They did a great job installing new control arms on my truck. I haven't had any problems and my truck drives better than before. Prices were very fair and customer service was top notch!

Daughters car and checking it thoroughly before giving it back to her to make sure it was safe for her to drive. Will always take my vehicles to them.
I was here a few years ago and was never back since. I had a pinture in the sidewall on one of my tires and so it need replaced. I had bought the car not months earlier and had road hazard Insurance. They told me to take it to the place I bought it and refused my business, not no reason, even though I had road hazard. This place only services their friends and family and don't care about anyone else.
This is going to be long! My dad broke down at the dump. He thought his battery went out,had a friend come with jumper cables,wouldn't start. Said friend is mechanically inclined,said he thought it may be the starter. Dad's insurance paid a tow for a few miles. So dad had Gilchrist pick him up. Well later in the day the man working there says oh it's the battery. Put a new battery in and it wasn't that. So they did the starter. That's what it was although even with a new starter the car still didn't start properly. The guy had to show them how to start it?? It should have started buy turning the key once right?? Well to get to the starter ,you have to remove the wheel well. Go in behind the front tire . When my dad gets his car back,he's driving home and the whole wheel well comes off driving down the road!!! Gilchrist never put it back on properly. When my dad calls up there,the lady who took the call acted mad like it was my dad's fault and she was bothered. Before my dad leaves there. They tell him ,"by the way, your belt looks bad. It may break on your way home. It breaks, literally half way home. Coincidence? So the lady my dad talked to says they'll order another wheel well and let my dad know when to bring the car back up to replace it as it was damaged when it came off. So a few days go by and dad calls and they lady , again was rude and acted like it was a problem for her to fix what they caused ,and tells my dad annoyingly that the part hasn't came in yet. While dad is on the phone , he asks for his battery back seeing as how he didn't request a new one and before they put it in they never asked my dad ,did he want them to change it. Any mechanic I have ever been to has asked me my permission to replace parts. They'd let me know what was wrong,how much it would cost,and if I wanted them to proceed with the work. Well Gilchrist took it upon themselves to do this. So anyways when my dad asks this,they say ,oh we don't have the old one anymore. So dad calls his regular mechanic he has used for the last couple of years, Mr.Jude out of Cheifland ,who is a wonderful person and amazing mechanic and reasonably priced. Mr Jude has to fix what Gilchrist didn't so my dad didn't have to attempt to start the car multiple times,as he has to do after it getting"fixed" at Gilchrist. So Gilchrist charged my dad for a new battery,which he never asked for and was denied his back. He was charged for all of the other work as well of course. He ended paying a bit more the $800.00. Then turns around and gas to pay another mechanic to fix his car again,properly this time. . And thats why I give Gilchrist Auto 1 star.
Can’t speak highly enough for the service that we received recently. My husband child and I were on the way for a family weekend away with our boat when we had a blow out. It was after hours and we were about 20+miles out of town but we called the office to see if by chance they were available to help us with a new tire. Not only did they come back change our 2 tires as he checked and the other tire and it was also bad, he had tires on rims that fit our boat trailer so he gave us his tires to use for our trip and told us to have a safe trip and catch up with him Monday when we got back as the office was closed. 100% saved our family trip away. Can’t thank him enough for his service and kindness. It’s nice to have a family friendly business that cares so deeply for their customers.
I would have left 0 stars if it allowed. I made an appt. for today at 8 am to have a lug replaced. I arrived at about 7:45 and waited maybe 5 minutes for someone to arrive. At 10 til 8 the owner and his wife showed up and I went inside. I walked to the counter and the wife says nothing and stares at me. I explained I had a 8 o'clock appt. to do a lug. She says we'll you will have to sit down and wait for the mechanic to arrive. I explained that I would walk down to Akiens to have breakfast. Gave her my keys and asked if they would look at my throttle cable as it was sticking on me during the drive there. The lady looks at me and say I can't do that we had you down for a lug. I then said can't you look at it while I'm here and maybe hit it with some spray lubricant. She didn't answer me and I said never mind and proceeded to leave. Once at my truck I realized she had my keys so I went back in to retrieve them. As I walked in now she wants to talk about them doing the work. I responded no ma'am not with the attitude. At this point the owner come from around a corner hollar and cussing. He says I've seen your post on FB and you got an attitude. I proceeded to leave and he wants to continue with the verbal abuse while walking me out the door. If you like being verbally abused go here.
As usual Michael and Jennifer fixed everything on my mom's clunker. And they are going to do another tune-up for my latest ride at a great price.
They also have farm accessories, batteries, tools and the like.
Took our f350 there and was shocked at the level of service and professionalism showed my mike and his staff. Very impressed. The job was done right and they are affordable. We will be back.. update: we've been back several times and the people are just salt of the earth good people. We use them frequently( a little too frenquently, but not their fault)... we will continue to support this local business!! UPDATE: the owners truly care and when they are able and have time, go way above and beyond. Let's just say we had a terrible issue that was threatening to undercut our business and Mike and Jen rose to the occasion AGAIN... TY
Great mechanics. It took a little time to get all the repairs completed but considering my vehicle has 340,000 miles, it needed quite a bit of work.
Quality workmanship and very prices with old time values and customer service.
Mike an his son and Chester are my hero they get me fix fast so I can do my job fast keeping customers happy is are goals and helping are locals feel like family....
Had engine replace it cost over $2000.00 for a 2004 Ford Freestar they never did it by the book if they would have done it by the book they would have changed out the seals on the transmission because the seal behind the torch converter was not replaced and 100% of the time it is done when changen out a engine and know he wants me to pay a nother$800.00 to a $1000.00 when it should have been done when he did the work
