I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to today. It was my first time shopping at ACME Markets in Riverside. With the storm coming, I needed to grab a few essentials for my kids. The store was a bit picked over, which I expected since most people had probably shopped the night before.
While I was in the produce department, I met two employees who truly went above and beyond. Even though it was truck day and they were busy, they were incredibly friendly and made me feel valued as a customer. When I mentioned I needed specific items for my family, they didn’t hesitate they went downstairs to check the new delivery and brought up what I needed. On top of that, they took the time to guide me to other items around the store.
Their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help during such a busy time really stood out. Kudos to the management team for having such wonderful employees representing your store. Experiences like this are why customers come back.
Rude, incompetent and dismissive staff. Run down store in need of major upgrade of the building, products and people. They should shut down this store and get a real supermarket company. I’ve given up and moved on to supermarkets in Stamford.
I had a very pleasant experience with Acme Riverside, CT. I was there to purchase an arranged flower in a vase for my wife’s birthday and the lady in their flowers department was very nice, accommodating and really skilled on what she does. She made me those flowers and it turned out to be really beautiful. My wife truly appreciate it. Kudos to the wonderful lady for delivering exceptional service.
I'm not really sure how this store hangs on with the renovated ShopRite just a few minutes down the road: it's dingy and could really use a renovation. That said, there's certainly a lot of product jammed into a very small space.
they have a customer service department. and for what? nobody’s ever there. what if I wanted to buy a pack of cigarettes and I don’t have time? (which I didn’t want to. don’t do drugs, kids.)
I quickly had to buy some flowers but stayed to chat with the very friendly and helpful florist. She was so lovely and the man at the register was just as friendly. I always appreciate a grocery store that has friendly staff, it makes me want to shop there.
Great market to shop at for deals but couldn't find everything u might find at a stop and shop or market basket. But the deals are pretty good on some things!
I went specifically to this location because they are open til 11pm. It’s 9:30 pm right now, so PLENTY of time til closing and they barricade the front inner door and registers. Several people walked in and out again because they think it’s closed. I even double checked the store hours outside and it’s 11pm, but they are open! They are trying to make people not go in. Truly bizarre!
Today I had to call this location and the person that answered the phone was very rude she acted like she couldn't hear me or didn't have the time to assist me on looking if there was a certain product on the show instead she handed the phone off to the Frito Guy saying and I quote can you help her because she's asking a lot of questions and gave him the phone I feel like that was very rude and it wasn't his job to do her job he was very polite and he did help me and due to his customer service I did come to the location and and by the item I was looking I had to drive four exits to receive the item but it was worth it . The overall store is very clean and there is plenty of parking. And the only reason I gave a 3-star rating is because this is not the first rude experience I have had I overheard a cashier being very rude to a gentleman the last time I came here telling him do it look like I work in the meat department or would you like me to go see the price for you.. it was very rude to the point I was embarrassed for him
The store runs out of paper bags.... so they're charging customers a dollar a bag for the woven plastic ones. Incredibly stingy considering target basically gives them away.
3 weeks later same issue happens they're still charging a dollar for these propelyne bags
In all fairness this is my only experience in this store for an issue I couldn’t get fixed at the ACME store on High Ridge Road in Stamford where I always shop. I tried my luck here and it paid off. Customer service means a lot. Who doesn’t want to feel valued? An item that I wanted to redeem with my reward points is not available at any ACME store in lower Fairfield County. The High Ridge store would not substitute a comparable item they had in stock, which costs exactly the same as the item offered on my list. The other ACME stores don’t carry this product either. I buy a lot which adds insult to injury. I drove down to Riverside and took a comparable package from their freezer to Ali in Customer Service. The difference was like night and day. Ali honored the substitute product and fixed the problem with professionalism and respect for the customer (me.). A little kindness goes a long way. Just for the record I showed Ali that I removed the product from my rewards list. Thank you Ali.
Don’t waste your time doing order pick up. After they sent you a text message saying everything is ready, and you do check in in the app informing them you are outside, you will seat in your car for 40 min waiting for it.
Why don't store personal properly wear face masks ? This used to be our go to grocery store. The cashier had her mask below her nose. Many employees & shoppers did not seem to care. Goodby Acme.
Love this place. Started going when it first opened. Many changes over the years, but all for the good. Different casinos to choose from. Also many eating areas, and hotel rooms to pick from. Have tried many and no bad choices. Also love the bingo parlor. Its a great way to spend a part of your day or night. And of course have to add the many sanitizing stations set up throughout the place.
Just went to the store. Found a family pack of boneless chicken thighs at $5.99 per pound. A yellow tag on the shelf indicates boneless chicken thighs at $2.39 regularly but currently at $1.59 promotional price. The store staff claimed the price on the package is the price to pay. However, I found no labels on the shelves with a price tag of $5.99 per lb chicken thighs. Price Gouging? Shame!
Pretty decent grocery store. Giving three stars because it has a pretty sub par produce section. Never have I seen a good head of non-organic romaine on the self. Always disappointed when I see their non-organic salad selection. Everything else is good.
Convient clean and well merchandised store. Sale priced items are price competitive. Lancaster brand chicken is not good. Ask for Ali the supervisor if you need to resolve an issue. She seems to resolve any problem quickly ... very customer oriented employee.
Well its loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables and groceries but CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY BAD??????most of their sale prices are always messed up....... one of the lady supervisor or manager {Thai} is very very rude and she has no manners or respects for customers whatsoever!! So ya it will be a better shopping experience if they were more friendly.. especially the supervisor she needs to control her attitude and learn how to treat customers with a smile.....
So convenient. Well stocked, clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. Amazed by how much they fit into this tiny store. The aisles are a bit narrow and it can feel crowded compared to a bigger store. But the layout is excellent. Prices are okay, and sales on key items are frequent. The easy parking is a great feature. And the shopping center it's in is very good because of the other stores. It makes for a one stop shopping experience. Post office , CVS, bakery, pizza restaurant, GNC, liquor store, etc. It's a real community hub and it's a go-to store for quick and easy shopping trips.
This particular ACME Market is really pretty good. Great prices, great selection of fresh flowers. Well stocked all the way around. Good lighting, you dont have to wear sunglasses inside. The staff are professional and helpful. Sometimes there are long lines but it moves very quickly. This store is located in a mini mall, post office, CVS, liquor store, bakery, and a slew of restaurants and cafes, so it is a one stop place. Easy and plentiful parking. Situated close to 95. Good location.
Good. (Although the name sounds like a joke to me) This is the old A&P. The store is not overwhelming in size and does have bonafide bargains from time to time. Some of the long time employees have left but others are nice enough; not generally warm and fuzzy.Usually a good place to get in and out quickly. All departments are okay.. not spectacular but good range of price and selection.
This location has a friendly team and management, decent prices for Greenwich, and has been supportive of local charitable efforts. I think their prices are definitely lower over all than the previous store at the same location a few years ago.
Cons: Very high prices (comparable to fairway or whole foods). Noticed produce that was rotten and had mold growing on it.
Pros: the cashier was friendly but I didnt get her name as Acme's nametags just have the employee number. How antiseptic is that?
Summary: you have many other options. All better.
