I've been bringing my scrap here since early in my career of being electrician . Roughly 18 years and never had a bad experience . And always seems like I get top dollar here . I've called around to some of the bigger recycling facilities in Jacksonville to get quotes on some pretty big loads of copper wire only to be told they couldn't match the prices I was getting at s&s. And employees here seem to have good attitudes.
I won't go anywhere else matter of fact I'll be seeing you all this week or next with a pretty decent load.
And a little side note:
If you're going to bring scrap there you should separate it or organize it first . Trust me it's faster for you and them.
I've been coming here for over 14 years and can unequivocally say that S&S Salvage is a great place to do business! Excellent customer service and competitive prices. Sometimes there's a line so be prepared for a possible delay. I highly recommend having your items organized and ready weigh before you arrive. Also, they are closed from noon to 1pm for lunch.
Erin was such a big help. The gentlemen that take your items were so Nice and considerate. So thoughtful of why I was there! I can’t praise them enough. Thank you all !
S&s Salvage is a nice salvage yard they keep it well maintained its not no joke I don't think they mess with steel but everything else yes their prices are good that they give you help to unload and I am very pleased with s&s Salvage I am a transplant from Orlando and it's nice to find good places to do business because I'm starting over
and learning Jacksonville been scrapping for a while but it's not the same I like it though it's very good they even match prices if you get a higher price somewhere else they'll match it they do you really right
So this place just stole from me. They moved so quickly I did not get a chance to get in the shop and see the scale let alone I did not even get all my product out before they had my ticket sent. I came in with two motors one was from an air conditioning unit the other one from a refrigeration unit between the two motors that was probably 20 lb I also had a backpack with number one copper tubing The backpack weighed about 30 lb I had 16 lb of tools in the backpack and they said I had 3 lb of copper before I could ask for my copper back it was thrown into a giant bin and mixed with everything. As I said they moved so quickly I don't even think they weighed this stuff I know I was robbed here and they all had attitudes right from the beginning I was adjusting something on my truck while waiting in line and the second the guy in front of me pulled off they said hurry up man let's go, that's because it was almost lunch time lol this place was the most hideous experience I have ever had with any company.
I took in four rims and one electric motor and when I left and start looking at my ticket they called my electric motor breakage I didn't realize you guys are starting to rip people off
Only giving one star because it won't let me give anything less. I have to say they are very good at unloading what you bring in. But, the verbal abuse the employees dish out to the customer is so worth going to a different recycling place.
Fiance and I gave this place a first go last minute Arrived later on close to the closing time by 2 minutes but were willing to go ahead and assist us and indeed helped ever step of the way. Even with being unorganized from us being unprepared going somewhere unfamiliar and was a great experience. Knowing they wanted to go home like any one else, but helped us, helped us more than they know since it was what gave us money in our pockets when we showed up broke with $1 to our name. This place made it a great day so far and happy to say we shall be back another time well more punctual and prepared to keep the flow going. Thanks guys. Y'all are awesome!
I work all over the country and I have not even came close to the price these guys gave me. They will not rip you off, quite the opposite if they see something else you could do to make money with the scrap they will tell you.
Give a lot of bad information. Talked to them on the phone twice and given misinformation each time. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Wasted two and a half hours out of my day. SMH Treated rudely by an old man in the front.Go first and ask the rude people in the front about the rules. Because whoever answers the phone is clueless. Appropriate paperwork was provided. Title, registration and license all matched. That was not the issue. It was the information I was provided over the phone that lead to the problem.
Jon and the entire crew are great. Very friendly with good prices for scrap. I have been using them for years and as they get to know you they treat you like family. I highly recommend them for all scrap related business. The office crew has a great sense of humor while providing efficient check out services. They don’t give back rubs though.

I felt like I sold my engine block to the FBI. They unloaded it, took pics of my tag, copied my VIN, everything but a cavity search. The clerk, while hot, wouldn't stfu with some old guy in another office ; she took forever to give me $20. I thought she was calling the cops and stalling for time. I've never seen so many FBI tactics incorporated at a junk yard! They won't ever have to worry about seeing me ever again ... I'd let someone have my scrap junk first!
Good outfit. I have been recycling with them for about 3 years now. Prices generally very good if not the best. Any price difference is not worth the drive. Large or small, same good service.
I'm not in the scrap trade but S&S has always been nice enough to educate me and even ensure I am paid correctly. I once brought in some material and they could have easily ripped me off but they were honest and that is why I won't go anywhere else! Very friendly staff and good local people!!
Why drive all the way to Beaver street when you have a recycler that pays top dollar in your own backyard?? Not to mention the receptionist is HOT! #orangeparkhustler
