What a great experience. I called to get a quote and I had an appointment for the next morning. I received multiple text messages letting me know the time of arrival and assuring me that they were coming. I got a phone call 30 minutes before the guys arrived and they were absolutely wonderful! Very nice and so professional. They took old wood floors and carpet from my curb and left it super clean. They were Fast and efficient. I highly recommend Junk King. This is how you run a company the right way!
The Good - The two pick-up men were outstanding. They were polite, friendly, efficient, and arrived on time. Scheduling was easy, I received multiple confirmations of my pick up and pick up time.
The Bad - This company has no morals or ethics and their advertising, specifically about having a St Augustine location, are lies. The owner has zero interest in righting a wrong made by employees. I asked if I was calling St Augustine and was told yes. They asked for my zip code, I provided it and was told I was in their area. If you Google Junk Kings, you will find a listing for a Junk Kings St Augustine PLUS with a St Augustine address, an image of a building and a phone number. I was told the drivers would "swing by for a free in-person estimate" This is a direct quote from the text I received. On the morning of my scheduled pick-up, the driver called me to inform me I was "out of area" and there was a minimum charge of $410. Never was I told this before. They told me they were coming from Jacksonville. It was too late for me to cancel and find another hauler, I needed to remove these items that day. Calling the company at multiple numbers and transfers resulted in the same answer. I was out of their area, the minimum pick-up was $410. The last person I talked with acknowledged the scheduling person was at fault but "the owner" could not/would not waive the minimum fee. She offered to have him call me, I told her unless he was willing to discuss a cost reduction, I didn't need to speak with him. And guess what, he never called me.
My final thoughts for this review - which, Junk King solicited BTW, is this: If you want to do business with a solid company that admits when a mistake was made and makes it right, don't do business with Junk King of Jacksonville or Junk King of St Augustine.
We had a hot tub removed from a screened in lanai. Junk King came to our home, provided us with a quote in one day and scheduled us promptly. We were very pleased. The men showed up timely, dismantled the tub, removed all the pieces and cleaned up the area when done. All at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend their service.
I called to get a quote to disposal of a mattress and box spring. The sales person, Jackie, listened to my needs and quickly gave me a quote. It was the best quote I had received so I booked a time for the next day. When the guys arrived they were professional and friendly. They both wore their masks and maintained safe distance. They were in and out in just a few minutes.
My experience with this company was wonderful. The 2 men were very professional and polite. They arrived On time and worked well with each other to quickly remove the items. The arrival was timely with pre-calls to note a specific arrival time. The young men carried out the task efficiently. Payment was handled by credit card. I would use this service again if needed and I would recommend Junk King to friends. I appreciated that one of the young men wore a mask and was very mannerly.
The guys arrived on time, called before arrival, were very efficient, wore their masks, gave us a good price to haul away mountains of cardboard from our recent long-distance move. Also took a couple of old TVs. Swept garage when finished. Great service.
Bait & Switch. Unlike other reviewers here, I had a terrible experience with JK of St. Augustine. Booked appointment over the phone. Was told, explicitly, that the crew would look at my junk and give me a free estimate and, if I liked the price, they would haul the junk away. Explanation was clear and understood, so the scheduler put me down for 8AM-10AM the next day. Great! 10:02AM the next day - driver calls me to tell me he is running 1 hour late. That's no big deal to me, I could wait. Then he says, "You're out of our service area so it's going to cost you $368 just to come by to look at it." THREE HUNDRED & SIXTY EIGHT is not a "free estimate." Furthermore, how am I "out of the service area" when their address is St. Augustine and my address is St. Augustine. Worse still, the scheduler explicitly asked me, first thing, for my EXACT ADDRESS. So, it isn't as if this was a surprise to JK. Free estimate means free estimate - NOT $368 to come by and talk about how much more they expect me to pay. Why was the "service area" not discussed on the phone prior to booking the appointment? 1 hour late, for me that day, no big deal but it's still not on schedule as agreed. Anyway, you make up your own mind. For me, "bait and switch" is unprofessional and unscrupulous. I will not call this outfit ever again.
The two guys who just picked up my sleeper sofa in Nocatee were awesome. They took a door off its hinges to get the piece out of a bedroom and used caution getting that heavy beast down the stairs, all while being friendly and not bringing miserable energy into my home. These guys work hard, and I hope everyone who uses this company shows these specialists that they appreciated.
Was able to arrange a pick up in less than 24 hours then arrived early which I greatly appreciated. The 2 gentlemen who made pick up were very courtesy. Great communication. Would highly recommend.

Called disposal company that contracts with my local county to remove my old refrigerator. Was told I would first have to call an HVAC company to drain the freon which would charge me for a service call plus charge to remove and recycle fee for the appliance.The company would then have to aply a sticker to the fridge certifying an HVAC company performed the service. I called Junk Kings and they promptly scheduled my pickup for the following day. Fee charged was all inclusive for pick up and removal of the appliance. They arrived on time after contacting me prior to their arrival. They were courteous and professional. I recommend this company.
I called the day before and was delighted Junk King could pick up the next day at the time I requested. The truck and drivers arrived 5 minutes early and were very neat and clean. They quickly assessed my property and determined a cost. I did think it was a little high and I wanted the stuff out of my garage. Within 15 minutes they were gone. I would definitely use Junk King again.
We had a treadmill that was old and didn’t survive the move from Chicagoland to St Augustine. The were out within a few days and in the timeframe that worked for me. Plus the were the cheapest around! The 2 gentlemen that picked it up were very professional and courteous! Highly recommend them!
Bait and switch company!! Beware! I live 3 miles from the Google listing in St. Augustine, fl. They call me 7 minutes before the end of my service window to tell me I am outside the service area and would be $408 to come to my house. Then the fee to haul the stuff away can be negotiated. This is a scam company. If they do show up, they will price gauge you. Skip this company !!!
The experience with removal of a massive refrigerator freezer was spectacular with Junk King. The two young men, both named Tony, were on time, responsive, inventive and careful in removing the appliance from the garage and loading the truck. The cost of the service was surprisingly low compared to other vendors as well. I would absolutely recommend Junk King as the go to appliance remover to my closest friends and family. Dr Martine

I have used junk king multiple times across several states, they're always professional and curtious; and they always complete the job very quickly. They're my "go to" for junk removal.
I placed my order online , I was supposed to get $20 off for doing that, I was still charge $375 for a mini dumpster. I reach out 3 time to get my 20 credit they always said they'll look into it.
July 2, 2021 Junk King was hired to haul away an x-ray machine. They arrived at 4:15 PM with 2 men and a hand truck to lift the machine onto their truck. The truck had a winch that was broken. It had no lift gate. One of the employees decided to puncture the base unit with a pickax. Gallons of clear oil came out, spilling on the pavers and asphalt. They then lifted the equipment onto the truck. They asked for a hose to wash the oil into the storm sewer, which would have resulted in the oil contaminating retention ponds and the local waterways. I did not have one. I made the mistake of paying them. I went to the grocery store to buy kitty litter to try to absorb the oil. The company was contacted the next day by phone and email. The second day after the spill they responded with a phone call. Their stance is that because I paid them their responsibility is over.
Does not service Saint Augustine!!! Their website states they do, their system accepted my address on Anastasia island. The driver calls me 3 hours after expecting arrival, "We do not service St. Augustine." Unethical organization...no respect for the customer!!!!
Do not use them for appliance removal or anything larger than a hot water heater, as the dumpster is not very deep so you can’t get much in there that doesn’t stick up in the air. I specifically asked if they used a tarp to cover the dumpster when they pickup, they said yes but they took out a refrigerator and left it in my driveway. I put old carpeting in first and then put the appliances on top the keep everything from blowing away but apparently it was too much. Got charged a $100 overflow charge and came home to an old refrigerator in my driveway.
