We are repeat local customers at Superior Auto in Westbrook and have always been very impressed with their work. I have used Superior for body work twice: once where I paid out of my own pocket and the other through the insurance of someone who hit me. Could I have potentially found someone to have done the work for less when I was paying out of pocket? Perhaps. But I don't see how that would have been worth how smoothly everything went, the level of communication they had with me throughout the process (like when parts were on back-order), and the care I felt I was given. It was like working with your favorite cousin who you know kicks ass at what he does and is looking out for you. Then with the work through the insurance company... Holy crap. They went to bat for me to make sure the insurance company didn't screw me. OEM parts. Amazing work. Countless phone calls and emails to make sure my truck was put back right when what went wrong was not my fault. Great people. Great work.

I had an unavoidable accident with a deer that caused significant damage to my new RAV4, and it was important to me to have it repaired by a place where it would be restored to its original factory state, given it had only 20K miles. Superior Auto did exactly that, Tom was meticulous in the repair, prioritizing the car and my safety over the insurance company. In the end, the car looks and feels like there was never an accident. Their work is warrantied for the life of the car. This is a five star business.

Bought a used car which came with some bad surprises. The team was just stellar in diagnosing the problem, working out a fair price and preparing paperwork and photos I needed to email for reimbursement. Patient and accommodating through the whole ordeal. Next time I buy a used car I will bring it to Superior right away for inspection before warranty is up. Staff is friendly and trustworthy.

Outstanding service! My family and I have used Superior Auto-Westbrook Several times over the last two years. They are able to effectively communicate with auto insurance companies and advocate for their clients. They have great communication skills and have kept us up-to-date on every aspect of our vehicles’ repairs. They’ve done excellent work and go above and beyond repairing all our vehicles. We have four teenage drivers so we’ve been keeping Superior Auto very busy.

Five stars isn’t high enough for rating Superior Auto in Westbrook, CT. The manager, Tom Vicino, Jr went above and beyond when I took my Toyota Camry in for repairs after an auto accident I’d had. Tom is honest and forthright and treated me with sincerity and respect. He kept in touch with me throughout the repair process and willingly picked up the phone or texted me whenever I had a question or concern. Most importantly, he fought with the insurance company on my behalf. I was getting more and more frustrated with the run-around I was getting from the adjuster, so Tom took matters into his own hands and dealt with the insurance company directly so I didn’t have to. All in all, a great experience. I won’t take my car anywhere else for body work and, for anyone who’s reading this, Superior Auto is where you’ll want to bring your car, too. Patti Kron Madison, CT

Under Tom Jr's direction Superior just completed major collision repairs to my wife's 2019 Honda Accord sedan involving major body work and glass replacement. The quality of the work, including the clear coat painting is breathtaking. The car literally looks like new, inside and out! This is the seventh time in the last 15 years that we have used Superior for major body work and/or glass replacement repairs to our cars, first with Tom Sr. and now with Tom Jr. This repeat business speaks for itself. We have never been disappointed. Work quality has always been exceptional and communications in all respects, including work details, schedule, insurance coordination (if applicable) and cost, have been consistently outstanding and reliable. I wholeheartedly recommend Superior Auto.

The last 3 times we were in a bind with car problems Superior Auto is somehow able to squeeze us in same or next day. They really seem to care about helping people out. The owner (i assume) Tom is very nice.

Superior is truly superior. My beloved 17,soon to be 18 year old Volvo C70 convertible became a mouse palace, apparently over some time period. When I finally noticed the odd smell a great deal of damage had already been done. My usual mechanic had closed up his shop a few months before and so I was referred to Superior by a friend. I talked with Tom Sr to get an idea of the costs to get rid of the mice and restore an aged and sort of shabby interior (thanks to my dog). I came away with a very precise and long list of what could and should be done to bring back her interior and mechanics. It was a challenge for me, but I made the financial decision to try to save the car and I have never regretted it. Any restoration is a long-term project Tom had to source parts for this old car from Turkey ,Hungary and Ukraine and lord knows where else. I am driving her again and Superior has been a dream to deal with. I never had the impression they were concerned with anything other than delivering a quality result to me at the quoted price. I have never given any organization a higher rating than I give to Superior.

Had our EV towed to Superior Auto with a minor problem and expressed some urgency in getting it back as quickly as possible. Tom and team were great from first phone call to pick up. Helpful and professional all the way. Did great work and even applied AAA discounts I hadn't been aware of. Definitely recommend.

I recently had a minor fender bender and obtained a couple of quotes. Superior was the lowest cost and provided more services. I picked the car up today and it was like the accident never happened. On top of that the car had been washed and vacuumed. It looked like a new car. Excellent job and their customer service and communication was superior!

*Edit I'll leave a picture of my old review. I do not have enough space to give a proper review of this autobody. I will offer some advice, make sure you have everything they say and you say in some kind of writing. Tom jr Does not admit fault. It will always be your fault, or in my case Ford since they don't make good parts according to him. They did not paint my grille cover. It's OEM, that is my bad I apologize Tom. He offered to repaint it but I feel like it should be replaced under warranty of some kind, whether from where he bought it or him. He also offered to repaint my wheels. I do not care enough to have more work done. They do not match the old color and I was warned ahead of time, they did have one minor imperfection and you can tell where they taped the inner wheel but it's whatever. My cars work order was created on 1/18/24 I picked it up on 2/22/24. I may harp on the paint because of what other have said, but it's a good color match. Most the other work was solid as well. He did warn me about messing up a light harness but I honestly don't know what that means. Upon picking it up, there was sanding residue lining the hood crevice, the quarter panel lines were too tight, and the inner cooler was not the agreed upon color. I wanted the car back and was excited so I did not care and took it. I talked to Tom over the phone and have no proof, but I never liked the blue innercooler. The point is moot though, it just showed his character when he kept telling me I never said that. He loves to point out all the "extra work" he did at no charge to me, but obviously he billed the insurance. I should have never okayed the extra work. A few weeks later I noticed a sag in the bumper and something missing that meets the bumper at the hood. A hood seal. This is where our relationship went south. He mounts my bumper with shims to get it to sit well, but he said he'd never do this unless I approved. I didn't, we discuss a prior bumper being replaced at the dealer before I bought he car. It was a small crack and the car didn't have a record of a previous accident. He says my sag was due to it "being in a previous accident" I had no proof of an accident and he kept telling me if I told him prior he would have been able to fix it. He says he asked me about this when aligning the driver side frame. He did not, or if I'm remembering it wrong I still wouldn't have known. Everything on my passenger side was bent backwards because my lower shields did not match any of the factory bolt holes, is what I'm told, but how did it leave the shop the first time like that? Wouldn't it be wrong enough to tell the bumper didn't sit right? This was over the phone. I'll admit I lost it and started throwing accusations without proof. It just didn't add up to me. He did get the bumper on right, but the hood seal never sat properly and I thought it was still due to the bumper. While still very angry at Tom I told him I was uncomfortable and wanted a new bumper, and we argued quite a bit, I got quite upset. All due to the hood seal, he bought another, I think he ended up buying three, but may have reused to first one. They all never sat right. He managed to get it on perfectly with use of tape and added fasteners, but that made me even more uncomfortable because it was no longer oem. He argued Ford parts sucked and it was them, they're just like that. I had the one tapped down removed and took the third one and dealt with it. I was over the situation and wanted my car back. I only wrote this review due to the issue with the grille cover. It left his shop and failed months later. I lost a lot of my trust with them towards the end. Tom would always tell me what I wanted to hear and never took blame if it wasn't working out. I may have blown the bumper out of proportion with the hood seal, but I lost that trust I originally had with him. It's not bad work, but not great, I would not let them work on my car again. My original review was a bit dishonest I apologize, but still, I left an unhappy customer. Accident photos of damage repaired.

I needed a crankshaft position sensor ,along with an intake gasket on My Jeep grand Cherokee. I stopped in and was quoted around $300. I already had a diagnostic saying it was a crankshaft position sensor. They call me back and told me it was going to be $858. I was on vacation and needed my car back so I paid the bill. He charged me 4 hours of labor for a job they would take no more then an hour for a master mechanic. I did my homework calling the dealer and a few other mechanics. The dealership said it would be $500. That was the highest. I have to say I feel taken advantage of.

Ran over some paint a few weeks back. Went to get some info on how to remove the dried paint I ran over the night befor. They where so helpful and informative. They do both mechanical and body work at this location. The owners are great and very nice and helpful. I felt very welcome since day 1 of bringing my truck here.

Just got my car back from Superior and am extremely pleased with the results. My car had been backed into and was there for damage done in that accident. The repair was impeccable. Other cosmetic work on the car was also well done. Tom Sr. and Tom Jr are very attentive to details and a pleasure to work with. They went beyond expectation by detailing the inside and returning my car in "new" condition. I highly recommend Superior Auto Westbrook for outstanding service and top quality workmanship.

I was amazed at the results of Superior Auto’s 12-Step finish renewal on my 2015 Honda Civic. I have decided that this reliable 6 year old car is a keeper and want to maintain it for the long haul. The cleaning and polishing of ALL the exterior took close to a full day. When I got the car back, the finish shined like it just came out of the factory. It was well worth the modest investment for me. Please note that this process addressed most scratches and brightened the overall dullness of the finish but some deep pits from stone hits are still visible. Tom the owner, can also offer a wealth of auto related advice and services. I am indeed a happy customer.
