Illegal towing practices! Will enter your car, illegally, remove the temporary parking passes given by the front office of your residence, tow your car and then claim that there was no "visible permit". Had a permit, went to sleep, (2/22/26), had my car towed, and upon getting my car back, there were no permits inside the vehicle, including the one that would be valid from 2/20/26-2/23/26. Asked the front counter clerk, and they denied entering the car, showing pictures of the exterior, but the permits vanished into thin air while I was sleeping?
I was coming down Orange Ave from FAMU in Tallahassee around 5:30pm on 01/14/2026 and ended up with a flat tire due to something puncturing it heading towards their building. I turned in as my back left tire hit 0 for pressure. I went in to the office to see if anyone could help, to which the woman behind the counter told me "Nobody here can help you."
NOT EVEN 20 MINUTES LATER (Post clock out): Three guys walked out of the office (Stan and John, plus 1 more). Stan notices me and asks if I have a spare and need assistance. I respond yes to both. He turns to go get a jack and John follows. They come back with NOT ONLY a jack but also a drill to make the process faster.
Signage to get their number was clear and easy to find. When I called, they picked up quickly (no exaggerated hold time). The lady who answered instructed me on what to do and costs. The transaction was easy and tap to pay friendly. Chime has this weird thing that they ask for the pin that I can’t seem to get pass but the front desk lady knew what to do. I wasn’t there no more than 10 minutes. The owner is a cool guy too. Thanks again.
Before going to see where my car was i read the reviews they weren't very nice so I didn't know what to expect I called and the young lady was quiet pleasant I went in she was even nicer and I told her your reviews are disturbing. Long story short don't believe everything you read.they were very helpful Thanks for helping.
Wholly unprofessional. Towed my car through no fault of my own. They need to actually contribute something to society rather than mooching off of students who can't possibly know any better.
Dirtiest tow place ever they had roaches inside the building and they tow your car into a big muddy field and it smells so bad in there and their tow truck driver will yank your bumper off the front be careful with this tow company dirty and just horrible
Had a random car parked in my apartment’s reserved spot. Driver came and handled it quickly. Very professional and fast service, will call again if needed.
P.S. all the bad reviews seem to be people who parked in someone else’s spot and had to pay the price…
Some of the most rude customer service of all time. I had to park in a resident spot instead of a visitor spot because there’s construction going on which removes probably 30+ parking spots. So nobody has anywhere to park and they tow me instead of the people in the tow away zones and the people literally parked in the streets. So ridiculous.
Cannot think of a better waste of my time and money, had a rental car for a night because my engine seized and after all that I still had to deal with these guys swooping in for their payday, costed me 160$ when it should’ve been nothing since might I mention I LIVE AT THE RESIDENCE.
charging for getting towed is fine, but 35$ extra for doing their job is obnoxious. i’m sorry you had to use a dolly to take my car, it’s like that’s your job, i’m sorry you had to go out of your way to take my car. all new car is going to have an emergency electric brake
Not only did you tow my son's car in 2 minutes of him being wrong, you ripped the under carriage piece in your rush to take the car away. That will be another $200 at least on top of the tow. You suck
Terrible company that makes a living off of towing people 20 minutes after they park. Will do anything to turn a profit and probably the rudest customer service in Tallahassee.
All I’m going to say is avoid getting towed by these people at all costs or it’s gonna cost you. On top of $135 if your cars like mine and needs to be picked up by all four wheels, they’ll charge you a $35 inconvenience fee for them using a dolly to take your car. Overall $165 to get your car back. I’ve also had to help pay a friend get his car back after they towed him from his OWN apartment complex, parking decal and all. Again be cautious. If they tow you from your own property contact the property manager before paying.
I had a terrible experience with this towing company. My car was wrongfully towed from a parking lot where I was told it was fine to park. When I called to ask why, they gave me inaccurate information and refused to help. The staff was rude, and they refused to do anything to resolve the issue. I had to pay a high towing fee for a mistake that wasn’t mine. This company is unprofessional and unhelpful spreading misinformation to scam people.
Excellent, prompt service! Mr. Hobkirk got the car out of a tiny parking lot with difficult turns to get it to the mechanic. Very respectful, professional service.
great service all around i had my car turned off of my own mistake and the person who helped me was very professional unlike other towing company’s and make the process of me bringing my car off the lot very easy. I brought my dog as well and he was given a treat and treated very well by the employee.
I know this will unfortunately probably get buried by 1 star reviews of people who are upset their vehicle got towed (figures) but I wanted to leave a positive review here as the team at Hobkirk is respectful, accommodating, and prompt in their services, and are not deserving of the negative reviews that they receive.
