I had unexpected car trouble while I was driving on 19 today. I was afraid I was going to get broke down on 19 somewhere, so I pulled into Consumer Car Care. I went inside and was immediately greeted with a warm, friendly smile from the owner, Dave. I explained my problem to him that my car had just started acting up. He was able to get my car in immediately and start working on it. In less than 2 hours, he had me in, diagnosed, repaired, and I was back on the road. I had to drive to Homosassa after, and the car drove beautifully. My first time using them and I will definitely use them again for my auto repair needs.
Over 16 years David has been fair and honest with me concerning my car repairs.
Update... David and his crew were very accommodating. The waiting room is always clean, cool, and there's usually a fresh pot of coffee. I was in and out in no time!
Today I noticed that the liner under my car was hanging down just a bit so I made a quick stop to have it checked and fixed. Everyone i spoke to was really nice and helpful. They fit me in and fixed the issue in just a few mins. Im so happy and will definitely use them again.
Highly recommend this automatic shop!!! I live an hour away from home and I had clinical in Hudson when my car started to overheat. I pulled over to the nears auto shop and they help me out and fix the problem on my car. Thank you to the gentleman who has helped me out and made sure everything was working properly! Without the help, I would’ve been stranded and waiting for hours.
After previously using this shop, I tried calling this morning. When I called, the phone disconnected. When I called back, all he said was "stop calling here", and hung up.
Very unprofessional, and you just lost repeat business.
I probably should have known better than to return, since the last time I came here to fix a door latch, they broke my window regulator (dry rot), and charged full price to fix it.
I'll find somewhere else to go.
I just had my best ever car repair in 71 years!!! I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I took it into the shop because I thought I had windows whose motors had died. I was given an estimate of $900 which I thought was fantastic for installing 4 motors. When I brought the car in I was going to have to wait for the repairs to be done. When Dave found that out he gave me a ride home, and later picked me up to get my car. I’m very grateful for that! My windows, it ended up did not new motors! The windows just needed silicone to go up and down! While my car was there it was discovered that my windshield sprayer wasn’t working and that I had a rear light out. They fixed both! The best part of all, they only charged me for labor!!!!!! I highly recommend Consumer Car Care. They were very nice to deal with and were honest and generous beyond my expectations. I was having an issue with my BMW vibrating. I had an idea after replacing many components that it may be my brand new front tires that I purchased off of Amazon. Joe, the manager confirmed it. purchased new tires. No vibration whatsoever. I recommend this store to anyone great people.
Have had my Nissan 350z for over 5 months, since October of 2024!! And couldn’t fix the issue, then they rush me to come pick up the car like they haven’t been holding it for months. They have done solid work for me before and I’ve never had issues but this was the last straw. I had to buy a whole other car in the mean time!
Took my vehicle in to address a check engine light. Dave seemed uneducated with what the actual issue was, he resorted to charge me for hours and hours of labor only to not be able to fix the issue. These guys gave me the runaround like I have never experienced before and were reluctant to provide a partial refund, or fix the issue and have since blocked communication. Unprofessional is an understatement. This place just wants to take your money for bogus work. Took my car to another mechanic and have proof that the "new parts" that I paid for were very much used but I was charged for brand new parts. Unreal. NOT TRUSTWORTHY. NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE. I understand times are tough for everyone right now but thats no excuse to do shady business. Take your business and hard earned money elsewhere.
Brought my Jeep in because the check engine light was on. Got upsold on $960 worth of work only to pick up my car and the light was now not only on but blinking. Owner said that it was no big deal and that it was only because they couldn't replace 1 of the spark plugs and that I could bring it in anytime for them to make the light go off. He said the car would be safe for me to drive. I stopped by twice to have them take a look as to why the engine light was now blinking, both times I was asked to come back. Went back this morning , only to have been giving the run around yet again. Bad attitude , poor excuses, 0 accountability . Took my $960 and sent me home with a bigger problem then when I walked in. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also resorted to hang up the phone when on when I pointed out that original issue wasn't fixed but in fact was made worse. Prissy attitude , NOT HONEST. Not knowledgeable on changing a basic spark plug. STAY AWAY.
Absolutely amazing shop! Dave and all his guys over there do great work in a timely manner. Dave was in constant contact with us throughout the time our vehicle was there with any and all updates. We definitely found our go to shop for all our mechanical needs. Give them a shot you definitely won't be disappointed.
This place handled my car problems great the first time but the 2nd not so much
I got my oil pan replaced & oil change finished here. I've had no issues with the pan replacement.
My car did overheat the next day. I was told the radiator cap & reservoir cap were broken. They're explanation: it was most likely rotted & had been sealed just enough beforehand to not have caused overheating before. I paid for the radiator cap & sealed the reservoir myself. Dave was professional & patient in explaining things to me & answering my many questions at that time. My g-pa who works on cars says the explanation was off, if it was rotted I should've been experiencing overheating at some point b4 this. He doesn't believe I should've paid for the cap. My g-pa helped change my oil last time, & got another place to top off the fluids b4 my visit here. No rotten or broken caps were mentioned, & no overheating occurred.
Dave's explanation was somewhat reasonable & sound but thinking back on the convo, I don't appreciate the way he spoke to me. I understand being offended that someone would claim ur employee broke something but as a mgr or business owner, u should've been more professional than that & not as emotional.
They gave me my money back & everything has been settled, but I will not be going back. I got my car fixed up elsewhere & have had very little issues since the change.
The day after Christmas my ball joint went out at 8:15 in the morning sitting in St Vincent's pantry line. I called a couple tow truck companies and none of them would come and get me since I only had $50 and out of nowhere the guy consumer car Care called me and said he would tow the car up there and fix it. He didn't know me from Adam and they paid for the tow charge which was $150 and fix the car ball joint tie rod align the car for $700 which I was able to pay at the beginning of the month when my social security hit. I am very happy with them they saved me from being stranded I have an artificial leg so I don't walk too good and they got me out of there so I wasn't blocking St Vincent's parking lot for their food pantry by 9:15. I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend them to anybody
I had my struts replaced a few months ago and then brought my car back in for ignition misfiring. It was diagnosed and fixed by the next day. I recommend Consumer Car Care.
My Advice: Don't Go Here. I went for my car making a noise, the owner test drove my car with the windows up, and said they didn't hear anything but they'd look at it, after considering it's the brakes they said, so I had them do all 4 tires brakes, after test drive it still making the same noise and they said it was all fixed. I had to bring it back cause the noise was so bad, and they tweaked it to not make noise, but still wasn't fixed completely, I paid for an incomplete job, not done right, and won't go back.
We had a flat tire and limped it in to the shop at lunch time. They were going to put air in the spare and mount it but we started talking about other work that needed done. They offered a fair price and got the work done in a day. They also mounted the new tire I brought in. Very good experience.
These guys have treated me so well! I’ve gotten my car tuned up, new tires and also something as little as changing a light out. Moving from PA to FL I was worried I wouldn’t find a place that I trusted with my car, but I was very happy to find Consumer Car Care close to where I live, and people there who didn’t rip me off. Really great place to get your car work done.
I cannot express how AWESOME this shop is. From the moment you enter the front desk waiting area you are treated like family , all the employees there are very knowledgeable to car repairs. Mr.Dave the owner took my car from a dangerous driving situation to completely repaired in a very timely manor. Very honest and fair priced

I had a serious tire issue and dropped my car off in the morning. They gave me a ride to work and called me with an estimate by lunch time.

Trying to find honest and competent mechanics is always a challenge and stressful experience .
Dave and his crew are both honest and competent. Very fair pricing. Leaking transmission seal and driveshaft support bearing replaced quickly for me . I usually did these repairs myself, being a retired engineer and mechanic as a hobby, but a bad back prevents me anymore. So I can honestly say these folks know what they are doing and will get return business from me . 5 stars from me.
David has been sooooo wonderful to deal with!!! This place cares about their customers and is so courteous and kind. They waived the diagnostic fee when we learned the engine was beyond repair. They allowed us to leave the car for a few days until we could get it towed. They will definitely get all of our business from now on.
I'm very impressed by this shop. They have the best prices in town. They are very kind and professional. Dave the owner will take care of you. He will never sell you something you don't need and he's not here to steal people's money. He has definitely earned my business as a repeat customer. I will now be going back to Consumer for my oil changes and any vehicle maintenance I need in the future.

Had a flat tire right on the corner of commercial Way rode it right to this shop and you could hear the thumping of my tire on the pavement as I pulled up.. a man named Brian said he can hear it. The man literally quit eating his food and hopped right on it.was blown away . These people truly care about taking care of your problem so you can just keep it moving. 10/10 highly recommend I definitely will be back
I had the BEST experience here. My car battery died and was only seven months old. Dave tracked down the battery supplier and got a replacement battery free. They installed it today and i was back on the road. The staff is friendly and kind, the service was excellent, and there was constant communication between the and me. I will return here for more exceptional service when any of my vehicles break down.
I was told about this place from a friend. They have been amazing! 1st it was a belt and pulleys that needed to be fixed and replaced. Then I also brought them my truck to have them do both front and back brakes. They worked me in both times and when I had another issue they took a look to check out what it was and did not charge me. They have gone above and beyond and have been very nice And honest. I now have my mother going to them for car repairs as well. If you need a good honest place to take your car they are definitely the ones to go to!
