Great place to get great deals on construction supply's they have doors galore. Friendly , organized , not to hard to find I'm glad to discover the place.
Large selection of building materials. Very reasonable prices. Super friendly staff. I highly recommend making this your stop before one of the big box stores.
Had 3 doors built and the quality was laughable. Exterior door frame was 1/2” out of square, wrong jams were installed on wrong doors, hinges were improperly installed, doors didn’t sit flush when closed, thresholds were wrong. Literally every piece was wrong. Buying basic materials here is fine, but anything that must be built is terrible quality. Contractor had to spend 3 days correcting mistakes to install 3 doors.
Found Thomas Surplus on FB marketplace and I was a little hesitant to make to long drive down from Orlando after short responses to my inquires, but it was worth the drive. Keep in mind this is not a #1 grade lumber supplier, if you want that go to your lumber store and pay. They carry a large assortment of lumber which is generally in better shape than what you find at your box stores, but since there are few sheds, the lumber is stored outside and weathered somewhat. The price difference makes up for the cosmetics as the lumber is still structurally sound. I dealt with Rich and he had to deal with several customers during my visit. Be patient and the staff are friendly and helpful. Cash works best, but there is a sign that they accept credit cards. To get the most out of shopping here, you should be familiar with lumber grades, treatments and pricing, but the staff will answer your questions if asked. Would recommend.
Drove all the way from Lakeland to Dade City to shop some exterior doors. Tried calling beforehand to make sure they’re open, line perpetually rings. Website says they're open, "New Hours" poster on the front gate says they're open 8-5 on Saturdays, yet we're here at 12:30pm and there's a big "Closed" sign on the gate. When we got here, we tried calling both cell and office numbers, both voicemail boxes are full. Can’t believe it’s this hard to give someone your money nowadays. Really frustrating and not coming all the way back out here no matter their prices.
The drive was worth it prices about half of the box stores same doors brand new service great fast pleseant I will go back again and I recommend them very highly.
