I am in the process of having my vehicle towed. Spoke to a guy named Joseph on the phone. For a Monday morning tow call he was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. Thanks for the help!
The actual tow truck driver was a really nice guy. But the Hispanic guy who works the phone in the office is horrible. He will charge the highest possible rates then add on every extra fee they can. All they want is your money they don’t care about helping you. Then they only want to be paid in cash which seems suspicious to me. I won’t ever use this tow company in the future, look elsewhere before choosing them.
Absolute robbery. left the car for 10 mins came back found it towed and paid $350 for 10 minutes. A company that would do anything to get some green bills from you . Bad communication. Rude.
Terrible business practice. Heaven forbid you get into an accident and they call this company to tow you. The tow is $80. But, they charge another $125 to use the wench to pull it in yo the flat bed. Another $115 to electronically pull your insurance, which was on the police report and they NEVER asked me for, which I gladly would have provided. Gets better, when you go there to pay, they charge another 6% if using a card. I happened to notice a ATM, which they never offered, asked if I could use it, and pulled out cash to pay versus giving them another dime!
They do NOT follow, practice or post towing fees per Florida statute, not by signage where they tow from, on their trucks, on their property, or in their office. They do NOT follow Florida Statute regarding forms of payment. Their tow employees actually laugh at you and tell you they are charging you"repo" fees of $360.+++ for a 1.9 mile tow of a Class A vehicle, from a business property that has a posted sign with NO towing fee posted, and the address where to find your vehicle. Also, when you call the phone number for North Florida Towing, the address they give you, to show up with "cash only," is NOT even the registered business for the signage posted. Again, NO towing fees posted in writing anywhere per Florida Statute, and they choose not to give you a receipt for the cash they demand you hand over, unless DEMANDED, and they tell you, "they can't make change." Since they are towing from a heavy tourist area, basically, price gouging, and hoping, betting on foreigners not being able to question their illegal activities. The 2 extremely nasty boys they have working on the evening shift are extremely questionable IF the owner of this company is aware of the cash, undocumented fees, they are forcing people to pay, to retrieve their vehicle less than 2 miles from where they are towed from, and only held on a separate property another 2 miles away, for less than 2 hours. Possibly why North Florida Towing has changed their name, to where the local police wasn't aware of the very recent name change, their signage not matching their listed name, and per Florida Statute, St Johns County couldn't provide their required posted tow fees, with the county. ALL OTHER TOW COMPANIES HAVE THEIR TOW FEES POSTED ONLINE, with St Johns County, and at posted properties by signage, and in their tow offices, per the requirements of The State of Florida Statute revised and updated July 2024. DECEPTIVE and ILLEGAL PRICE GOUGING and CASH PAYMENT DEMAND against Florida Statue, at this location and area.
This place it’s probably the worst,and i know probably someone going reply and to write an answer back, im assuming explaining, however the rude of this people thinking they can do and charge stupid amounts just passing an hour its ridiculous, the staff it’s very unprofessional very rude, they working hand by hand with the police so they feel above the law, if the owner read this you need to be better specially when you provide a service and dont lie to people or take advantage and charge crazy amounts and definitely dont give customers no options
Trash company . Towed a truck that we parked at buc-ees for a few days . 1st of he's demanding cash only sorry talk to his accountant is what he said . Then I go on to tell him he's not even legal nothing is reflective nor does it have company name on anything and also the letters must be 4 inches stating a tow away zone . So I look him up and what do you know he has scrappy reviews unfortunately people like him can still survive by going around basically stealing people's vehicles . I'm going to see what my lawyer can dig up
North Florida Towing and Recovery is incredible. I was trying to get home from work and knew my normal route would be flooded so I took a different route. It was flooded too and I made the poor decision to drive through it. My car died in the road. I called North Florida Towing and Recovery to get a tow. They told me they could have somebody to me in 15-30 minutes. I don’t think I even had to wait 10 minutes before AL showed up. AL helped to make a bad situation better. He was fast getting the car hooked up and we were on the way back to my house quickly. At the end I expected to have to pay a boatload of money, but found out that the balance I had to pay was completely reasonable and fair. I cannot recommend them enough. If I ever need a tow again, North Florida Towing and Recovery will be my first call.
Extortionist company, forces cash on the spot even when your car is not on the lift. Taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists. Sitting waiting to pounce on you.
I had a flat tire and this company was chosen through my insurance for a tow. The communication was prompt and detailed and Joseph was so nice, helpful and efficient at his job. He’s a great guy. Highly recommend! Great employee and great company!
Amazing staff and experience! Had a break down on I-95 around World Golf Village in my 2020 Black Sapphire BMW M550i. I've had AAA for years but never had to use them until this incident and boy was it a headache! I waited for hours for a wrecker to come tow me to the BMW dealership in Winter Park. I had my wife and two kids with me at the time and with no A\C it was turning into a dire need for relief at least for my two kids. Luckily we were decently close to Buckees and ended up walking there to figure out our situation out of the burning sun. After about two hours of waiting on AAA the dispatcher informed me there wasn't anybody on the way and that they have nobody in the area and that I need to seek my own service. So I called North Florida Towing and talked to them and explained the situation and they were there in no more than 15 minutes! Absolutely amazing company that goes above and beyond to satisfy their customers and honestly a gem of a tow company in Historic St Augustine! You can 100% rely on them for all your towing and transportation needs. Huge shout-out to Maggie and Angel in the office they are always friendly and the drivers Gabriel and Alberto are extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable!
Bad business all the way. Had a note on my truck not to tow parked at the auto zone in St Augustine FL and my truck was towed anyway with the note thrown to ground. Had to pay $279 to get my truck back when it was towed without the business calling or a request to have it towed. Worst towing in town. Then after getting my truck back my rear end was messed up. Dispatch was very rude and the guy working that towed my truck couldn't even count $11 in change to give me. A shame that they tow without cause just to get money. And the BBB is being notified
They were very attentive and nice on the phone, we called because our vehicles along with many others were blocked in at our hotel. They called back and the vehicle moved slightly but was still blocking other vehicles/in the road/not in a space parked in front of the dumpster. They were very nice but no one ever came to check
When I called dispatcher they told me a price of $180, when the tow truck arrived. The dispatcher raised price again to $350. They got the job done in 45 min, at the very end she raised the price to $500 , then she threatened me and said if I didn't pay $500 they weren't going to release my vehicle from their truck. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company, they will back you into a corner , triple the price last minute, then make threats to keep your vehicle if you don't pay
North FL Towing was wonderful to work with! After waiting 5 hours for AAA, only to have them tell me no one was coming after all, and that they’d call me if they could get someone, North FL Towing arrived in 25 minutes. They were polite and kind, they texted me to let me know that the driver was on the way, and the price was very fair. I had a 160 mile tow and was so grateful that they could help me! Cancel your AAA (they’re a joke) and use local towing companies like North FL Towing. They went above and beyond.
If I could give them 10 stars I would. They went above and beyond. No one had any tow trucks in town available. I call North Florida towing and his tow trucks was out on a call. He ask me for my number and said he’ll call me back he might be able to do something. He called back in less than 10 minutes and was personally going to go out to my teen daughter and jump the dead battery. I have AAA, and called them at 10:00pm and they never showed. I called North Florida @ 3:55am. I am forever grateful and thankful. For now on I will call and always recommend North Florida Towing. Thank you very much
My wife was in an accident. She was coming back from shopping. My wife ended up in the hospital with a broken foot. As if our life hadn't just been upended enough. They wouldn't be let me get our groceries out of our car. When I protested and. Aked for a little compassion and let us get.our stuff out of the car. There was nothing but disrespect and not one bit of customer service. I would not reccoment this place. If your in an accident and NFT TOWING shows up ask for another wrecker service. Belive me you'll be better off.
Just used this company’s service today and I was very pleased from the dispatcher that I called several times, and she was so attentive and professional to answer all my questions, to the Tow Truck driver, who came out and instead of needing a tow, turned out to be a battery jump. Everyone was nice & easy to work with, thanks!
After AAA left us stranded waiting for 3 hours without an ETA we took it upon ourselves to call a tow company. Though it’s always tragic to be on the side of the road we truly appreciate the professionalism and service provided. They towed our vehicle and we drove in the tow truck to get home. Great experience and fair price considering it was at night. Tow truck was clean inside! So grateful they came to our rescue! We recommend and would use again if needed.
I needed my car towed to a shop for repair. Ryan kept me updated on his arrival and was friendly and efficient. Had a good conversation on our way to the shop as well. A great experience for such a bad day. Highly recommend North Florida Towing
This place towed my brothers broken down excursion from a legal parking spot alleging that it was blocking a driveway without any photo documentation of the blockage. My brother was forced to pay $500 to get his car released from the lot when an average towing fee for the distance in Saint Augustine is $50. Trashy business.
Three weeks ago, I was driving my Ford E-350 south on I-95 towards Port St. Lucie FL. At 2am while driving, my flywheel broke apart which left me stranded on the shoulder (at the time I didn't know it was the flywheel). After calling a few towing companies at 2am I was told they either didn't have anyone at that time, or they were too busy to get to me until the morning. So, after talking with the owner of North Florida Towing, he said he will send his "Mechanic- Tow Driver" who should be able to diagnose what happen with my truck; and the charge would be $400 to get me towed to his location. Although, I thought that was extremely expensive I agreed because I was stuck and tired. When the driver came, he said it would cost $450!!! I told him the owner had told me $400. After we arrived at his lot, he said my engine was lock up?? (Again, I found out later it was a broken flywheel) Being as I couldn't deal with the truck that day, I decided to leave it there and arrange to get it towed back to South Carolina by using U-Ship. That was a nightmare!! Every time, I had a committed towing company it always seemed not get towed, so 14 days later the truck was still at North Florida towing’s lot. After talking with North Florida Towing and explaining my situation. He said that I owed 14 days of storage Fees. At $35 a day $490!! (Wonderful Person). The strange thing about North Florida Towing location is there is a auto shop on the same property actually it’s all in the same building. So, one would think a towing company and an auto shop all in one location, YEAH!! NOPE, THE OWNER RESENTLY TOLD MY THEY ARE SPERATE. REALLY !! Why wasn't I suggested to allow the auto shop to take a look at the truck to see if it can be repaired!! THE OWNER SAID HE DIDN"T WANT TO BE RESPONABLE FOR THE OUTCOME FROM THE AUTO SHOP. Is the shop that horrible?? BUT WAIT A MINETE, DIDN"T YOUR MECHANIC TELL ME MY ENGINE WAS LOCKED UP !!! First I was given I different amount for the tow charge. Second, I was charged for a storage fee that was absolutely unnecessary if the auto shop would have repaired the truck and this would have been a 5-star review. I would avoid this place like the plague!
Unless you specifically tell them where you want your vehicle, they will back it into your driveway, and drop it. They blocked my entire driveway, and when I called them, they asked me, "What do you want us to do? We was told to leave it in the driveway, and that's what we did." Yes. That's exactly what they did. Backed the car into the middle of the drive way, pretty much blocking my vehicle in, and left it. No thought, no courtesy, just drop, collect payment, and ride out.
North Florida Towing saved our day. I had locked my keys in our car at a park in Ponte Verde. I called North Florida towing and they said they'd be right out. And they really were. They got there in record time and managed to get our very stubborn lock unlocked for a really reasonable price. So grateful.
My 20-year-old daughter broke down on 95 I called North Florida towing dispatcher Angela was amazing at the time there were no tow trucks in my area that could reach her for at least 3 hours Angela assured me that she would be able to free up a driver I drove to meet up with my daughter and Angela called me and told me that she got a driver to meet us at the location. The driver got there sooner than the estimated time he was very polite and courteous Angela spoke to my daughter as I was on my way there and kept her calm it was the first time my daughter ever broke down I appreciate that so much and so does my daughter that suffers from anxiety. She took the time to explain to my daughter that everything was going to be all right even though I told my daughter that you know how kids are. I appreciate everything the driver and the dispatcher did from the bottom of my heart
Driver Matt came to help me. Great guy . I was driving an natural gas van and ran out of gas need that junk towed to the closets natural gas station which was in jacksonville. Matt helped me out in everything even pumping that thing. 5 stars and price I was charged was the cheapest around. I recomend hope you guys get Matt too. 5 stars . Good lucky !
My vehicle was towed due to unclear signage in Historic Downtown St Augustine, which can happen, no big deal there. But the man who answered the phone for the tow company was very unprofessional, he was unnecessarily aggressive, as if he was upset that we were not upset about the car being towed. We paid the fine and the transaction with the person who towed the car went smoothly, but the person who operates the phone is distressed and very unprofessional. They may want to consider having someone who can effectively communicate answer phones.
I called them after my mom had waited over 6 hours for another towing company to show up (which they never did). They were at my house within 20 minutes of calling. Excellent service and a big shoutout to the driver Jonathan who was on his way home when he got the call. Super friendly, responsive and professional. I found them just by googling tow trucks near me, but I will definitely use them again if the need ever arises. Their price was also responsible given the amount of distance they had to tow the car. Definitely impressed and would highly recommend!
