Horrible communication skills. The most unfriendly employees i have come across. Don't park near their location without getting a state permit or they will hound you like you're stealing from them. I went to get gas and left gasless and confused. Their daily customer must be very loyal for them to be that rude.
Terrible experience, rude staff, incredibly overpriced.
I came here while stuck in traffic with the intention of getting $20 of gas to hold me off until I could get to a more reasonably priced station, as they were already charging over $.50/gallon more than anywhere else. I asked the attendant to put $20 on my card, and went to use the bathroom - to which I was told they had no public restroom, even for customers. My partner went inside to get something to drink, but after several minutes of not being helped by anyone, gave up. We returned to my car to find that the pump was at $75 and still pumping. When I reminded the attendant it was only supposed to be $20, he told me I had never told him that, and that it was my fault for not saying something sooner because it had been pumping for awhile. My partner chimed in, as he also had also heard me say it. The attendant insisted I had never told him, and there was nothing he could do now and was incredibly rude. Overall, a really terrible experience and I will avoid this place at all costs.
Very rude. We said pump $20 worth of their overpriced gas. We catch him pumping at $80 and tell him to stop. He was very defensive. They wouldn't let us use a restroom?
Horrible experience.
The service at this station is abysmal. If your car is in any way dangerous to drive, you will not receive help here. They will tell you you need to leave the premises and fix the car elsewhere endangering yourself and others.
Worst experience of my life. If I could give “no stars” I would. I came in to put air in my tires this morning. The valve came out of one of the tires and it went completely flat. James, the attendant, was unhelpful and rude to me. Said he couldn’t do anything. And then, when I started to get my spare out so I could change the tire myself, he told me I could not do that on the property. He made me back my car out of the service station into the street. I was stunned. I have never been treated so rudely. This is a “service station” for goodness sake. And I stop here regularly to fill up since I live in Rowayton. Never buying anything at Tokenkeke Service again and will tell all my friends to do the same. Thankfully, I was able to change the tire myself and am now at Town Fair Tire (great place) where they are taking care of me.
A bizarre experience—I was literally was concerned for our safety—the gas attendant seems unstable and was very upset that we came to the gas station to get gas!
Sadly Jake, a good mechanic and who was running the place, left and it's now a place to be avoided. On my car the front tires and back tires are different sizes and last time I had my snow tires put on they put one of the rear tires on the front and one of the fronts on the rear. Not to mention their gas prices are currently 50 cents more per gallon for regular and a dollar more for premium than elsewhere in the area.
The owner/manager, Jake, is terrific. Totally honest and trustworthy. Very responsive. Provides quick turnaround on car service such as oil changes or repairs at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend them.
I usually go there in the afternoon everyone is super nice but when I go in the mornings and James is there service is horrible .. always with an attitude really bad service
Specifically asked for Premium fuel and the gas attendant filled my tank with Regular. My car has a Pro Tune that Requires 93 octane only..and yes the attendant seemed very bothered by me wanting gas. If it's an issue make this a self service station. I'll be happy to pump my own gas.
Great customer service, repairs, and prices. You can definitely trust Tokeneke Service to fix your car quickly and at a reasonable price. Don't let "Tokeneke" lead you to believe they charge a premium.
Attendant seemed very annoyed that we wanted to get gas. Very rude overall. Do not come here. I guess that's why there wasn't many cars there besides the ones in the shop.
