I highly recommend Universal Auto Body! I wanted to surprise my mom by fixing the rusted quarter panel on her 2003 Toyota Corolla — a car she’s had for 22 years and truly loves. Other shops quoted me way too high and said it wasn’t worth repairing.
Miguel (manager) at Universal not only gave me a fair price, but he also understood why it was important to me. That made all the difference.
When I picked up the car, I was honestly blown away — it looked brand new. The quality of the work was incredible, and the customer service was top-notch. I couldn’t be happier and will absolutely be coming back for any future repairs.

I wouldn’t suggest anyone come here unless the want their car parts to be stolen or swapped out without your knowledge. I got into a small accident about a month ago and was recommended to come here by the other persons car insurance company. Dropped my car off for them to replace my bumper because it had a small crack from the incident. The day I got my car back it was around 4:25pm right before they had closed. They pulled my car up front and I saw they had replaced my bumper as they we’re supposed to so I left thanking them and pulling off thinking everything was okay. About an hour and a half later I go to put my vehicle in reverse and noticed my camera quality was terrible and I'm able to see my license plate when i had never been able to see it prior to me bringing my vehicle there. I immediately get out my car and try to wipe it off thinking maybe theres a small film over it since it had been a few days. Thats when i noticed my camera quality is completely different and not even angled correctly. I went back to the auto body shop the next morning soon as they opened and asked them why my rear view camera looks like this and why my camera was never supposed to he touched to begin with when only my bumper was getting replaced. The owner comes out telling me hes not sure why it looks different he didnt touch the camera. He shows me the pictures they took of my vehicle and the picture of my rear view camera you can see the back of the car and the ground, no where are you able to see my license plate and even the quality wasn't the same. The owner sees the drastic difference in the camera quality and even the angling then proceeds to tell me hes not sure how that happened because noone has touched my camera when its clear as day that my camera was swapped out in hopes I wouldn't notice. When i asked the owner to send me the picture he took of my rear view camera he refused, so if you want to bring your car here for repairs be aware they might steal or switch out your car parts!

Very helpful Staff who did an amazing job with my car. They also worked with the insurance company and made the process pretty hassle free. They were also very quick to fix an issue that cropped up due to the repairs.
Had my car fixed here per Progressive after someone hit it. They were great. Easy to schedule with. Car was finished earlier than expected and the did a light detailing of the car. Such a nice touch. Great place. Highly recommend.
A few months ago I had to have a mirror replaced and blind spot detection recalibrated due to an accident. They worked directly l with the insurance company of the person who hit me and I never saw a bill. They were quick and did a great job. They even cleaned the interior of my car so well it looked new (2016 Subaru CrossTrek). Last week I had AAA replace my battery and it caused my speedometer and BSP to not work. I stopped by this morning to see if they could do a diagnostic report for my claim with AAA and the office manager Walter was able to reset everything for me just using buttons inside my car. I probably should have tried to do that myself but it didn’t occur to me. I’m grateful to have been introduced to this place by Progressive Insurance. I highly recommend them and will definitely come back!!!

I had an even better-than-expected experience at Universal Auto Body and Glass. Walter quickly diagnosed our issue (the wiper fluid jets were obstructed by the improperly installed windshield.) Even though I waited weeks before bringing the car in, he remembered every detail of the problem and the job was done in about an hour and for a reasonable price. So glad to know about Walter and this shop tucked away down an alley on East Main Street in Stamford. Thank you so much!
Great place to repair your car body. Very friendly and responsive folks, excellent quality repair and paint, pleasure to deal with. They even washed and detailed the car afterwards (inside and out!). Highly commended, thank you for the great work.
This place is legit, meticulous, extremely fast, super friendly (shout out to yohana) from the beginning to end hassle free. I didn’t have zero interaction with my insurance besides initial online claim. They took care of it all and was ready with all my information upon arrival. My car was detailed inside and out….which my gosh that was such a nice treat! They also had my car finished 3 days earlier than I was told. My 2020 Range Rover evoque is brand new! Can not recommend these guys enough! I will be a returning customer with any of our cars in need! Whoever does the business side of this place really has it down! Can’t rave about this place enough! My wife’s Lexus had a banged up door and rear quarter panel. They guys also cleaned up marks on the rear bumper. Great work, fair pricing, good service. No fun to have a banged up car, but it was a pleasure working with them. I recommend Universal highly.

I came in today with a small parking lot scrape on my new car to get an estimate. Walter did a great job walking me through my options, and ended up doing a small paint touch-up for free! So glad to get this handled easily, and if I ever have more serious damage to deal with I'll definitely bring my car back to Universal.

The before and after speaks for itself! Walter and his staff did a phenomenal job. Not to mention my turn around for this job was 7 days. I was greeted by friendly staff, they answered all of my questions/addressed my concern’s. My insurance company recommended me to a pool of auto body shops in the area, but I choose to go to Universal for their reviews alone and they did not disappointment. My car was also detailed prior to them giving it back to me. I greatly appreciate businesses like this, his focus is on quality not quantity.

This auto body shop is fantastic! They repaired two seriously damaged areas of the fender and front right corner of my SUV and my vehicle came back looking like a brand new car. They even went above and beyond the repair job and cleaned and organized and detailed the inside of my car! Miguel Hernandez and Walter Portillo manage a great business, give very fair estimates (much better than other auto body shops in the area) and I recommend them highly.

I brought my Volkswagen Tiguan here after cutting a turn too closely against my metal garage door.
The team gave me a fair and fast quote for replacing the door, and even told me where to save money in terms of what parts weren't too badly damaged to need repair.
Brought my car in on a Monday and was told it'd be ready by that Friday - ended up picking up my car on that Wednesday!!
The team honored the quote and did fabulous work - you would never know the car had damage. On top of it they returned my car completely washed inside and out.
Hopefully I don't need more damage repairs on my car, but if I do I'll definitely come back here and I suggest you do too!
Amazing service. Car looks better than before the accident. Walter and his team were very professional and take great pride in their work. My car got hit overnight parked outside my house, thankfully Universal got my car fixed in just a few days. Honestly my car looks better than when I bought it. I recommend universal for sure everybody was very professional.
Universal repaired my car after an accident. It’s our second time using this body shop and both times they were excellent to work with. The repair jobs were flawless and thorough. They are responsive and give updates throughout the entire process. Walter made it super easy to deal with insurance (accident was not my fault so it wasn’t my insurance but then other persons that paid). The repair was done very quickly once all parts were in. Universal makes repairs easy, quick, and beautiful. I highly recommend them.
Once again, Walter and everyone at Universal went above and beyond to repair, repaint and return my car back to looking even better than brand new! A couple years of parking lot mishaps and scrapped up wheels had left my car looking a little beat up. Then the front bumper got dislodged and I came to Walter at Universal for help. I went in after being hit on my driver side having so much damage done to both my driver door and my back passenger door on the left side. Walter worked with me throughout the entire process would call me with any updates I was actually really shocked bc we were expecting car parts to come in in two weeks and it got there in a matter of days. The people who work there are genuinely such good people, care about their customers, and are such hard workers I would 10 out of 10 recommend this body shop the whole experience was made so easy and stress free if I ever needed anything done again I would come right back.
Very happy with the results. Good as original. I’m very picky attached to my car and search all week for a good place to remove my dents. They delivered excellent quality and the price was also very reasonable. They even gave me extra paint for touchup. I will definitely come back if I need to fix a new dent.
Unbelievably talented, these guys will probably end up with a car show in Netflix They left my silver metallic 16 year old Mustang looking like a brand new car. I’d like to thank Miguel and team for the job performed in my new edge. I couldn’t believe it was the same car.
