This is a smaller scale yard that doesn’t do much processing onsite, they sell bulk to processors and some things go up the chain of the parent company. Their prices aren’t unfair, but they’re also not the highest payouts you’ll get in Tampa bay. Certain things are oddly enough paid higher here but not many, the list of those things has been shrinking over time. You have to call them for a price list. Problem is that they rarely answer the phone when calling in so you might want to ask before dropping things off. Their staff is mostly great, nearly all are welcoming and understanding and don’t get snappy with the inexperienced. There were a handful of problematic guys working there that have since left/been fired and they seem to have a cohesive & well functioning team currently.
This isn’t the place to bring niche material like Ewaste components, higher grade circuit boards RAM and etc, same with higher grade alloys, Nickle, cobalt, magnesium, tin (actual elemental tin) etc, it will confuse them often times and they’ll grade it as something in the <.10 range or see it as a contaminant to another category. It’s not really their fault as they likely don’t have buyers for the more niche material lined up and they don’t have an XRF analyzer in the warehouse as far as I’ve seen, making it nearly impossible to train employees on rare material recognition skills without an analyzing tool to confirm. This can cause small discrepancies in what you’re offered vs what you actually have, a good example is within the stainless steel grades. Doesn’t matter if I bring in 316 or 304 grade stainless, it’s always getting graded as 304 (lower value), likely in part due to ‘playing it safe’ when they’re buying because it’s not easy to train someone on identifying the difference between two close alloys in the same 300 series steel especially without having an XRF to confirm. They’re fine handling all the typical & recognizable scrap metal categories, but like most yards, they expect you to have your stuff sorted correctly before bringing it in. That’s the standard anywhere and one of the most fundamental scrapyard customer expected types of etiquette for a good reason, one unorganized and/or inexperienced person can hold up an entire scale for long periods of time. This disrupts the flow of business and when it happens in a place as busy as this is, things can get chaotic quickly. There’s really no excuse to show up completely unorganized if you’re expecting to be paid out top dollar for each category you have with you in a mixed pile. There’s decades worth of video footage online that teaches new customers how to sort their material. The categories of scrap that yards will buy is for the most part comprised of a global standard; a bare, clean, stripped of insulation 12ga copper wire will be considered the same category of material from a yard in Tampa bay to California to Zimbabwe to Paris, while there’s unlimited sources of scrap metal to be found , there is a finite amount of categories this material can fall under and be sold/purchased as. These categories are visually distinctive from each other and as long as you can get your material separated into their respective base metal categories upon bringing it all into a yard, you should be fine and only require a short amount of time from an employee on site who can further sort all of your aluminum metal, for example, into its subcategories of sheet, cast, extruded, alloyed/diecast & etc. But if you’re going to show up with a truck bed full of gutters, wires, auto parts, brass fittings and misc light iron in a mixed heap and than expect an employee to stop what they’re doing, jump in and start pulling out and sorting everything for you…it doesn’t work like that, so don’t be surprised or offended when you’re offered one low price for everything that they’ll have to spend the time sorting afterwards.
The staff is amazing. Raashad and jeff help you to get the best price for all your metals and the office staff is polite as well. I dont go anywhere else

Sitting at the gate 5 minutes before closing time and they say the scales are already clean and shut down I was in aware that open till 3:30 meant we clean and shut down at 3:25

This is my 2nd time coming here and I’ll be coming back . Lot easier than trademark metals with the long lines vs here no lines in and out and everyone talks and says helllo and helps each other out
I bring a lot of mixed hvac material on one trailer which I expect to be a hassle but with the help of Rashad and Rodger at the weigh area they make sure I’m weighed out correctly.

This was my first time ever at a scrap yard and these gentlemen were top-notch they helped out they made me laugh and they took care of me I would highly recommend themy to anybody!
I want to say that I really appreciate all the help you guys do. And your employees are awesome and very helpful and knowledgeable. Really like David has turned the place around and made it a lot smoother when coming there. The staff is amazing, Gerald and Bryan are great out in the back of the yard. Shad and T. Are great on the inside of the shop. And Roger is doing a great job running the scale. So I really have to say to everyone there keep up the great job
Roger and the rest of the crew are super helpful and friendly. First time there and I took my 8 year daughter (life of a single dad). All the men came around to say hi to her and the owner (I think) gave her a little magnet key chain. He also took time to explain the different types of metal. One of the best customer service experiences we've had. Thank you!
Rashad and Roger my two favorite men.. shout out to the new manager also. Don't know how broke I wouldve been if it weren't for the talks we had best described as pure motivation to reach higher. Since I've been coming here it's been one of the greatest learning lessons but y'all never gave up on me and I'm honored to have learned how to reach higher rather than settle. It not only helped my pockets but it also made your jobs easier which I was eager to accomplish. Whenever I come here and see those smiling faces, with the occasional fist bumps its a feeling I look forward to. I know I got a family here at Aceros.
Shad is the best, knows what he’s doing, keeps his men in line. He is always kind and respectful. I have been coming here for years and he is the main reason I come back.
Very rude workers place pays way less will never recommend this place to anybody closes at different hours so if you're there on time and it's already closed you just screwed out of money for the day very rude people very disorganized
I met the new manager / supervisor, not really sure of the title honestly, David on Friday. He seemed very eager to make the business run as smoothly as possible. He's very delightful and professional. I believe he is going to be a great choice for a replacement of management.

Great place to sell your scrap. I'm in and out in minutes. The last time I was there they were understaffed. That being said, I was still in and out in 15 minutes. That quickness is in part because of their employees. Shad is great at what he does and knows how to do it quick. Thanks to you all.
I live in Saint Petersburg and found this place on Google near me to bring some scrap wire. Based on the great reviews I gave it a shot. Literally every associate I came across was nice, talkative, and positive! I felt my prices for my scrap were definitely fair too! I have to mention that the scale guy outside and the scale guys inside were awesome, the guy who pays you was pleasant and nice as well! Reading the reviews, you’ll see this guy SHAD and how everyone loves him, and I’d have to strongly agree! They even took it upon themselves to point out I actually had a bit of upgraded wire which fetched a better price ( I said to myself, wow that’s some honest business! )
This place definitely will receive my a return visit from me, and I hope my next experience here is just as awesome! I’m happy to spread the word too!
I have been going here for a while, I've always been treated so well and been helped with any questions and sometimes even unloading(maybe to get me out of the way, lol). SHAD has been my consistent and I know if there is anything I need to ask, all I have to do is ask. I'm always treated with respect and thanked for coming in. It's so nice to have a local, respectful, friendly and knowledgeable staff from entrance to exit! Thank you for always making it a good experience after a long days work!
