Worst experience ever. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. No customer service skills at all. .👎👎👎

They're charging an illegal fee, above what the county allows, then blaming it on a "state fee" which they refused to say or put in writing saying it "goes to the state". It is not. That is fraud. The HOA and Pinellas Consumer Protection will be informed. I encourage others reading this to inform Pinellas as well to make sure this company faces consequences. I'm coming for you scoundrels 💯 🫵

They sign deals with HOA's and search for cars with new out of date stickers in the middle of the night.

Parked in front of my friend’s house for 2 minutes. They were lurking which they reportedly do around nights and weekends, and towed my car. $350. This is legalized theft.

Absolutely such a Crooked company and rude. Charging customers $250 administration fees and then the towing cost. Shame on the police dept for using them for towing. I see why they have such a low rating. Karma

1 star is a bit too gracious, one has to be impressed with how crafty and unethical this business is. Their business model is, get law inforcement to mandate their services after an accident and then ridiculously inflate the cost of their services to the public. $800 for them to tow a vehicle 5 miles and hold it for 4 days, 2 of the days were without the owner being aware of accrued and growing charges. A1 is a parasitic business that unethically serves our community. Thanks A1!

Predatory business. Very rude staff. Towed our car but then refused to meet us at their junkyard to give it back to us. Edited to add our car was also damaged and it was a rental car.

I have used them several times. They have always been professional, knowledgeable and responsive. I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews.

These people are straight up SCUMBAGS. I've lived here in my complex for 4 years never have a issue with handicap parking cause I have an handicap sticker. They came here at 2 am and towed my vehicle even tho there's an handicap sticker in the truck. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE REPORTED TO THE STATE AND BBB.

Worst people on the planet... charge 300 to tow it for 3 miles and then when you get to the lot to get your vehicle they aren't their, and then tell you it'll take an hour for them to get their. So I have to sit on the curb for an hour and wait for them to come. They could care less about you. Evil people that prey on your wallet. I hope they can't sleep at night, otherwise their is no god

Staff was completely rude to myself and my spouse while recovering a vehicle they never should have towed in the first place. Told my spouse to “get a job”, when I had to take him out of WORK to get our car back!!! We really hope the fine complex that hired these people for “recovery services” will reconsider the towing services they need because this particular outfit is not professional at all. Thanks for reading and be well, things are never what they seem.

Everything they did for me was awesome I had no problems call them right up and they took care of my problem. Thank you so much guys! Very much appreciated. I thought it would be a problem that my car is all wheel drive AWD. No biggie for them.

Very poor attitude by unit 136 today. Speeding thry my neighborhood with kids playing and I was outside. I will be reporting them to BBB also. The driver was not professional at all. He said he had a camera and tomorrow we will find out with the investor. Took cash only . Had no chance. Showed us a gun also.

I don't make it a point to post negative posts but in this case this is absurd and people are being taken advantage of and forced in a bad situation that could be totally avoided with common cutrisy. I wouldn't even give them a star, but it won't accept the post with out it. I think it is a major ripoff, what theyre charging to tow a vehicle. My phone number was on my vehicle, they towed it immediately did not tell us before they did to give us an opportunity to move the vehicle first and charged us over 300 dollars for a couple of hours in a parking lot!! highway robbery, they should be ashamed of themselves, this company needs to rethink Customer service motto. They drive around 5owing cars at the drop if a hat in a plaza parking lot without notice. Watch where you park. My mothers car was towed when she left it by a tires plus for service. Tires plus was mad and they got her car back with out charge, but I was not so lucky. If they really cared about people, they would have given us notice and opportunity or charged us a fair amount. I would never, ever trust them to use them for anyone. I could get 3 years of AAA and multiple tows a year for what they're charging.

Absolutely the worst company ever! It’s a racket and they get away with it. Time for the state’s attorney office to investigate. My girlfriend’s car got towed at 1 am from in front of my house. I’ve had other family and friends park in front of my house for almost 3 years and it’s never been an issue. Paid $235 to get the car back. I’m sick of people getting away with this kind of thing without any recourse.

MONEY GRAB COMPANY 90 year old grandmothers car taken from her apartment at 1:03 am. It has been parked in the same handicap parking site for a year. I drove her car and parked it in the evening and forgot to put hang tag on mirror and at 1:03 in the morning this predatory company towed it. I went to her Bell Lansbrook apartment office and they coldly said “Probably towed! we give the towing company full rights to tow vehicles parked illegally”. The car was not parked illegally. The car is registered with apartment and has a disability tag. I showed A1 Towing the handicap tag that was in car, hoping they would at least give discount-but no. Loretta (company receptionist) was nice and kept saying “I feel so bad charging your elderly mother, but thats the company policy. Please bring $217 cash”. Shame on Bell Lansbrook for hiring such a money grab company and not having a system to at least give a warning-especially in handicap spots. All it would have taken is for towing company to be required to call office before they remove a car from the property. It’s very well known by neighbors and office that she is the one who parks in this space-everyday. My fault for forgetting to put tag up-but really! 5-6 hours not up and it’s towed in the middle of the night. BEWARE if you live in Bell Lansbrook!!! If your car is missing from the lot-A1has it. We saw the tow truck prowling around last night at midnight.

Like everyone else here, I wish I could give negative reviews. Walked out of my condo this morning to find my car gone. I suspected it was towed, and sure enough, A-1 had towed it for “expired plates.” Plates weren’t expired; we simply hadn’t gotten the new expiration date sticker on there yet. They are claiming that they have no way to verify if the plates are actually expired or not. Fun fact, anyone can look up that information on this helpful invention called the Internet. Probably the HOA’s fault for hiring such a predatory outfit, but I have already filed a complaint with Pinellas County and am considering a lawsuit. Don’t ever hire this unethical and irresponsible business.

Today i was accidentally towed. I produced parking payment receipt and they simply said come get your car. It cost me $42 in an Uber and they offered no refund for my lost time or Uber payment. This is unacceptable and I will report to the better business bureau. Unethical and no empathy for the errors the committed today.

I refused to have my car towed because the guy was intoxicated. I called another company and he still tried to charge me. He cussed and screamed at me, then drove off. I attempted to call company, no one answered. BAD EXPERIENCE.

2 stars for arriving 45 minutes faster than AAA. It was dark and I was in a busy intersection so the police officer said they needed to get me out and they called for a tow. Zero stars for charging me $161.66 to tow my car 1/2 mile to my house! They were "too busy" to tow it to a shop 6 miles away.

Friend's car was stolen by A1 and Nielsen. When my roommate had a seizure at work and wasn't cleared for a while, Nielsen had his car towed. No one, including Nielsen, bothered to tell him. No tow zone signs, nothing. Two cars have been there for over a year but they haven't been towed. Not to mention he WORKS THERE and everyone knew of his situation. His car was at A1 for 8 days, literally having been towed less than a block from his job. It's was $806 to get it out. Which means the initial tow was $560???? They don't take credit cards. Only cash or debit (credit cards can be disputed). But when we went there, almost immediately the woman behind the glass started saying she wasn't going to argue with us, etc kept talking over us. They have a contract with the police department so the officer told him there's nothing he can do and made it clear that "I am a deputy sheriff... and I'll make a note that you're threatening the employees of A1." We finally went to pick it up after waiting an additional 5 hours. When he finally got his car, cash had been stolen from the console so they clearly got into it. There's a reason they have 1.9 stars.

Last Friday, June 28 at 11:10 as I’m leaving my apartment I go to the space where my car was and it was gone. So it either was stolen or it was towed. I’m new to the area that I don’t know so I go to the office and I speak to the manager. She gives me the phone number to the tow company, but she doesn’t have any other information. I called the tow company and I leave a message. I called back to other times and I get their voicemail so I called the sheriffs department to have them check to see if it was either reported as a tow or I was gonna make a police report that it was stolen. After confirming with the sheriffs department, I called the A1 recovery back and they state they have my car and that it was an unauthorized parking space I do have a handicap placard and she states that they did not see it OK she also states that my bill was $340 which is a lot of money and evidently they had picked my car up on Wednesday but since I work from home, I wasn’t aware until Friday . I had my neighbor who is 94 years old. Her car was towed out of parking space for handicap because they said hers wasn’t displayed either. So I go to pick up my car and they gave me a discount only paid $120 per David which is fair because I would’ve went sooner if I would’ve known about it sooner. I did not inspect my car before I left my mistake. I drove around for about an hour then something got caught up in my tire and it was flopping everywhere. I pulled into the complex as it happened. The wheel wheel liner had separated from the bumper and it was wrapped around my tire well. I go to the manager of the complex and basically she states that they’re not liable. They don’t have anything to do with it and so I need to reach out to A1 recovery which I did and I have yet to hear back from them because of this issue, I am reviewing my receipt and there was no indication on here about anything at all other than no handicap tag. As you can see the liner was ripped off of the front bumper and I am not getting a response from them. They haven’t called me back and so I see why they have 1.9 ratings here on Google. I now have a handicap plate just like my neighbor she wouldn’t got a plate so we don’t have to worry about this again, but I don’t think it’s fair that I’m not getting response from this company.

I wish I could give no stars, but I have to pick something. This company illegally tried to tow mine and my husband's semi truck from a publix Plaza. I was in the truck while my husband ran inside to shop. They then told my husband that since they were hooked, it was 445$ to drop it. What other choice did he have? We contacted publix and the property management company both of which confirmed they NEVER called anyone to tow us. Since we were only stopping in to shop. This tow company is running a huge scam and literally practicing illegal activities. We have a complaint in to the BBB, I don't even know how these people are still in business.

Absolutely dreadful company and I hope to never have the displeasure of dealing with them again. PREDATORY towing. Took my vehicle for "invalid registration" when I tried to show them my registration was current and asked why they didn't check my Vin (which they should have) they claimed they have no way to do it. It's right online guys. I checked with 3 other towing companies about the situation and each one said that it was wrong of them to tow my car and they're supposed to check the Vins beforehand. These people literally shrugged at me and said I don't know, and that's the way it is. I went back and called and a manager was supposed to reach out, never heard from anyone. Reps give the same answer "thats the way it is". They just want to rip people off and hope we hate dealing with them enough that they'll get to steal your money and you wont pursue it. Someone please shut them down and save us from them!

I don’t think there’s too many people that like dealing with Tow Truck companies, but with situation I must give CREDIT WHEN IT’S DUE! My vehicle was left overnight becauseI had flat tire, I advise the Property manager about my situation and he wrote on a business card “do not tow” and signed his name. I tapped it on the window, but it more than likely lost the adhesive since it’s only 102 degrees outside in Tampa. The next day, I come back with a Jack and spare tire to find out my truck has been towed. I called and spoke with a customer service rep. he was very respectful. He advised me the manager on duty Mr. David would be calling me. Within 20 minutes he did! He was humane and did not act systematic by any means. I have him a brief description of what happened, Without hesitation he offered to bring back my truck with no charge! Thank you for being courteous, respectful and humane! 5+ STARS for this awesome manager!

My daughter's car was literally stolen from the parking lot at the apartment where we live. Their reason was because her drivers side tires were on the yellow line. The parking lot wholes four vehicles. My neighbors vehicle, my wife vehicle, my vehicle and my daughter's vehicle. We park close together for the reason of not hitting the car on the end. Which has a steep incline. After paying $178.00 to release my daughter's car, I feel robbed with out a 🔫 gun. To add insult the lady that took my money, I asked her name. She stated that her name was A1 Towing, seriously 😐. Then she closed the window in my face. Do not use this business under any circumstances. If you have to push your vehicle, do. That company gives Pinellas County a bad look.

Stole my car off my private property at 2am cause I had a two month expired tag. Workers are all jerks and super unsympathetic to their robbery. Horrible company full of sharks. Good for them that they’ve made a legal living robbing middle class americans. Keep up the great work “A1”
