I honestly feel bad for anyone who goes here to sell their car. I went yesterday with my 2020 Toyota RAV4 and told the salesperson upfront that CarMax had already offered me $16,000. He assured me they usually beat CarMax and said he would make me an offer. During the inspection, he pointed out every minor detail on the car—things I was already fully aware of—which felt more like an attempt to devalue it than a real inspection. Afterward, he came back and claimed CarMax would “never” pay $16,000 and said the most he could offer was $13,000. He also tried to sell it as a benefit that they would pay me immediately, while CarMax would supposedly hold the check until the loan was paid off. I declined and went to Carvana today. They inspected the car, didn’t nitpick minor issues, and honored their online offer of $16,000 exactly. Best part? I walked out with the check in hand. Do NOT take a chance here. At the very least, go to CarMax before accepting an offer from this place. What they’re doing is shameful, and I genuinely feel sorry for people who are desperate and end up getting taken advantage of.
