I Agree with some of the other reviewers. This guy is NOT reliable!! No show, and never return your calls. Do yourself a favor and go with anyone else.
The guy sounded professional on the phone and assured me he would come pick-up scrap aluminum I had piled up for him. I told him it needed to be gone that day and he said he would grab it. I come to the job site today and nothing was gone! That cost me money and time because he wasn't honest. All he would have had to say is he couldn't do it. But instead he promised to pick it up. Horrible customer service. I'm guessing there wasn't enough money in the pile and that's all he had to say. Won't call him again. Sad thing for him is I generally have a bunch of copper and other high price scrap and had he followed through id have only used him until he gave me reason not to. I have that reason now
I made an appointment to have a washer and dryer picked up and he said he would call me an hour out. The next day, he acted like his guys forgot to pick it up and said he would send them again. No one ever showed up. When I called him back, he picked up and hung up on me. I do not recommend using this business.
Called Jay on a Tuesday afternoon and he answered my call in a few seconds where most other "FREE" appliance pickup companies either do not answer the phone at all or charge a hefty fee to pick up my old kitchen appliances. Jay was being very honest on the phone and came by the very SAME DAY (about 3 hours after I made the call). Very impressive about Jay's work ethic and professionalism.
Jay was able to remove a used washer and dryer from our property in a timely manner. Great communication and got the job done for us! Thank you Jay for your professional service!

I hired Jason Helwig, company owner to remove and scrap $13,000 worth of material when I found out I had TERMINAL CANCER and needed the money desperately!!! He never returned not one phone call and thinks he will get away with robbing good people of their money.. He has done this to other people and continues to look for the next victim he can steal money from , don’t let it be you…. I will not take this down till he makes good on the money he stole from me and my family….all you have to do is make this right and I will take it down until then we will tell everyone about your scams and theft…..
Called set up a time … no show . Called again … no show. Third call in 4 days he hung up on me. I’m sorry if I’m bothering to give you any business This isn’t a legit business… People needing his services would be better off looking elsewhere. J saved our sanity. Another contractor kept missing appointments to haul away my 90year old dad’s huge awning which had fallen 3 weeks before Hurricane Ian. J answered my late afternoon phone call and heard my distress and showed up to do the work after an already exhausting day. I HIGHLY recommend PCFSMR if you want to get the job done. This is what a genuine hardworking small businessman should always look like.
Very nice guy. Customer service was great, he was super quick and didn’t leave any mess. If you need to get rid of something this is the place to go for sure .
I’m an old man with terminal cancer. I called Jay to help empty my storage unit. We agreed on a 50/50 split of the sale of my items. He took a new 500 pound spool of copper wire and many other metals. While I was closing up my unit he left suddenly with all my property on his trailer worth about $2000.00. Was counting on that money for medical bills.
Never heard from him or saw him again.
Jay agreed to pick up our scrap iron by the end of the week. The following Monday I texted asking when he would be by. He wrote he would be here tomorrow. At 10am on that Tuesday I wrote requesting an ETA.
No response. If there were an option for zero stars, he'd get it.
Jay stopped by off the street at our manufacturing facility and saw we had an old fork lift and scrap metal laying around. He offered to take it for scrap and split the net amount 50/50. After a week we followed up and had a hard time getting a hold of him. We continued to call and call and call. He was unresponsive. When we finally did reach him he made excuses on why he had not yet made payment. Our property was taken for scrap in October 2021, and as of March 2022 he still never paid for the material he took from our property. He continued to make excuses and every time we spoke recently he stated he would be making payment, but has yet to do so. He has been unethical, unresponsive, unprofessional and someone I would absolutely not recommend, because at this point he is a thief.
I cant say enough good stuff about this guy. I met him after Irma when a tornado ravaged my yard and we pulled this huuuge pool cage out of the pool together. Since then I have him in my phone as Aluminum Guy and hit him up any time. Great guy, very helpful, super professional. He rocks it like a boss
Called Jay and he was here the next day. Picked up a big heavy Pool Propane Heater and other items not so big. Kept me in the loop on his schedule and arrival time. I highly recommend him.

Contacted this business to pick up my scrap metal. The never showed the first day they were supposed to come. I contacted them the next week....they never showed on that day either. They contacted me that afternoon and said it would be the next day. They didn't show then either! After that, they no longer responded to my messages. Don't waste your time.
Was fast and cleared out every piece of metal. Would definitely call again if I need any metal removed. Gave him about 7 pairs of gloves to help with all the hard work.
This is the best scrapper around. No nonsense kinda guy. I appreciated his straightforwardness and authenticity. Working with him was smooth and required little effort on my part other than pointing out what I needed removed and thanking him when he was done.

I HIGHLY recommend calling Jay when you need to clean out or get rid on any metal, light or heavy. The 1st time I used him was for a cleanout at my fathers house, he was on time, professional and did the clean out in amazing time. The 2nd time, my aluminum carport was destroyed by the hurricane so I called him and within two hours, he showed up with his truck and trailer, tore the metal down and hauled it away. He is the guy to hire if you want the job done right !!!!!
He was supposed to come out one day by 3 then said he couldn't make it till after 5 so I rescheduled with him for the next morning. After promising to be there at 10 am he gave more excuses and said he'd be there by noon and at noon he said he was around corner getting McDonald's and then no showed again. He never answered his phone or texted to say he wasn't coming. In earlier calls here was short and very rude even snapped at me when I asked for an ETA. Needless to say I was fined for not having them disposed of... when I set it up with plenty of time and he bailed. Don't call him or waste your time... Plenty of places will PAY YOU to come drop them off to be recycled... Don't get had
I would highly recommend using Jay! We had our ac condenser replaced but the company did not take the old one away. I messaged Jay about removing it and he responded within 10 min and picked up the old unit that same day. Great customer service if you ever need anything removed def give him a call. Thank you Jay for such great service
