We’re fortunate to have this expert, friendly and reasonably priced automotive repair service right in middle of Dunwoody (beside Publix).
Over the years, they’ve done a wide variety of repairs to our cars as well as routine maintenance and emission inspections, and have never tried to add on work that didn’t need to be done.
On this recent job, they talked us through what we needed to do ourselves when our car’s alarm system went haywire in a parking lot.
It’s nice to deal with folks that you get to know and trust rather than a different stranger each time you take your car for service.

These folks are the best. Showed up before the Thanksgiving holiday with a check engine light on, and not only do they get me in same day (and closing early for Thanksgiving), they give me a loaner car and get the job done. I won't take my car anywhere else!
Dan and Jay are the most honest, fairly priced, and dependable mechanics around. We've been bringing our entire family's cars here for many years, and are customers for life. They are always very thorough with any odd car problems we have, and many times have solved mysteries or fixed up our cars when other places couldn't figure out the issue. Truly the best there is!!
The service here is amazing! I just moved to town and have been looking for a good place to go for all things auto, and I’ve definitely found it. It was super easy to schedule an appointment. I brought my car in because of a rattling noise, and the guys diagnosed and fixed the issue within the day. The people at this shop are fair and honest folks. I highly recommend this shop.

Jay and his team have the knowledge and experience to get the keep your cars on the road. They are only open traditional business hours, but that helps them attract and retain the best team to get the job done right.
The only guys that touch my car! They will work *with* you to help take care of your vehicle and never take the short cut of taking you for everything you got and I say that as a woman who knows absolutely nothing about car but has never believed filters need to be changed nearly as often as the other places insist.
I needed to replace my wiper blades. I came by at 10am, Jay had the correct sizes delivered, and I returned at Noon to have them installed in 5 minutes. Outstanding service, even on the small jobs.
Best place to take your car in Atlanta, period! Jay and Dan are true professionals and will go above and beyond every time! They are so kind and honest and have even lowered my bill a few times because “it didn’t take as long as we thought it would, so your labor cost is a lot lower!”

Great place for service! They allowed my car to be towed there after hours, and they got my car running again! We did end up having to make an extra trip there for pickup, and auto repairs are always too expensive, but it just doesn't seem to be away around that. I would recommend this shop! Incredibly slow service. Went for an emissions test and assumed that only one car ahead of me wouldn’t take long but boy was I wrong. The person doing the emissions wouldn’t stay on the task for more than 30 seconds at a time. It took 15 minutes for them to do my car alone. This is the longest I’ve ever waited for an emissions test, and the sad part is that it wasn’t even waiting in a line.
Dan is the man! I always take my BMW here for emissions and when the air in my tires get low. They are always fast, friendly, and efficient. What more could you ask for?
Been taking our cars here for the past 10+ years. They will give you honest opinions on repairs that need to be done vs what you can wait on. Just had my car, Honda with 62,000 miles, in for oil change, new battery, and fix something scraping underneath- which turned out to be simple fix. Call ahead to see how busy they are. Highly recommend for car repairs or second opinions.
Josh is an awesome person, i barged in with a broke down car up the parking lot and josh came up the hill and tried every method possible but still no cigar sadly. He really went out of his way for me and i really appreciate it. he is a very genuine person and i'd leave him 6 stars for his kindness if possible
I have not yet had any major mechanical work performed here, so I cannot comment on the crew's skills, but with the few minor tasks I've needed completed, customer service has been terrible, every visit. I usually sit in my car 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledges me; once I had to get out of my car to approach a mechanic lazily sitting in a chair, paying no attention to the cars lined up outside his garage. Even if a busy mechanic sees my car, he makes no effort to notify another mechanic who might be available.
The parking situation is cramped in the small lot, and, because no staff member bothers to direct traffic, customers are often confused about where their cars should wait in line for next available service without spilling out onto the adjacent thoroughfare or blocking exiting cars.
I have been a customer there for many years. They did good work and was always courteous . I would have given a 5 star for the shop if I didn't run into a problem with the latest service there. I spent over $1,700 for A/C repairs and expected good results. However, the A/C system broke down within 24 hours. I have to return the HOT car to the shop again. In any case, I do still have confidence in them and think this problem I ran into was an exception.
I have been going to Dunwoody Automotive for 14 years and trust the Baileys and staff completely. They are the last of the Mom and Pop repair shops. Dan and Josh always go the extra mile for me whether it’s to remove a nail or a major repair. They always advise me of safe driving needs such as new tires and provide those at a reasonable price.
This should be everyone’s go-to shop for repairs.
I recently took in my ‘98 Saturn to get serviced because it was overheating. I always appreciate how the price they quote you before they fix anything is exactly what you’ll be paying when it’s done. There were no surprise charges, and they don’t try to sell you additional services that aren’t necessary. Jay’s a great guy to work with.
I brought an older vehicle to Dunwoody Automotive Group because the check engine light was on and the battery was weak. The tech ran diagnostics and gave me a quote for well over $1,000 which I approved. A few hours later he called back to say that one of the big repairs (over $700) that he had quoted me turned out not to be necessary. The total repair cost was about half of what was originally quoted. The car runs great and I really appreciate the owner's honesty. Highly recommended.
Dunwoody Automotive was great! I went in with the tiniest repair ever—I needed to change my license plates and I couldn’t get one of the screws out! They helped me right away and were able to get the screw out. Even put my new plates on for me and didn’t charge a thing. So nice and helpful! Definitely will go to them with my next car repair need!
Loved this place when it was Volvo repair, but it has gone downhill since combining with the other shop. Made an appointment to bring car in for a pre-trip all-around check, oil change, and issue with the starter. 8 hours later without any communication from them, I came back and the oil change was done, but got 3 different stories on what else had or had not been checked on the car. They didn't run a diagnostic on the check engine light "because I didn't specifically ask" for that and they didn't have an answer on the starter issue bc they weren't sure how much I wanted to know. (wait, what?!) So a $200 oil change later and I still have to bring my car to another shop to get answers and get the car fixed. What a bummer. No longer the knowledgable, trustworthy shop it once was.
Excellent service when I had a nail in my tire and needed to find someplace that would help quickly. Josh was quick and very professional in getting me back on the road in a very short amount of time.
