I was in a bad spot, their Driver David drove through half a mile of submerged dirt road to get my truck on the lift. Lot of drivers would have told me to kick rocks. 10 out of 10
There’s nothing more frustrating than an unexpected car issue, today was one of those days. My vehicle suddenly refused to shift gears and became stuck in reverse. I immediately contacted Payless Towing & Roadside Assistance, and they quickly dispatched someone to help.

We had a wonderful experience! They were called through Progressive and Ryan did a wonderful job. The dispatcher was incredibly nice and we got our car towed exactly where we wanted it with very little hassle (the car is older and rickety) I highly recommend these folks!

My daughter goes to FSU and was having some car issues. Arranged a roadside assistance through insurance, and Payless was dispatched. Office was super friendly and helpful on the phone. Tow truck driver came and helped troubleshoot the issue, eliminating the need for the tow. Great customer service all around.
On Friday, September 27, I could not start my car. I called my insurance company and shortly after, they sent Mr. David to take the car to the nearest car shop. It turned out and thanks to Mr. David's skills, my vehicle did not require a tow, he examined it and was able to identify the problem immediately. He took his time to explain and educate me on what the issue was.

My truck broke down in Tallahassee and they came within the hour. He told me I could sit in the truck under his AC to make the call to initiate payment to the base and while going through my cards he told me to come and look under my truck. I thought I needed a new battery but truck driver noticed that my serpentine belt was broken and obviously laying on the ground. Therefore, I didn’t need a local tow, I needed to change my destination to a 65 mile distance so they weren’t able to help me. Later that day I realized that I lost my GA drivers license either in his truck or on the ground while shuffling for my debit card to pay by phone. I didn’t see it on the ground but I left a message for the base to have David call or text me but he never did. I really need to talk to him, I’m satisfied with their service but aggravated that I’m always losing something.
Last night, I was taking my brother, and my Tiguan died on me. People tried helping me, but ultimately, Payless Towing came and helped me out. Mr. James and Ms. Crystal took me to where I needed to be. The place wanted to close down for the day, but Mr. James took a look at my battery and alternator. He saw the issues and was able to resolve my problem immediately. I'm so grateful for Mr. James and Ms. Crystal for helping me out when I was in a pinch. Thank you both so much!
Payless Tow is top-notch!
I had to get my car towed twice within a week and the same gentleman from Payless towed me both times (first for AAA to tow to my home and a second time to tow to a repair shop). Both were way faster than they estimated it would take to get to my car.
The real reason I give five stars is the service I received when calling. They were upfront with the cost, the time it would take, and how/ when they would run my payments. While this feels like this should be standard, unfortunately its not when it comes to towing. Their transparency alone is a reason to use their services.
I wish I could leave half a star. The right front wheel came off of my van while driving this morning. I called several tow companies, but Payless was the first to say they could send someone out. Someone did come out, but didn't have the right kind of truck (needed a flatbed, which you'd think the dispatcher would know since I told her the wheel came off). So he left and said someone with a flatbed would be coming and I would be next priority since my car was literally in the middle of the road.
Fast forward THREE AND A HALF HOURS and still no call, no one showed up, no text. I tried calling 3 times and NO ANSWER. Couldn't even leave a voicemail - it just rang off the hook. I finally got someone and told them to cancel my request because I just hung up with another company who only uses flatbeds and has already sent someone (20 min from when I called, not HOURS later). Don't waste your time with Payless!
I ended up having to use this towing company through my insurance company (State Farm) and by far they have the best customer service and tow driver around!! So professional and efficient. Got my vehicle to the dealership safely and timely!! I will definitely use them again if need to in the future!! Thanks guys!!
The driver was dispatched less than 10 minutes after my insurance received my request for towing service. He notified me when he was on his way, made sure he knew exactly where to find my vehicle and confirmed with me when the vehicle was loaded and on its way to the requested destination. Thank you very much for quick, professional service.

Vehicle had a window busted out and ignition all jacked up as part of an attempted vehicle theft. State Farm ordered these guys for the tow and I could not be happier with Nick's professionalism and service. He communicated with me when he was on his way and when he arrived. He explained what he was doing with the tow and helped put trash bags over the broken out window to protect against possible rain damage. I am very, very happy with the service. Thanks, Nick! They showed up within a half hour, had the car attached in moments and we were at my home in no time. Plus, the truck was clean, and the driver informative and very courteous. Why use roadside for in town trips when these guys are out there? Great job.
I was extremely impressed and appreciated the service I received this past Wednesday. I needed a tow that entailed additional challenges. David spent over an hour and a half in the dark and rain handling these challenges. He remained upbeat, and professional the entire time. Had my son’s 2022 Hyundai N towed from Tallahassee to Ocala and when his vehicle arrived he had damage to the side skirts, bumper cover and his exhaust pipes. The owner was not happy with amount of the repairs and is now trying to say his driver didn’t cause any damage.
We had a blowout driving through Tallahassee and needed a tow. We ubered the rest of the family to the tire place and I waited on the interstate for the tow truck. It took an hour and a half for them to make it out and the guy cursed like a sailor but we made it safely to the tire place and got it fixed up. If it weren't for the long wait it would have been 5 stars. Total cost $116.
