Drove here with a loaded trailer on Sunday because your business hours state you're open and you're not. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not waste my time coming again.
Because I knew the times would be updated after this review I took a screenshot while I was in the parking lot of the posted times on Google I have posted that screenshot to the review. I changed my review to a 3 star as the business did fix the mistake on their listing but I was still wildly inconvenienced due to this error so my 3 star review stands.
I wasnt very pleased with my experiance .They were not as they were before the guys working the small scale didnt know what they were doing sorting and shorted me more than 10 lbs in weight among other issues I wont say.I wont go back.its one more trade gone to hell
I dropped off a couple non rimmed tires. Cost me 8$.. you drive back and drop them yourself.. my advise is be prepared to get dusty.. don’t wear flip flops like I did… easy in and out. No questions asked
Pay more than some places on the scrapbook will scam you for any of the good stuff such as copper insulated wire. For me there's no better place in Melinda's in Plant City. Name of that place is metals materials and recycling.
This place is so amazing! The ladies in the office are always wonderful and amazing! The bend out in the yard are awesome and are always willing to help

I rolled in with a trailer full of miscellaneous scrap metal on a Monday afternoon and rolled right onto the scale. The office lady took my weight in about 5 seconds and said “Ok, go ahead” and I backed up to the pile and dumped everything out. A few minutes later, I was getting my weight on the way out and picking up some cash. Easy as you please. Remember to bring your ID, as they’ll take that and your sig, photo, and fingerprint. A great experience — now I just need to find more metal!
Israel was my scale operator and he scammed me on my #1 and #2 copper. I had bundles of #8 awg that he classified as #2 copper, then classified a liquid filled seal tight as #1 copper. The lady in the office didn't know what clean copper was. I asked the price and she said it's considered #1 copper for them. 🤦
Your drivers especially the driver of truck 11 should learn what a turn signal is or maybe someone should show him how to use them most people are not mind readers
This place used to be good, but now they won't take dishwashers that are plastic which okay I understand then I go today now they won't take metal ones either. Literally says on their sign they will take anything metal....highly disappointing... I will take my business elsewhere.
This is the worst scrap yard in the county. They pay lower than the posted prices hell they probably pay lower than anyone else. The girl in the office with the mustache is extremely rude and she has no customer service skills. I had a horrible experience and I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. Drive the extra 15 min to allied or plant city even, you will be glad you decided too.
Went on a Wednesday, around mid-afternoon, and was in and out in just 5 minutes. I was worried it may take longer when I only saw 1 scale, but they moved people through quickly. Got $20 for an old push mower with a bad engine, metal sign pole, and a water heater. Worth the trip to me.
I was there on Saturday, 2/12/2022. The new owners apparently sought out the rudest woman they could find to run the scale. Absolutely horrible both over the phone and in person. I'll take scrap metal anywhere but here from now on.
This company has noreguard for the surrounding residential neighbors at all. They have a permit for the Forestry division to open burn tons of scrap wood. And an exemption from the Florida EPA to pollute the air we breath so they can make money at the expense of the health of the people of Florida. Someone somewhere is being paid off I suspect to be allowing the poisoning of peoples lungs almost daily.
I have never been cheated like that in my lifeI took them 400 lb of extrusion aluminumI didn't i did not know any better They gave me $0.18 a pound then my friend tells me I got cheated so I called a couple scrap yards me it was worth a lot more I called and checked its worth $0.60 a poundTo all the other scrap yards do not go hear first and last time
New to welding guy here, called up to scrap it yard to ask if they sold to the public. The ladies at the waystation were very friendly and helpful and I thought my experience was going to go great. They told me where to go and what I could look for and when I went out to the yard to start looking two guys were not helpful at all first told me I can’t buy anything and second overpriced a small piece of angle iron for 4 dollars a piece but told me 1/4 c channel 10’ long was 6. I believe his name was Israel who gave prices. Very disappointing did not feel welcome in the yard. Cudos to ladies in the weigh-house!
Lady at the desk was nice but I took some copper #1 and #2 here and the guy said no to my #2 copper wire he didn’t test it with a magnet just looked at it and said no and when asked about it he couldn’t tell me why
Communication was great on the phone and at the business. All areas were clean and free of debris, would not have been afraid of a punctured tire as I have experienced at other scrap yards. Will be visiting again for disposal of scrap metal.
This is not a good place to go they tell you it's .15cents per pound for aluminum and when you go they want to give you .04 cents common really they won't see me there again.
Their sign say they are open till 6 in the evening but when you get in there you have to people that say you have until 5:45 to bring scrap in and then another lady that says you have till 5:30 they can't get their X right and they want to be rude especially the woman with the dark hair and glasses she's completely rude to everybody who goes up there and then threatens to ban them from the scrap yard if they come any later than 5:30 when the sign clearly says 6
I had two large loads of logs and the front loader operator stopped what he was doing to help me get them off. the scale house was clean and friendly. and the price was cheap than the dump in winter heaven
