Richard and his family took care of me and my car while I was in college. They took the time to explain things to me and I never felt like they had anything but my best interests in mind. I once even called them when my car stopped on the highway and they walked me through what I should do next. Truly kind people.
Absolutely wonderful experience at this shop! As a young college student, RJ was an extremely knowledgable technician that was happy to explain everything going on with my car to not only me, but to my parents as well. This is a family owned and operated business that is trustworthy and is not just trying to make a quick buck off of people. Literally the best family owned mechanics shop ever. RJ has saved me so many times I've the years from coming to jump my car at work to telling me when to do to get my car to turn on and limp it over to them when it's tried to strand me across town. They are honest and usually try to find the best way to get things fixed and keep you from spending a ton of money. The number of times RJ has just replaced tail lights or checked small things for me randomly when I drive by I can't even count. They are the reason I bought another Volvo because I knew I had a mechanic I could truly trust and keep me safe and happy.

Great Volvo repair station in Gainesville! Very nice owner with his son, very polite. We had some issues with our Volvo and they checked it carefully and took their time - and even did not ask for a payment. It is really worth to buy a Volvo, when you have such a shop around. 5 stars!

Master Volvo mechanics unparalleled in experience and knowledge. This father and son team is amazing , the best in the state of Florida . Ive never seen anything like this shop in my 76 years, If you are within 100 miles of their location you are lucky. I have to drive 8 hrs RT to get here and back. Its worth it . We had our 2019 Volvo XC40 serviced at Richard's Import Store and had a good experience. Service was performed as requested and we met both Richard and RJ (father and son). Everybody is very friendly and relaxed. Price was very reasonable and no attempt was made to sell extra services. A breath of fresh air!
We live out of state and gave our daughter our 10 year old Volvo to drive while at UF. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found this place. He has taken such good care of this car, which has had a few issues in its old age. He's honest and reliable. I feel so much better knowing that this garage is close by!

Great service, quick, honest, highly recommend. 2008 XC-90 check eng light and sputtering, Richard knew what the problem was over the phone. Diagnostic confirmed bad coil, had it that plus a few more issues done in a day. Thanks!

I’ve owned 240 Volvos for three decades. There are not many mechanics left who will even take them in for work. I did a ton of research to find this shop and drive a hundred miles to get there. These are THE Volvo guys. Shops like this are a slowly disappearing. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

Richards is the ONLY place to take your Volvo for repairs. They are great, honest people who do a wonderful job. If they can’t do something (very unusual) they tell you so. I have gone to them for almost 20 years (here and previous location) and I cannot think of one bad thing to say about them.
As always, RIS was superb. The best Volvo service I have experienced within the upper/central Florida area. Or anywhere. Family owned, seriously knowledgeable, amazing service. I will never take my Volvo anywhere else.
