I love coming to Spivey auto I got four great tires for a really great price and I got a starter for my truck I have a 1990 so it’s hard to find parts for it but they have them! Super nice people clean and friendly environment absolutely coming back to Spivey auto salvage for my parts in the future
If you do not live in Polk County do not bother to try to do business with Spivey Auto Salvage was driving an hour and 20 minutes to buy a $5,000 used motor and we were told they would not sell it to anyone outside of Polk County. I guess our money is no good! Never heard of anyone doing business like this.
My experience with Spivey's has been fantastic. Frank went above and beyond to provide assistance with my 2012 Chevy Malibu transmission. Forever grateful. Highly recommended.
Walked in Here and Tony Diaz was excellent with helping me I asked a million questions and he answered everything Even explained the warranty to me 3x So I fully understand I would recommend this place to anyone ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well all I can say is I'm very disappointed in this business that I talked highly of. The owner (The Lady) conversed multiple times when I'm there. I say hello to everyone the customers and employees. That's just the way that I am. I too own a business. Tire and oil shop plus small repairs. I open this business to make people feel they're still some decent folk out doing real work. People who really try to help other instead of getting over. I say that, because I know the struggle also. I held on strong even through these struggling times. God has always been on my side. I'm not out trying to get rich off of someone else's struggle, I work and get it the most honest way there is without effecting others struggle. I bought a transmission from this establishment for a friend's car. With that I'm not making much on this. Paid for it, 1500 by check. Paid friend a $1000. I was issued a to do list so the warranty is valid. New fluid, filter etc. Must be programmed by Nissan Dealership. Check. Get a from the dealership, they said the trans was 4 qts low on fluid. I call them LIARS also. I checked before delivery. They informed me the car doesn't move. Ok well the trans is bad. Called this establishment told them what was said and was told to take the car to them. Drop it off with all paperwork of what was purchased for proof I guess. A little over week passes with no phone calls. So I called. Asked about the status on the car. Talked for minute, then was told they'll call back, ok. they called back and was told warranty void since Nissan said it was low. I was shocked. Tried to talk to one the owners, but surprisingly they were busy. Let me say this, I run my business. I know the ins and outs of my business. Customers know me. I don't need messengers. Mechanic, tire shops is probably a big part of your income and to do something like this on anyone, I think It's foul. But what do we do. We must live on. If your heart doesn't ache knowing you potentially have financially broke someone's pocket, I feel for you all. I never post reviews, but I needed to get this off of my chest. I'll PRAY for you all and the establishment. GOD BLESS!!
Purchased a differential from them for my car only to find out I didn't need it. However the team at Spiveys was fantastic. They returned it without any problems. Very helpful and professional.
Worst place never get a motor from them payed 4k for a motor and it was bad and they said it’s not under warranty they don’t go through none of there motors or transmission they just sell them
Overpriced like never before. They sell used batteries for $80.00 for a used battery is disgusting! And they come with a 30 day warranty! Def overpriced parts! I won't buy there again.
I drove from tampa to spivey`s to purchased an engine, after installing the engine it had a little noise i made an appointment for them to look at it and they let me wait on it since i came from over an hour away standard protocol was to leave the vehichle Donna & Tony were very polite and professional after they diagnosed the noise they came up with a solution that worked well for both the customer (ME) and spivey`s i will be doing business the spivey`s again thank you Andy R
Spent 1k on a supposedly tested Transmission … Transmission was not tested and was bad - towed the car back to them and they lied to us and told us they “ test drove “ the car and the transmission was fine and the car is driving fine. This was a lie , nobody drove the car because it doesn’t drive !! Take your money somewhere else , anywhere else but here , they lied and sold me a bad part and refused to make things right when confronted , CROOKS !!
Tony at Spiveys provided professional and outstanding service. I called everywhere looking for 1988 Dodge Dakota windshield and no one could help. I googled auto salvage and found Spiveys Auto Salvage. Tony found me a brand new windshield and I picked it up in 2 days. Looking forward to doing business and highly recommend.
Very disrespectful at the front guy name tony I believe called me over ask can i help u then would repeatedly say one moment an walk in an out of office stood there for 30 minutes before he decided to ask what i need again all i needed was a simple starter but shouldn’t take 30 minutes makes it worse he says he has part sends someone back to get it then say they cant find it then I believe his name was frank helped the poor disrespectful employee by getting the starter an i was on my way but i was there for 1 hr but took another employee to get it shame should of went to budget better service.
Thanks frank and all the amazing employees at Spiveys. I purchased a motor from you and fell on financial hardship before I was even able to pick the motor up. I asked for a refund. They gladly assisted me with my refund. So after paying $1,400 plus for an engine and getting my money back for the engine I was granted a whopping $900 back. They kept over $500 for re-stocking fees(the motor never left the rack) and they also taxed me on the engine before refunding my money. Thank you so much for the amazing experience
I run an automotive shop and we received a bad engine from spivey’s for a Kia soul. Buyer beware: if they sell you a bad motor they want you to bring the car up for their “mechanics” to check it before offering a refund. If you have to tow it, that’s at your own expense. We returned the motor after having to do the job a second time and they put the bad engine back in inventory. The owner himself stated that there is nothing wrong with it having never looked at it. My technician showed their staff the video we took of the engine knocking and oil in the coolant and we were still told it was not a bad motor. Now, why would a shop spend the time putting an engine in for a customer of ours just to have to do the job all over again? Attached is a picture of the oil in coolant of our “good” motor.

Effort made here in organization and cleanliness in sales room beyond most junk yards. They buy wrecks but not junk cars and the engine we bought was clean, had been tested and a 6 month warranty with water pump and timing kit replacement.
Initially i gave five stars now, the engine doesn't perform well and to far away to attempt the warranty
This was a great experience. We needed a transmission for our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. He answered his phone at 5:00 pm as they were closing and Frank was very friendly!! I called the next morning to confirm that we were coming for the transmission!! Not only are they friendly, they are very professional!!! They wanted the Vin # to the van to ensure we were purchasing the correct transmission!!! We also got a 6 month warranty with the transmission!! We have a place for any future parts we may need!!! I highly recommend them!!
This is the best tire shop in town!!! They were so helpful to me and my dad with getting what we needed. I went to 3 different cities and they were the only ones who had my tire in stock. High quality service and the one who is over it all is a BOSS LADY and know her stuff!!! Thank you so much from me and my dad.
Zero stars if I could. I was on vacation about an hour away from their facility, called them to see if they had an airbag I was looking for and they confirmed that they did, and was told to come pay for it and they would take it off.(pretty typical) Drove an hour to get there to purchase the air bag and was told that it was a 150 degrees out there and they would not send any one to go and take off the air bag that would have taken 5 minutes tops. Are you kidding me then shut it down on hot days and cold days and don't have people waste an hour one way to come to get a part from a salvage yard. What a joke I've been in car business for over 20 years in Texas which is much hotter than Florida and have never heard that before. Don't waste peoples time if you are choosing to not remove parts. What a disappointment. Don't waste your time here!!
Bought a Transmission for my 2001 Toyota Tundra v6 and installed I looked at reviews about this place before I bought this Transmission and saw mostly bad but since I needed this part and Spiveys was the only one with the transmission I took a chance. I have not had one single problem with the transmission and did everything they asked me to do on the install. The papers clearly say the parts must be installed by a licensed mechanic and you must bring the truck for inspection by Spiveys now I installed myself so I have bigger tires and that's also on the paper work that voids warranty but point is I saw all these bad reviews and had nothing but good come from this place and know whats to come if the part goes bad . Core is also 10 days from date of receipt. I'm guess some don't read what they are getting into before they buy but my experience was very good and I will go back for my parts to Spiveys. Thank you Spiveys for the transmission it's still going strong
I went to Spiveys Auto Salvage after visiting three other places. The service was prompt, accommodating and efficient. Spiveys’ had exactly what I was looking for, which was a high quality part at an affordable price. The part fit perfectly in the car and works extremely well. I definitely recommend this business. The mechanic that pulled the part found one in even better condition and offered that part versus the one i chose.The process was simple, easy to follow and the mechanics pull the part for you, so no need to bring tools. The business has been in operation since 1953 and the owner is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I recommend this business if you need a used part and don't want to spend the exorbitant amount that dealerships charge.
My shop dealt with Mark as we were trying to locate a mirror for one of our customers. Mark had the mirror and shipped it to us quickly, enabling us to take care of our customer who was leaving town. Fast, friendly, and professional, the entire process was as easy as I've experienced. We will be using Spivey's again when the need arises!
They were friendly but did not make sure the part I was getting actually fit my car. When we went to install it we realized it was for a automatic not a manual. Not worth the trouble to go back so we made it fit. I prefer a good old fashioned pick a part versus Spivey.
