Verizon's roadside assistance picked 5 Star to tow my car. Raph was amazing! He arrived quickly and had my car towed in no time. He was super friendly too!
AAA sent a driver to my home. He was very careful loading my SUV. He let me ride to the dealership with him so I could pick up a loaner if needed. Excellent, friendly service!
Mr Raphael (booda) was very helpful with giving me a tow home and helping me park my car. He has great customer service and shows pride in his work thanks again.
They showed up promptly got my wife’s car loaded up and towed to the shop quickly and professionally. The driver was friendly and I would definitely give them a call again if I need a tow in the future.

**WARNING** No Stars for 5 star Towing. They should change the name of the company to Zero Star towing & Roadside. This company is the worst. We had a horrible experience trying to tow a car via AAA from Tallahassee to 175 miles away. They gave us the run around all day and they hardly answer the phone. And when they do answer, they lie and say the drive is 15 minutes away or less than 60 minutes away. They were supposed to come between 10-12 PM and showed up at 4:30 PM. When they dropped the car of at the mechanic in Jacksonville, they left the car on the sidewalk on a very busy street. No phone call to us or AAA that the job was complete. The mechanic had no idea it was our car until we called him and asked if the car was there because of where they left the car. They thought it was an abandoned car on the sidewalk. These people have zero common sense. On top of that, the car was left unlocked with the keys in the ignition. You can't make this up! If you are assigned to this company, ask for another company right away. I would have rated them Zero stars but I couldn't, had to select something, ugh!
One ⭐ because there wasn't a zero. Totally Unprofessional driver. Towed my car through AAA without me being present. Failed to communicate and let me know that they towed it. Didn't answer my calls or texts to find out where my car was. I will NEVER use Star Automotive / Towing again!!
Dumpster fire. Towed the wrong vehicle, and then spent the whole day rectifying the issue. No urgency. If you were gonna bend me over ask me out first.
I was in awe of how fast Mo got our car out of the hole we accidentally drove it into. He was professional and he made sure the car did not get damaged. He did a great job. I will recommend them to my family and friends.
This tow company was assigned to us by a rental company due to a flat tire on a rental car. The driver showed up an hour after the app said he was already on site. Then he showed up with a vehicle on the rollback and unable to take the rental car. The driver told us he had to take the car back to the rental company despite the rental company telling us it needed to be taken to a tire retailer that they already had arranged to do the repair. He left and an hour and a half later showed back up loaded the car and hauled it.to a different retailer. Worst experience with a tow company I have ever had. Would not recommend.
Looks like these folks are used to 1 star reviews. Good Sam dispatched them for a car jump. They were a NO SHOW. They won’t pick up their phone, will NOT return a message that was left. Good Sam please don’t dispatch these guys again.
Don’t use them. Don’t let AAA assign this company to . I waited from 10:20am to 2:00pm, before I had AAA reassign my request to another company. Stupid me they just kept lying to me. Ohhh we are coming at in 1 hour oh an 1 1/2. Save yourself from frustration don’t use them. Don’t do it!
So tonight I had an unusual request. I need to move a treadmill and Uhaul systems were down. I got creative and called 5 star towing. They did amazing. Big Mo is the man. They went over and beyond with excellent communication, a positive attitude and professional service. Make sure to call them directly and not use the dispatch service that tries to put their phone number first. This local family run business will have my business always. Great job tonight guys.
I was in a wreck where my vehicle was totaled and they towed my suburban to their shop. They left it unlocked and am now missing over $1500 in items. Amplifier for subs, sound controller, misc. Tools, tool bags, etc. Owner told me to 'tell my insurance and they'll take care of it' Let me tell you insurance definitely can't do anything about it. Contact the police like I should have, don't let these things get by like I sadly did!
The Worst Company I’ve ever worked with, even using AAA. Spoke to them on a Friday and was told they would pick vehicle up at 8pm never showed or answered our calls. Saturday updated their system that they were onsite- never showed, Sunday no show. Sunday evening AAA set an appointment for Monday morning, guess what.. no show, Tuesday no show and when I spoke to dispatch, she told me they were the only ones in Tally that towed out of town so we were stuck and the owner told her if he gets a local call he’s taking it so maybe we will get a turn. It’s Wednesday afternoon finally picked up the vehicle and was told we can’t give u an eta bc now we have two cars going out of town so we don’t know when we will get to you! Horrible I will abandon my vehicle before I EVER work with them again!
The Driver and Operator was Tre’ who is a very competent young man who made a terrible experience pleasant.
Our tow resulted from AAA. Yes, we had to wait 3 hours before the tow truck arrived but we expected it since it would be a 200 mile trip (3 hours one way) to our home and mechanic. We were stuck on I-10 east of Tallahassee on a hot afternoon. After informing AAA, we received a call from 5 Star to determine our specific location and a very broad eta of when we could expect the tow truck.
The operator, Tre’, examined our problem, determined it did require a tow and expertly picked up our ¾ pickup truck. Tre’ was experienced in hooking up and driving. He took both of us to the mechanic then home. We consider ourselves very fortunate.
This company is running a scam business. My boyfriend had an accident and they were called by the city, when he explained we were less than a mile from the house and were going to call AAA the driver advised no they won’t come out for hours and advised him this place worked on axel issues and can get it running. Only to have to pay$450+ for 2 days of storage and fee with no quote we decided to pick up and finally called AAA, only to find that they are AAA sponsors. So the rip the customer off and later get business from AAA
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I hired this company to tow my car, and it was a nightmare. When I got my car back, my doors were left unlocked, and all of my belongings were stolen. To make matters worse, I was told that my keys were nowhere to be found, yet the mechanic at the shop where it was towed was able to open the doors. Additionally, the charger compartment in the backseat was completely detached. I tried reaching out to the driver, but he blocked me. I also contacted the company, but I’ve received no response or solution. I wanted this situation to be handled professionally, but it looks like I’ll need to take further action. Do yourself a favor and avoid this run-down, unprofessional towing company. Choose a more reputable option.
I have had to have my vehicle towed twice in the last two months. 5 Star Towing has come each time. They were very prompt and came when they said they would. They were professional, prompt and personable.
I will not hesitate to use them again or refer them to others!
5 Star Automotive showed up to tow my truck to another more expensive place for repairs. The driver talked to me and said their shop could handle the repairs so despite the bad reviews online I had them take it to their shop. They promptly answered the phone each time called and responded to texts immediately. They diagnosed and repaired my vehicle at a fraction of the cost of the other place. My family and I will be using 5 Star Automotive for any future auto repairs.
Please think before discounting using their services because of reviews. Most of the bad reviews are due to towing. There are other factors at play that cause delays in tow. Probably primarily what your discount auto club wants to pay for your towing.
I was attending a game from out of town when my power steering went out. I called AAA was told 2 hours, driver was there in 15 mins. They towed my truck to a shop I chose and after 3 days and that shop quoted me an outrageous amount then told me they couldn’t fix it anyhow. I called 5 star to tow it to another shop and they offered to fix it for me I was nervous about the reviews but went ahead anyway. They fixed me up fast for a fraction of the price of the other shop. He knew I was not from around there and could have taken advantage but didn’t. Highly recommended.
DO NOT ALLOW AAA TO SEND THIS COMPANY! My car broke down so I called for a tow. I was told it would be 1-2 hours until someone would arrive. After 2 hours I called 5 star automotive to ask when they would arrive and they told me I would get a call from the driver. I waited and called back a after another 2 hours and the lady did not give me an answer on when they would arrive and hung up on me. Eventually someone did show up but I was stranded for over 5 hours. They are incredibly unreliable and should not be in business.
5 Star has been very patient with me when it comes to handling my unique car situation, and I’m incredibly grateful to them for this. While we did have some communication issues at the beginning, this was resolved. Don’t let the other reviews deter you - I recommend calling them during work hours as this is when they are responsive. I have had no issue getting a hold of them when calling between those hours. I mention this because I believe they may work towing after-hours, as this is how I was connected with them, through AAA.
While I have not had my car officially repaired, they did provide me with two itemized lists (one with repairs and one for diagnostic alone), which I found very helpful. Thank you!
AAA Dispatched at 7:35 am with 1 - 3 hr window. Called AAA to find out how much longer at 10:30 a.m. They said it would be 1 hr longer after checking with the towing company. Still no tow truck at 12 pm when I called AAA again. They checked and zero star towing had "declined" service, but that another co was dispatched and should be 1 hr away. That new towing Co called immediately and are on their way! Forget you zero star towing Co, and thank you new co! If the owner says that they have no record, please refer to ticket 51163 from AAA, 8/20, 7:35 am. All visible and you even acknowledged it.
I can't remember when I have waited so long for tow truck service. I contacted AAA Monday late morning or early afternoon and waited. By 4:47 PM, after checking the tow truck route map, it said "arrived." I looked out the window and no tow truck in sight. I called AAA to cancel as the repair shop closes at 5:30. First time using the repair shop and he's also the friend of a friend so I didn't want him waiting past closing time, so I canceled the call. The next day I called AAA again around 8:30 AM and they re-opened the call with an estimated arrival of 11:00 AM. Again, around that time the app showed that the truck had arrived and no such thing. AAA said that they must have entered that (truck company?AAA?) for another call, giving a new arrival time of 12:57, which eventually turned into picking the car up around 2:30. The driver was nice enough and all, but I wanted to laugh when he said that they had a shop and could take it there if I wanted him to.
Contacted AAA for a tow. Was told 5 Star would be towing my car. Estimated time of arrival was supposed of been 3:39pm. Driver updated the tracker and said he had arrived; which wasn’t true. Contacted the tow company, dispatcher gave some excuse about the driver phone dying. How convenient? But the driver phone wasn’t dead when he just updated he had arrived but hadn’t. Waste of my time. Dispatcher said the driver should be arriving in 15-20 minutes in which that didn’t happen. A bunch of crooks and lies.
