to the parking deck for my car. I went back and forth several times due to miscommunication, and the Cates receptionist wasn't the most understanding or relatable person in the world. She would probably argue over the most trivial mistakes, but Justin knew how to treat a customer despite having to wake up early in the morning and deal with a number of customers before me in my emotional state. We all have problems, and that's life. We all have to learn how to put them aside for the sake of others, sadly but true.
We have had to use this company a couple times through our insurance and we always set an appointment time and was given 1-1.5 hours, which isnt bad, over 2+ hours later we keep getting told we are next and in and its excuse after excuse with almost no communcation from the company until you bug them about it. The same thing happened with my mother in law where she waited over 2.5 hours. The lady who answers the phone is nice but its a little frustrating that now we have had to take time off of work and push back appointsments because a company cannot stick to a quoted time
Had a great experience with this towing company. Went far and beyond to help me with my flat. Would recommend anyone to use them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again

My roadside assistance from GEICO uses this company...they cancelled my call after I sat there and hour waiting ...When I called to see if they were coming after said time they would arrive....I CALLED TO SEE WHEN ARRIVING as I was stuck on dirt road flat tire .lady said they cancelled the call they Couldn't come change my tire..
EXCUSE...get this .. ITS A DODGE 2500...LIKE THE TRUCK IS TOO BIG FOR THEM TO Change A TIRE...it's not a jacked up truck standard tires from factory....they can't change a 2500 Dodge tire...unreal...
