I was driving on the highway when my check engine light started blinking, and I immediately pulled over—completely overwhelmed by what might come next. It was about 5:15 in the evening, and after calling AAA, the only local shop still open was Firestone. To be honest, I hesitated based on some of the reviews I had seen, but I didn’t have many options. That evening, the team took a quick look at my car and suspected a few possible issues. They asked if their master mechanic could take a closer look the next morning, and although I was 100 miles from home and hoping for an easy fix, I agreed. They also explained that if the repair turned out to be what they suspected, they didn’t have the part in stock anyway. The next morning, I received a call from John, who told me that their master mechanic had reviewed the vehicle. He confirmed that while the initial diagnosis was on the right track, the issue was actually connected to an extended engine recall on my vehicle. Rather than moving forward with a repair that could have cost me thousands, John explained that they didn’t want to charge me for something that Kia should cover under the recall. Initially, I was skeptical—when I searched online, I couldn’t find the recall listed under my VIN. But after calling Kia Corporate, they confirmed exactly what John had said: there was an extended recall related to a class-action settlement that doesn’t always appear in the public VIN search and typically has to be identified by dealerships or honest mechanics. Even though Firestone wasn’t being paid for any of this, John went above and beyond. He reached out to the Kia dealership on my behalf, confirmed that my vehicle was covered, and even coordinated the tow from Firestone to the dealership—without me having to be present. What could have been a stressful, expensive, and overwhelming experience turned into one where I felt genuinely cared for. The team at Firestone treated me with empathy, honesty, and integrity. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation, but instead they helped me navigate something that didn’t benefit them at all. I’m truly impressed by the professionalism and compassion I received here. My experience doesn’t reflect the negative reviews I initially saw—if anything, it proved the opposite. Firestone in Stamford has earned my trust, and I’d recommend them without hesitation.

Ray is the best. After my emissions testing, he noticed my tires were overinflated and graciously offered to lower them to the correct psi. Quick, friendly service.

I called Firestone and spoke to Norman to set up an appointment for a wheel alignment after installing new tires on my car. Norman politely and quickly set one up for two days later. When I arrived two days later, Norman greeted me warmly and quickly completed the intake. Less than an hour later, I was done and on my way. Simple service but one that was made even more enjoyable with professional service.

Representatives and mechanics provided great customer service from the first time i called to bringing my car in and getting repairs done in a timely manner. As promised my repairs were completed by end of day. I will certainly bring my car back to this Firestone location! Job well done fellas!

Every time I come here I never get anything fixed. They just break something else. Completely unreliable, unknowledgeable. I can’t believe I keep coming here. Honestly if it were for the credit card and because times are tough I would never step foot in this place again!

Kris was incredibly polite, informative, friendly and professional. Being a recent transplant to Stamford I needed an emissions test and went to Firestone through a recommendation. My wait time was more than reasonable and my service was taken care of quickly. I asked Kris about tires, told him what I liked and he promptly gave me several options. I will be going back for the tires and any maintenance I might need on my vehicle.

I dropped my car off at 11 a.m. and was told the work would take about two hours. The shop closes at 6 p.m., yet I did not receive any updates throughout the day. I eventually called at 5:15 p.m. and was informed that the car had not even been started on, and that it would need to be kept overnight. We agreed the car would be ready by 9:30–10 a.m. the next day. When I called at 9:45 a.m., I was told it would be another 15 minutes. Upon arriving 20 minutes later, I was told the work had not yet begun. This left me questioning what had been done with the car for nearly 24 hours. In addition, I was quoted for unnecessary work and the lights that were replaced are so dim they are practically unusable. At this point, I do not trust the shop to correct the issue. Overall, this was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had, and I will not be returning. If you value timely service, transparency, and professionalism, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Horrible service. Horrible reps in front. None of them really want to work. Probably all in for Overtime in company’s dime. Why give an appointment time and date - when I have to come and still wait for 2-2.5 hours ? The most stupid company and policies, I have ever come across. The rep stated I was late for appointment when I was a min late. While people are made to wait for 2 hours beyond their appointment time. Garbage company with more horrible garbage policies and their people are as bad as they come

I highly recommend Firestone. The manager Jonathan is kind, considerate, and efficient. His dedication to service is exemplified in all the employees at Firestone. On this particular time at Firestone I had the pleasure of checking in with Ishmael and also Ray, the mechanic was very gracious, too!

I came in to have four tires replaced. Since they weren’t in stock, the shop ordered them from another location. After waiting two hours, I was told it would be at least another hour before they arrived from Bridgeport—which is less than an hour away even in heavy traffic. I asked for my keys back and rescheduled for the next morning. The next day, I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. Despite that, it took nearly three hours just to install four tires. When I voiced my frustration, the manager simply said they were busy—apparently forgetting that’s exactly why people schedule appointments in the first place. Whether it’s poor management, understaffing, or lack of respect for customers’ time, the experience was unacceptable. Overpriced and unprofessional—I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I am surprised Hertz has them as a vendor.

I got a flat tire after hitting a curb Thursday night. I was able to bring it in on a Saturday, normally a day when you would be booked with appointments all day. I was assured the tire would get taken care of by midday, and I picked up the car around noon. The tire had to be replaced, but it was under warranty, so the price was very reasonable. Also, an engine filter replacement was recommended, which I had done for less than what I would have paid at Stamford Honda.

I don’t understand why this place has so many negative reviews I had a flat tire and they were able to replace the one tire I needed with a new one. They even went quicker than the estimated time. Highly recommend. Just a note for future customers, I’d definitely book an appointment ahead of time. They get quite busy. Gentleman who serviced my vehicle was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Do yourself a favor and do NOT use this place for any single service needed on your car. Brought my car in for a simple oil change and new tires. After that visit, I had to bring my car back in again on three separate occasions because they did not fix my car properly and additionally, they stripped the screw so oil continued to leak out of my car. After finally getting my car fixed or so I thought, a month later my engine was overheating and my coolant fluid was completely boiling over and the engine was smoking. I brought the car to Volkswagen (where I should have went from the start) and they said whoever serviced your car prior to this made a mess. My car is now completely out of commission and is dangerous to drive. Morale of the story … AVOID THIS PLACE.

Excellent experience ! Joshua got me an appointment right away and looked into all of my concerns I mentioned when booking. I really liked that they sent me a detailed digital inspection so I could see why they recommended what they did and when I had questions Josh was very knowledgeable and honest. I will absolutely be back !

Firestone changed my oil with 0W-20 despite my car requiring 5W-30 as clearly printed on the oil cap. Additionally, a few days after the oil change, my low oil light came on because they had only filled it to the bare minimum level. Whoever worked on my vehicle was clearly not competent to do so. They did agree to refund what I paid so I could get it changed again at another shop, but these mistakes could have caused serious damage to my engine.

Booked an online appointment for 1pm. I get there, they tell me it’s for 2pm. I showed him their text message reminding me of my 1pm appointment. It’s 1:50 and my vehicle is still sitting in their lot. They could’ve avoided this review by saying they are behind or we messed up and would you mind accepting a 2pm. I’ll drive up to Fairfield after this appointment. 4:28, still no vehicle. In vehicle at 6:37. Was told it was a tech’s fault and I should ask for John to file a complaint.

I called them on the phone they said no need to make an appointment when I came to place someone said you can drop your car and maybe you can get end of the day it was funny... Had the worse experience here I have ever had. I have been coming to this Firestone for years. Came for an oil change, they took 10 hours to finish it. The appointment was for 8 am. Then I asked them to reset the oil light and they told me when I picked up they did it. When I got in the car they did not. Had to wait 30 minutes for them just to tell me they couldn't do it but lied to me originally that they did. I have had it reset multiple times before when I have come to this location so I am shocked now that they can't all of a sudden. Really awful experience, it is a shame as I have spent money here over the years and now I am not sure I will be coming back.

AVOID THIS PLACE. I went in for one new tire because mine had a leak. They started with the “tires will be unbalanced” bs so I agreed to two tires. I repeatedly told them it was the right front that needed to be replaced. They told me the car wouldn’t be done until 12 the next day (over 24 hours!) when I called to ask if the car was ready, they said their employee had ordered the wrong tires! So the car wouldn’t be ready for another 5 hours. The next day I’m driving the car and the check tire pressure light comes on. Unbelievably, they had changed the WRONG TIRES. No apology or recourse from them. Avoid Firestone at all costs. I took my car to Mavis in Greenwich and they fixed the CORRECT tire in an hour AND it was cheaper. After this ordeal, my husband will be cancelling his Firestone credit card.

No star should also be an option…I brought my car here and spent $2500, only to pick my car up and it was running worst than when I brought it to FS. After picking my car up nothing ran correctly, I had to bring my car back 3 additional times to correct things what was missed, my engine cover was broken, and they left a dirty Hand rag under the hood. Bring your vehicle here at your own risk.

Came for a simple oil change. Was told my car would be ready by 7 PM—it wasn’t ready until the next day. No big deal but when I picked it up, the interior light was left switched ON, which drained my hybrid battery. (see photo). The oil change sticker was also misprinted, with the return mileage and date completely cut off. Now I have no idea when to bring my car back, which is the whole point of putting the sticker on in the first place. It’s careless. When I called to let the manager know, he didn’t listen—instead, he argued, made excuses, and said, “I can’t just take your word for it.” I wasn’t asking for anything, just explaining what happened. No apology, no accountability and very rude. There’s no reason a paying customer should have to deal with this kind of experience.

This firestone and it’s manager are the biggest con artists I’ve seen in a auto shop. I brought in a flat that needed a simple plug to be fixed and was told to leave the car overnight. Next day I received a call saying it was “unfixable” and how I not only needed to replace that tire entirely but all tires so the car would be “balanced”. Each tire was $265 by the way. I refused and told them to put the spare tire on. When I got to firestone in person no one changed the tire in fact as I arrived the manager still tried to scam me into a brand new tire. Finally they put the spare on and actually asked me if I wanted to keep the flat tire. I said yes and took it to Mavis Tires and they fixed the tire for $40… This firestone and management are some of the wildest scammers I’ve met. Pretty sure they tell people the tire cant be fixed so the victim not only needs to buy a brand new tire from there but they also fix the original damaged one then resell it used. Don’t ever take your car here… EVER!

Trying to find a place to service the A/C in my Hybrid car was virtually impossible without having to take a day off of work. I mentioned my frustration to a friend who referred me to Stamford Firestone Complete and Jon was very helpful and got me in on a Saturday, diagnosed the problem, communicated with me and had me fixed and back on the road. The rest of the staff was pleasant to deal with and I would definitely recommend this outfit!!!

UPDATE 4/17/25: I noticed today that one of my tires was installed backwards. Notice how it says inside on the sidewall. Tread pattern also confirms this. (Out of state and limited on options). I wish there was more transparity upfront on actual lead time to do services. I had a blow out 1.4 miles away and went ahead to search for a service for all 4 tires. Before calling a tow truck, I called Firestone first to see if they had the tires in stock and they did. With not having a spare from the factory, I limped the car on backroads there. During the initial phone call and arriving 15 mins later at 12:45, they never mentioned that this was going to take extra time due to being busy. I was there until 8:05 pm. Around 3pm I kindly asked the eta and that's when I was notified that it may not be done until 6pm or maybe 7pm. I kindly advised, "no worries" as they were helping me out of a jamb. Around 7:15pm, I started to get a bit agitated as I still had a 1hr 15 min drive to my hotel in NJ. All in all. Ismail and his team bailed me out of a bad situation but Corporate needs to figure something out quickly as it seems that they are understaffed to cut costs and this is probably putting extra extreme pressure on the employees that are showing up everyday. Also, as I was walking to the back lot to pick my car back up, one of the techs who was rolling out stopped to thank me for my business and patience. I greatly appreciated that. Firestone, take care of these people!!!!

(This is a repost because some of my personal information was on the first.) DO NOT GO HERE! Brought my car in because the lights on the dashboard were going off but nothing seemed to actually be wrong. They told me they would have to run diagnostics just to see what was going on. I believed what they told me and I ended up spending almost $3,000 to fix whatever they said was wrong. Few days later my heat won’t work. I never had problems with my heat before bringing it to Firestone! I hardly drove it after getting it back from them and it over heated! Luckily I was close to Firestone and told them what was going on so they told me to bring it in. I get a call later on telling me that I had a broken head gasket and it’s going to cost me about $2,000 to look, then could cost anywhere between $4-$7,000 or more to fix it! Something didn’t feel right so I picked my car up. The guy even said he had a friend he could send me to for a better price! I said no and brought it to another shop. That’s when they told me Firestone had PUT WATER IN MY ANTIFREEZE! So they had to flush out and refill my system!! I have not had a single problem since picking it up from them and it’s been almost 3 months! Firestone lied and just wanted a payout, even if it means messing up my car to do it. I was even pushed into buying their 4 tire package which comes with free rotations and such but if you look at the bottom of the invoice it says I declined an alignment! WHAT?! I did no such thing! …. I will NEVER go back there! Crooks! Shame on them! It’s tough out there right now and as a single mom with no family here, this was a blow. Go to a local owned shop! NOT FIRESTONE

I used to go to the White Plains location where I signed up for the lifetime alignment. but it is permanently closed. So the next one is either the Bronx or Stamford. I decided to take my car to the Stamford location for a alignment. My appointment was at 4pm. I arrived at 4pm and left at 5:30pm. When they finish my car the technician did not give a receipt or prove of the alignment because the store did not have any paper for the printer. Also he said that the alignment was not properly done because the store dis no have and propane gas. I was so upset because I drove 40 minutes and waited one hour and 30 minutes for nothing.
