Well managed by Georgia DNR. The road is a forest access road and 4x4 vehicles with high ground clearance I would certainly recommend. No electric, water or restrooms. Not fires are permitted March 28th through to September.

Hiked through here 3/27/2023… it was so beautiful on a crisp April morning with fog rolling around and the streams flowing. I wonder how much has changed. Can’t wait to go back and visit someday

Other than not understanding why some nice flat areas by the creek with rock fire rings have signs that say "no camping", we really enjoyed how spaced out the sites were and we didn't see any trash at the sites we occupied. All fire rings are just rock, no picnic tables. Hike to long creek falls is nice, 2 mile out and back. We will be back!

Great spot for camping and hiking. Long drive on the service roads though so be prepared for that. Like 8 miles or so.

This is a popular spot for day hikers and section hikers since you can park within walking distance of camp sites on the trail. It doesn't exactly get "crowded" except during peak season for through hikers. Go during the week to avoid big groups. I went last Saturday and there were cars for 1/4 mile parked down the road. Oh! The falls are also nice. I believe it takes less than 30mins to get there from here and it's easy enough for children.

Fantastic primitive sites; ideal for car camping. The Forest Road is a little rough, but manageable even in a sedan. My only complaint is the amount of trash at the site; I spent a few hours picking up junk left by previous campers. Please remember the most basic Leave No Trace principle, and pack everything out.

Beautiful area. Three creeks coming together in the mountains. You can access a few different hiking trails here.

Love this camping area. Very rustic, so don't expect any facilities. Awesome being right by the creek though and so close to so many trails. Great place to take the mountain bikes or do some fishing. Miss it already...

If your car can make it up this road and you can secure a spot to camp, you're gonna have a good time. The road is a but challenging for typical vehicles like sedans because it is very uneven in several places. The campgrounds are all next to the creek running through the area so the ambience is very nice to relax in!

This is one of my favorite places to camp. There are a few good hiking options for getting here and you can also drive via forrest service roads. The waterfall near the Benton McKay trail one mile north is very cool. Plenty of tent sites and and endless supply of water.

One of the most scenic parts early in the AT and BMT. Springer Mountain is 4 miles to the south and Long Creek Falls about a mile to the north. Great jumping off point for day hikes

Not exactly a "parking" area... just pull off to the side of the dirt road. Fairly busy on a clear and pretty day and the road from the north is easier than from the south... long dirt road either way. One side is good for going to Springer Mtn(~5mi- southern terminus of the A.T.), the other for Long Creek Falls (~1mi) and the rest of the A.T.

No cell service past the church off the dirt road. Absolutely amazing spots all along the river to camp, 1 mile to the falls off the A.T. 3.5 to Springer mtn access. Please clean up your mess if you are camping!

Parking along the side of the road, unprotected. No facilities of any kind. There are several flat areas near by for wilderness camping. Positive: it brings you into the heart of the Chattahoochee forest.

Awesome relaxing/calm camp grounds. Only a 4 mile hike from Springer Mountain. The camp sites are all near the streams with plenty of room to spread out. The access road makes it possible to drive in (takes about 40-60 minutes from the main road depending on your route). A mile North on the trail is a beautiful waterfall.

Nice campsite on the river 4.3 miles from the start of the Appalachian Trail. Accessible by car which can make it busy in weekends.

This place was very little known back in the 70's and 80's. The place where 3 streams come together at the A.T. I Camped here many times as a child, fished in the waters for trout, and hiked to Springer Mtn., Long's Falls, Hawk Mtn., etc. Nowadays the area is over run with people parking on the road for a day hike. The trophy Trout stream is overfished, but the Noontootla has a rare beauty like none other. I still remember floating on old truck inner tubes from the cabin down to Double Head Gap road bridge, walking back through the pastures picking blackberries, crossing on old footlog bridge upstream at Kirby's place, then along Charley Hillhouse's field of sweet corn next to our cabin. Those were the days!!
