Honest, reliable and dependable service
Thanks to Gary and his team for repairing my brakes on Monday. Although the VW Dealer had provided a 6-point inspection and a list of things needing repair, the only repair the car needed was a brake replacement, which the Dealer only mentioned in passing as I received the printed list, on which it was not included.
Wonderful shop! I was having a bad day and forgot about my appointment. They were super nice (Lorenzo and his counterpart both) and they let me come in late and still did my oil change. Super honest team and I highly reccomend them!
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but this experience warrants one.
I brought my Jeep in for an oil leak — a job that should have been routine — and after two failed repair attempts, the leak still wasn’t fixed. I ended up doing the work myself, and only then did I discover what really went wrong: they hadn’t followed proper procedure, even though they told me they had.
After the second failed attempt, I sent them clear instructions referencing official factory guidance and noted the use of anaerobic RTV, which is explicitly required at the rear main seal cap and bearing cap ends. This is not optional — even the Jeep service manual calls for anaerobic RTV. So what manual were they using exactly?
They told me it had been done “by the book” and assured me anaerobic RTV had been used.
It hadn’t.
When I reopened the engine myself, I found black RTV, which is the wrong product. That’s either a straight-up lie, or they had no idea what was actually done. Both are unacceptable.
To be clear: I don’t believe Gabe was at fault. He treated me with respect, and I think he genuinely tried to help. My impression is that the techs are likely overwhelmed due to how busy this shop is. But that still doesn’t excuse the fact that I clearly told them what to do after the second attempt, and they ignored it. That mistake cost me a huge amount of time.
What made it worse was the process: after each failed attempt, I had to go back to the end of the line, waiting a week and a half just to be seen again. So this dragged on for nearly two months.
They eventually refunded me, which I do appreciate. But the fact is: if I wasn’t mechanically inclined and able to redo the job myself, I can’t imagine how much worse and more frustrating this would have been. And in the end, I was the one who fixed it — by doing it correctly.
That says everything.
I had a great experience at Larry’s Auto Repair. The team was not only efficient with the repair I needed, but also incredibly friendly and honest. I came in expecting to get a particular service done, but they let me know it wasn’t urgent and could be handled down the line—no pressure, no upsell. That kind of transparency is rare and really appreciated. I’ll definitely be coming back.
I got a recommendation from my colleague, who has been there since 2021. She told me they were perfect and professional! It is the ideal place to do maintenance or anything with your car in terms of fantastic service or fix your car, etc. Price was under $100 to do maintenance for my vehicle. I saved over $300 because my dealership was trying to charge for that $400! So guys, go there if you care about your car and money. I highly recommend that place! I take my car to Larry’s for the annual check-up every year since 2018. Gary and his team are professional and reliable. This year, my car required more than just a routine inspection; there were several repairs needed. Lorenzo explained everything my car required before proceeding with the work, and I was pleasantly surprised by the final price. Quite frankly, the amount I paid for the repairs was fair and honest.
I have been going here for over 5 years and Gary is the most honest and best mechanic out there. Always greets with a smile and remembers who I am when I bring my car. 10/10 recommend to anyone in the area or outside (I drive 25 min to go to him). Great guy and business and will miss it when I move back to NY.

Big thanks to Gary who quickly solved a weird problem I was having with my automatic trunk door. Him and his team are always great and truly provide service with a smile. And most importantly, they are Honest - if there's nothing wrong with your car they will tell you that, not make up something to get a few bucks out of you. Other auto shops could learn a lesson from these guys!
Gary and his team are amazing! I had a unique situation with both the timing of the repair and what needed to be completed. It was a heavy duty job (Power Steering Rack/Pinion Assembly Replacement).
They were super helpful in accommodating my needs. That said, going forward my appointments will be scheduled way ahead of time (as they should be) and I’ll be taking my business to Larry’s Service Center each time. My vehicle is older and has a lot of miles so I’m sure I’ll be seeing Gary and the team again soon ;).
Quick, Up Front, and Honest!
My check engine light came on so I took my car to Larry's. Turns out it was just a computer error and the engine was fine. They fixed the errorr for me and did not charge me anything! Larry's Service Center is now my go to mechanic!
Larry's team is very professional! I made an appointment a week before, when I arrived I waited maybe 10 minutes for them to start working on my car so they are very prompt as well. I took my car for an oil change and oil filter change. I asked if I should leave the car or wait for it since I had to be at work at 9 am ( my appointment was at 8 am). They asked to wait and my car was ready by 8:30 am. I will definitely will be bringing back my car for its routine oil change to Larry's!
lm lucky that l ve found that place. Always had an idea that Miami Beach was expensive for those kind of services NO Larry ‘s is a lot cheaper than most other car services. They really great took care of my Mercedes in a short time. Would highly recommend this auto shop! They were very professional, very helpful & had great prices. Best auto service center in Miami, hands down. All the guys have been working there a long time, which for me is very important because they get to know you and your car and more importantly, what you want/need from them. Gary is awesome - he's been the manager for over 2 decades and is very professional, personable, and above all, truly honest. No rip-offs here, period. A shout-out to Walter and Gabriel who are also long-timers there and do great work. Prices are reasonable and the most important thing is, they won't sell you something you don't need. Really great place and guys. Very happy I found them 16+ years ago cuz I don't go anywhere else for my car's needs. Just went there on 6/23/23 for service and always quality work at very decent, non-dealer prices!
I went to Larry's because I had a screw in my tire and thankfully it did not need to be plugged or replaced. Even though it did not need to be serviced, he quickly took to screw out and I was on my way without being charged. There are not many businesses here in South Beach that actually cater to the locals but this is definitely one of them. It's great to see places like this still surviving in South Beach and still providing the community with important services.
Clearly In class of there own . Truly one of the best services I’ve ever had for any of my cars in over 20+years. The integrity from start to finish was reminiscent of privately owned shop that has the sincere attention to detail for your car whether you have a collectors car or a daily drive they will advice you in great direction.

As soon as I spoke to Larry’s I understood why they get such good reviews. I had driven from Detroit to Miami, had a problem with my Toyota FJ and had no idea who to turn to. They understood the problem, ordered parts and fit me into their schedule the following day. I had hardly gotten comfortable in the waiting room when they came to tell me they were done. And… the price was half of what I expected to pay. If I lived anywhere near Miami Beach, there is no question that they would be my go-to service spot.
A massive shout-out to Walter who exceeded my expectations with how efficient and quick my tires were serviced. He's so sweet and gave impeccable service! Prices are very reasonable and the most important thing is, they are genuine masters at their work. I feel so lucky to have found them right in my neighborhood and will be back for all my other needs.
One of the last service shops on the beach and you can tell how they've stayed in business for so long. Excellent customer service and honest work.
I would recommend to go here before anywhere else. Especially if you have reservations about mechanic shops pulling one over on you. Its one of the only shops I've been to in Miami that I felt like they weren't going to try and pull some funny business.
I always take my vehicles to Larry’s. My windshield wiper fluid was not working. When I refilled the fluid it was gone within an hour. I dropped it off at Larry’s. Gary called me in a hour and said he was fixed. When I went to pick it up, he said no charge. It was something minor that took 5 minutes to fix. I don’t know of many businesses that are this honest and loyal to their customers.This place is one of a kind and if you are not taking your cars here, you are missing out on exceptional service and incredibly kind people. You do not get this treatment anywhere.

Having some issues with my car, I found Larry's on line. Their reviews seemed real and were awesome! So I had my car towed there. Gabriel assisted me through the entire estimate and repair process. He answered all of my questions before I agreed to have my suggested repairs done, and was there all the way until I picked up my car. Excellent service (my car was repaired and it was done quickly) for a great price in my opinion. I highly recommend this business.
Larry’s was awesome! Great place to take your car for service. They were kind and professional, and even offer a first timer discount (I think it was 10%). Gabriel is the person with whom I worked and I would happily work with him again.

I have a Jaguar S Type 2004. When my best friend recommend them, believe me was the best she can done for me. Larry’s Service are so professional, on time, honest and highly so kind we all customers. I travel every day 26 miles to go to my job, and the same miles to come back to my home. Always great experience.. My third visit there.. Outstanding attention to detail, honest, and very clean work. Jose, the service advisor is superb. Walter by far is the best technician I've encountered on the beach by far. I mentioned I was hearing some nose coming from rear of vehicle, and he quickly discovered it was my tag frame that was loose. He completed service, and surprised me by strategically placing some tie wraps to properly secure the frame so it wouldn't vibrate and make nose. It's that level of attention to detail that will keep me a customer for life. I highly recommend this service center.
Extremely satisfied with Larry’s!! I brought my car in to be checked over and have the tired aligned since I didn’t do it when I originally put new tires on. I am about to go on a road trip and wanted them to look over my entire car to make sure I am good for a long trip. I picked the car up 2 hours later and they were so honest with me telling me the tires didn’t need to be aligned and I didn’t need any work done. It’s hard to come across an honest mechanic shop and I really appreciate how honest they always are and significantly more affordable than other shops I’ve been to in the past. Thanks!
I am a new resident of South Beach and needed brakes on my 2008 Audi. I found Larry’s with a yelp search and noticed they had almost a perfect 5 star rating with over 150 reviews. Here is another one! I brought my car by the afternoon before for a quote, they ordered the parts, I dropped my car off at noon the next day & it was finished by 3pm. Honest mechanics and a good value from a local business. I highly recommend Larry’s for any auto repair.
I have been a client for over 12 years with several different cars. They are always courteous, efficient, and most importantly, honest. Their fees are very reasonable. They never recommend anything you don’t need or try to sell you extra services. I guess this is why they are always busy. I highly recommend this shop. Gary is the main guy there and he’s awesome. Over the years him and his staff have become friends. The owner Mark is also great and it shows because his employees have been there for years.
Larry's Service Center has been caring for my vehicle a 2007 Mitsubishi eclipse GT for Nine years now; from a simple oil change to mayor work and tune up's with on going maintenance.
