Beautiful place to walk your dog, or just to enjoy the weather and the views

Easy trail, everything from open meadows to tree cover, and mild hills.

This is a nice and pretty unique hike to Monument Rock. The path is well cared for, and not very difficult. There are a couple of small inclines. There are large areas that have been either purposefully or accidentally burned, which is sad and ugly. The rock itself is quite odd - it looks totally different up close than far away, and one can't help but wonder: "How did this happen?" At 2.7 mostly level miles, it's a good hike for little ones or those trying to build their endurance. We went in October and it was not too busy.

Easy hike. Not a lot of elevation gain. Great for spending 1-2 hours out in nature without a huge strain.

We enjoyed our visit with family in Monument & Monument Rock was a pleasant walk on our first day still adjusting the the altitude from Louisiana! Beautiful views!

Took a 2 mile loop. Relatively flat on our trail. Bike & horse prints. See a herd of mule deer. Signs of wild fire and regrowth. Good hike for kids.

Short trail to a big rock. Worth a quick detour, but I wouldn't recommend it as a destination.

Not a very busy park! Super easy hike and very dog and kid-friendly. You’ll run into a few dogs that are off-leash but we haven’t had issues since every dog we’ve come across seemed very polite and off-leash trained. It’s not a very far hike either so little ones can make the trip there and back on their own. Very scenic depending on the season—I imagine it’s best during spring and autumn ? Highly recommend!

It is a large sand stone rock that is on public land to go visit. Depending on where you park it could be a 5 to 40 minute hike to get to the rock. It has been climbed over the past couple of year but it is very dangerous. This is a trad only route and the rock is incredible loose. You could pound a piton into the rock as hard as you could and just pull it out. There are recommendations on MTN Project about how people have climbed this route in the past.

Beautiful place for hike and stroll to view some of the many amazing places in Colorado!

Stopped thru while traveling and got a short hike in with the dogs, would definitely visit again. I was in a 30 foot RV and it was difficult to find parking (big rigs beware). The road thru was washboard gravel. It looked like more trails were being developed as well as I saw some volunteers working in the park.

Great park to hike or mountain bike, many trails and decent service to load maps if you get lost.

Very easy flat hike through the forest to reach it. I went during a storm so it wasn’t busy at all. I highly recommend this hike to beginners. The city views from the rock are superb and the forest is super tranquil. This area is popular for bikers and horse riders as well. I came across some bikers on my hike and saw several hoof prints in the sand.

Beautiful and relatively short hike! Round trip from where we parked, it was about 1.5 miles. It was flat and a great hike for people of all ages. The parking situation can be a bit confusing, but we may have also just been stupid.

Great hiking area with multiple trails to enjoy. Area is pretty flat by Colorado standards so all skill levels will be able to enjoy the area. The rock itself stands alone in the area so you can't miss it. Allow about 30-40 minutes to hike in from Nursery Road trailhead.

Monument Rock is the perfect place to visit if you don't want a long hike, but desire beauty.

This trail to the rock is not very much elevation gain at all! It’s a super easy hike and it takes about 40 minutes to get to the rock! I think it’s pretty interesting how it’s just the one humongous rock in the middle of everything out there. It’s beautiful!

My girlfriend and I decided to visit recently and it was a really serene walk with clear paths for walking on trail. Please note: you should always follow marked trails and not go off the beaten path because there are conservation efforts to restore local flora and fauna and trampling on them hinders growth or kills it off. I really enjoyed this walk though and got some awesome photos of the pathway that I’ve posted. Definitely worth visiting and if you go you will probably find parking a lot easier at the trailhead than surrounding areas.

Beautiful place! I'm an artist and love painting and photographing this lovely place! The attached oil painting is available at Bella Art & Frame in Monument. Also, the hike to Monument Rock is relatively level, to and fro from the parking lot at Mt Hermon Rd/Nursery Rd.

Great trails for hiking or mountain biking to Monument Rock. You can park in a few different lots at trail heads so you can make the hike longer or shorter. Most of trails connect so you can mix it up and do a loop. The rock itself is Monumental for sure and the views from the elevation is spectacular. The single track trails are like a roller coaster. Lots of fun!

Had a great hike with the family. Nothing too steep or difficult to climb. We hiked for two hours and we had food and drink with us.
