  Southern Metals Recycling I have used them twice I don't know alot about scrap metal and prices but I always feel like they give me a fair price for my scrap. Employees very friendly and do not mind giving you a helping hand. I will only use this company.

  I don’t advise women taking stuff here by yourself. I’ve never had a issue in the past but I’ve always had my husband go with me. I went by myself with my kids today to drop off a load and was shorted quite largely. I had a big bin of old steel car part, and wrought iron chair and a bent up tin Christmas snow man. They misweighed it and only marked down I had brought tin. Said I only bad 31 pounds of metal. When I could barely lift the bin that had at least 50+ pounds in it. I had 4 men laugh and walk off so I just left and cashed out because I wasn’t approaching that situation with my kids with me by myself.

  This was the only spot I used to go to till last time I was there I brought 53 pounds of copper in and they told me I had 31 pounds. I weighed it on 2 different scales before I came. I told them and they all just looked at eachother. I gave them the benefit of the doubt till today i went to bring copper to fortune recycling weighed it before hand it was 20 lbs and they paid me for 20 lbs. will not be going to southern metals again and I don’t suggest anyone else too either unless you wanna get ripped off

  This place was great as soon as I showed up the crew promptly unloaded my truck for me which was a nice surprise. They paid me a good price for my scrap handled all of the heavy lifting and got me out the door quickly with a check. I will definitely be bringing my scrap here to sell from now on.

  Do not show up at 4:25, the clock at the gate will say 4:30 and they will not let you in. I had a large trailer with several tons of scrap steel on it and had to take it back home. I won't be using this place again. They were very rude about the whole thing. To clarify after the owners rebuttal, I called before arrival and was told I would be allowed to enter as long as I showed up before 4:30. If the owners do not want customers arriving that close to closing then that needs to be posted and the employees need to express this when someone calls to inquire.

  I've used every other yard around and a friend told me about SMR so I gave it a try....I've never been treated so nicely by every employee at any company. The people are so nice and helpful as oppose to other yards where they just want to hurry and get you in and out. Thank you to all of you at SMR for making my to do feel valued

  I started taking scrap to southern metals recycling at a fair market scrap rate. I stopped paying attention what scrap rate they were issuing because I thought they would treat me fair.... big mistake. They were giving me half the value of scrap when i would take it to their scrap yard. When I told about the discrepancy, they set up a meeting. They came in with no solutions and told me they were not going to do anything for me. I would not deal with this scrap yard, there are plenty in town.

  So copper is valued at 3.29 per pound but they are only offering $1.52 per pound? Also 2 years ago when value was around 2.5 they gave me $2 per pound! That's not right! Looks like you are getting really greedy!
