Trustworthy shop . Shout out to Casey who never knew when I'd show up but acted like it was all fine. I'm sure they were busy . Thankful to have a no pressure trust worthy place to take my jeep. As I have no knowledge in repairs or parts . My tires look and feel great when I drive

My wife dropped our vehicle off, fearing the worst, price-wise. Instead of thousands and thousands of dollars in repairs, Swanson’s provided us with a knowledge team and great pricing. These guys are great, and went the extra mile for sure.
Took my 2016 VW Jetta back to Swansons Auto Repair so they could do an in-depth examination to see if the issues I’m experiencing with the Jetta can be resolved.
They kept the car a couple of days and when I went to pick it up, Ron Swanson, spent the better part of an hour with me and my daughter and gave us a detailed explanation of what is happening with the car.
The problem is not affecting the operation of the car. It’s more of an annoyance that can be resolved but at a very high cost.
I sincerely appreciate Ron taking so much time out of his busy schedule to talk with us. I highly recommend Swanson’s Auto Repair.
Ron from Swanson’s Auto Repair called me after my initial review was posted this morning (see below). Ron was very nice, and we had a lengthy discussion about the situation.
There was another issue going on at the same time which is that all of the warning lights come on and stay lit on the dash after engine starts. I was surprised that issue was not addressed. I have since learned that the dash lights issue is common to my particular VW model but can be repaired.
I appreciate being contacted by Swanson Auto Repair. They do care about customers’ concerns and opinions.
Took my 2016 VW Jetta to Swanson because engine was dragging and hard to start. Acted like it needed a battery but new battery had been installed about a year ago.
Swanson kept my Jetta a couple days and said battery was bad. They put in another new battery and charged me $383.
Next day when I started the car after it sat overnight it did the same dragging start like it needed a new battery. Some mornings are worse than others.
We are Fort Myers Digital doing a job in Sarasota. Our truck broke down in Venice. I got in touch with Ron at Swansons Auto Repair, and he got us back on the road early the next day when we had to come back and finish our graphics installation at a major corporate warehouse. These guys are a bunch of con artists that are very good at charming you into thinking that they’ll take care of a problem, but leave all kinds of things that alarm the hell out of you like gaskets and bolt nuts in areas where they’ve worked on your vehicle and not even fix everything that you asked and paid them to fix.
I had to go back here not once, not twice, but 5 times for them to “fix” the same oil leak, which we ended up having to fix ourselves in the end because they hid their mistake but putting paper towels, a mat, and duct tape on my oil pan to stop it from dripping and hide their shoddy work.
The mat they put on also covered the vent for my AC, which was working overtime until we figured this out, which they duct taped onto the bottom of my vehicle. Fortunately, I had a friend who’s a mechanic take a look at it and we found their many cover ups and mistakes and fixed them for a fraction of what they charged.
They also changed us to remove the engine but never took it out, which was close to $500. They didn’t even unscrew the mount all the way as you can see from the photos which is a dead give away.
These guys are a bunch of con artists. So sorry that I ever recommended them to anyone.

Edit: As you can see, a thumbs up is all you get from these guys instead of an apology. Too bad I didn’t have a 67 camero, otherwise, they would have taken better care of my vehicle, at least that’s what the shop manager said. The same shop manager who sits in his office and play his PC or Xbox.
I’ve been using Swanson’s now for more than ten years. I’ve found Ron to be honest, a talented mechanic and accommodating. He charges less than a dealership but not less than the going shop rates. I trust Swanson’s.
Swanson’s repaired the ac in my Volvo for half the price of the dealer.
After five weeks, it failed again.
They diagnosed the problem, admitted they were responsible, repaired the system at no charge.
Such rare integrity in the auto repair business.

Casey was very pleasant and gave me several possible approaches to solving an AC issue with my car. Although I had no work done as it was mutually agreed upon that it would not be cost effective due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, it was his honesty and professional manner that makes me think that the work done at this shop would be likewise.
Swanson’s Auto repair is the best and most efficient mechanic in town! Me and my family have been going to Ron for YEARS and the quality of work always speaks for itself. Ron and his staff have worked on several of my cars and have always gotten me in and out within a timely manner, even in emergencies! He is very honest and gives great car advice. The prices are also hard to beat. I highly recommend.

I would highly recommend Swansons Auto Repair. We broke down and needed to replace our motor during our visit to North Port, FL. A used motor was ordered and Ron quickly and safely got us back on the road. We are grateful that we didn’t having any issues with our used motor during our 24 hour drive back to Minnesota thanks to Ron. You won’t be disappointed.
Had a dead starter. I was 95% sure of the issue when I brought it in. They fixed the issue and had the car up and running beautifully in a day.
They didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of stuff I wasn't interested in or try to convince me that there were other issues I needed addressed on top (unlike another auto shop in the area.... you know the "brothers" I'm sure.).
Price was very fair and transparent. He didn't gouge on the price of parts, and the bill was clean and straight forward.
Ron is an honest guy from my encounter and there were no cringy sales tactics which sometimes make people like me dread having to deal with the auto shop. Kind of guy you'd sit down and have a beer with. Very satisfied.... and I might have some more work coming their way sooner than later.
He has a life long customer in me now for auto repairs. Highly recommend.
Scott was extremely nice and professional and made me feel prioritized. I was ripped off by two mechanics prior for a simple fix on my windshield wipers and this shop finally took care of me easily in one day. I’ll only be coming here from now on.
A true and honest repair shop. Called Friday afternoon and asked if we could have our car towed and dropped off. Not a problem was told. Monday morning they called us and told us it was the starter. 2 hours later called and was done. Definitely recommend any work you need to have done. Very professional and great service.
Been doing business with this outfit for a number of years now. I have found them to be very reliable and I don't have to worry about getting ripped off, as the proprietor is as honest as the day is long (which is a relief when you're looking for a shop.) - Zero complaints
I’ve been going to Swanson’s for years. Ron is honest, personable, knowledgeable, and reliable. I trust his work and judgment. I’ve had services done by him and haven’t had any issues since then. He just recently worked on my cat due to pothole damage. He took my car same day, called me back with service detail, fee, and duration of service. I picked up my car a day earlier than expected. Was very pleased and always happy with the work done.
Ron who is the owner always takes care of us and we have been using him for a very long time. You can't beat his pricing and how fast his turnaround time is along with the quality of work. I would never use anyone else and he is the only mechanic I trust

I must say I’m disappointed, AT ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!! I called Thursday February 3, 2022 to ask if they worked on mini coopers and that it was probably an ignition coil since I had one go out on me before. Ron said to bring it by and they’ll take a look; I said I’d be there Friday since I happened to be off.
Had it there just after 9 and left it. Within a couple hours he called to confirm it was a coil and I asked him to get it and take care of it. He called to let me know the part was on its way and briefly discussed the cost of the fix, which was very reasonable. Within a couple hours he called to let me know it’s finished!!!

I showed up there out of the blue as neither friend or family but must say I feel I left as a friend as he did a fantastic job and I will continue to go to him, as well as recommend him to anyone in need of mechanical work. Thank you very much Ron!!
Took my dad here a few months ago to have his car worked on. Just getting around to leaving this review after some illness in the family. Felt the need to leave it though to warn others. Ron Swanson the owner I assume was so rude and unprofessional. My dad is a elderly man and he was very rude to him when he called to check on his car. The issue he told us was going to cost over 550. We ended up taking it for a second opinion and was told it was misdiagnosed and the car was fixed for 225. His employees seemed nice except one girl who was there. However Mr Swanson should learn some manners especially when speaking to the elderly. Don't let his good reviews fool you. Pay attention to the bad ones. I think he must have his friends and family write these because this is absolutely one of the rudest men I have ever heard speak especially when speaking to the elderly. Maybe because we were from out of state? He did seem to dislike our bumper sticker. Learn some manners Mr Swanson and don't always rely on your computer to tell you what's wrong. Learn more about cars and don't try to fix the wrong thing. (Also pay attention to how they respond to their bad reviews, very childlike with "Have a nice day, "glad you got help somewhere else" or some smart butt response instead of apologizing or attempting to make things better/improve)
Ron is a good and honest mechanic, which is difficult to find these days. He got my vehicle in quickly and took the time to properly rule out what I thought was an issue, saving me a ton in unnecessary repairs. I am not local, but if I'm ever in need of services while I'm in town visiting family, I'll be sure to bring my vehicle in and recommend it to anyone else.
I can't say enough positive about the guy at Swansons; 4:45 this afternoon, I'd just pulled into a business and discovered a hissing noise coming from my driver's side rear tire. Not knowing anyone for tire repair, I Googled "tire repair near me," and it gave me Swansons, just 4 minutes away. I called them on my way there, and pulled into their lot. The guy plugged it and we were on the road again in less than 20 minutes; no charge. Of course, we gave him $20 in a show of gratitude, which we had to push for him to accept.
What a breath of fresh air our experience with them was! Two thumbs up!
They could not diagnose our problem correctly. After a couple days they gave us a guess of what it might be and quoted a high price of over 500 to fix it. We took it elsewhere and someone else diagnosed it. Turned out to be a 145.00 part. It's not that I do not think they are honest. They seem to rely on computer diagnostics and with some cars (especially older ones) that's not always reliable or readable. They were very nice. I think they may do okay with easy things to diagnose. I just wouldn't go to them if you have a problem that isn't obvious. That's just our experience with them. .***** I updated our review to three stars. The reason is because after seeing our review, Swanson's called today to see if there was anything they could do to make things right.*****
The guys replaced my ignition lock cylinder and changed the oil. They were friendly, courteous, and knew what they were doing. They were professional, the work was done in a timely manner, and the price was reasonable. I'll definitely be going back. I've been to numerous auto repair services in North Port; and won't go back to them for anything. I'll be going to Swanson's from now on!
