Amazing customer service. Great equipment. Highly recommend. Our family had never tried cross country skiing before and they helped get everyone set up and ready to go. We had a great time!

I needed help with my rear bike tire and the friendly staff directed me to Owen. Owen was so easy to be around and very knowledgeable/ helpful. During our interaction he was juggling other customers and thier concerns with ease it seemed. I had multiple issues that really weren't going to make the shop any money, and he was still attentive and helpful with advice etc...Thank you Owen and Estes Park Mountain Shop for a pleasant experience.

This place has everything you could think of for outdoor adventures! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and directed to what we needed, which was the rental department. We were shown how to use the micro spikes, and given poles just the right height for each of us. They even had spikes to fit my hubby's size 14 hiking shoes! When we ended up returning our gear a couple of days earlier than expected, they refunded us with no question or hesitation. (The elevation really kicked our butts on the trails!) I will definitely use this store again whenever I'm back in Estes Park.

Great store, lots of good outdoor equipment and clothes. We rented mountain bikes and picked up fishing gear. The employees were super helpful and guided us in the right direction to ride. We went back again we liked it so much.

I called ahead to see if we could rent e-bikes at anytime or only at a set start time like other places in town. I was greeted by an energetic, helpful guy who informed me we could come in at anytime and rent by the hour. Once we arrived the rental staff was awesome and great with 2 toddlers. They had us set up and off on the trail with recommendations for things to see and do and routes to take. We had a blast riding around the lake and down the path he recommended. I highly recommend you check this place out for rental needs.

Honestly this place is a mixed bag. Pretty much every single employee I’ve talked to in this store is really nice, knowledgeable, caring, respectful, and downright excited to help people out. And then there’s Zach who I think is the owner. I’ve seen less ego, in Silicon Valley, and less entitlement in Beverly Hills. There are ways to educate without belittling people. There were also several items in the store that had prices printed by the manufacture that were then marked up by the store by almost 100% in some cases. (Fishing rod going from $40-$80) I’d give this place 5 stars for the service and climbing gym being top notch alone if it wasn’t for Zach.

This is an excellent shop and has all that you need and want and more. The staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend them. This is one several very good businesses in the Estes area. Be sure to support local businesses, they genuinely make the difference.

We came unprepared for the snow in the park. The rental folks were super helpful and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. Our whole family got snow shoes, a sled, snow boots, and some trekking poles for less than 60 bucks. We looked like pros while we watched others wade into 2 feet of snow in their Hokas!

Our nine year old grandson had a wonderful time on his first ever rock climbing wall! Jake, the young man who assisted our grandson, was exceptional!! He was patient, kind and encouraging! Worth every penny to see the smile on my grandson's face!

The EP Mountain shop was incredibly helpful and supportive. We had a large group for rock climbing and snowshoeing. Adam and the crew were super friendly and made our experience one to remember. We will definitely be back!

When I visited, there wasn't any real meaningful selection of fishing gear. In fact, the selection was so poor that in my opinion the sign with the word "Fishing" should be removed from the building. The rest of the shop seemed fine.

As always. Great atmosphere and helpful people. Deals are “okay” not as good as they have been in the past. Still my go to every time I’m in town.

Lots to choose from! Not many hiking/outdoor shops where I live, so it was good to see the variety here. The staff was helpful and friendly. I bought a backpack.

I recently rented some hiking supplies (hiking boots, microspikes, and poles) from this shop. I usually have all my own supplies but my car is stuck up in Alaska with everything I needed. Being a local to this area I felt weird renting this stuff but Dan and Rio (sp?) were great and very helpful. Hopefully I have my hiking stuff soon but if not, I’d rent from this shop again! Everything was clean, intact, and in good working order.

Great place for quality gear and inexpensive rentals. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. The store is conveniently located and huge.

I went in to buy a pair of hiking shoes, it was nice because I was not hounded by staff and I was able to shop at my leisure. I did find a nice pair of hiking boots down in their Bargain Basement

We rented snowshoes and poles here for RMNP. The process was very quick, we were out in 15 minutes with recommendations for a place for breakfast, where to go cross country skiing (on another day), and assurances that the roads into RMNP were now open (they’d been closed for black ice but the staff was on it, making sure we could use our rentals). The rentals were inexpensive, reliable (MSR snowshoes), and in good condition. We will definitely rent here again.

The staff is awesome. They went out of their way to help my kids on the climbing walls and were very kind and enthusiastic about it.

We rented something from here every day of our stay. Sleds, snow shoes, skis, snowboards, whatever you need to have fun in the mountains. We were always met by friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend. Rent the night before and head out to the slopes the next day.

The staff is super knowledgeable and very helpful. They keep my Superfly...super fly. Great clothing and equipment selection and the rent bikes and stuff too.

My wife & I rented E-Bikes from Zack & Seth to ride around Lake Estes. The guys were Awesome, a real pleasure to deal with. The bike ride was just Great…absolutely Gorgeous scenery and very pleasant on an E-Bike. I would highly recommend this Beautiful bike ride & Great experience! Thanks guys!

**Store Owner/Manager Please Read, Thankyou, **Honest Review UNFORTUNATELY I had a very negative experience as a first timer purchasing my snow boots with RIO/RIA, he works in the bottom level rental gear, tall Caucasian male. Everyone was amazing, however he came off as rude, extremely opinionated, judgmental, negatively sarcastic, perhaps I got him on a bad day. He literally laughed at me for wanting to rent snow boots, apparently in his opinion my low cut hike shoes were fine for my snow hike up in the Rockies. I told him I still wanted to rent my snow boots as a first timer, he then laughingly stated my personal hiking shoes were meant to get dirty & not look “pretty”. He also added that I would not need my balaclava, apparently I was overdressed for my winter hike, he started interrogating me & asking me where I was from in a judgemental way. He finally & hesitantly gave me my snow boots, no professionalism at all. At the end of the day I was so happy I DID rent snow boots, wore my balaclava as it was all WELL needed, (remember listen to your body, it’s okay if you can’t handle winter weather, it’s better to come prepared than not). As first timers I believe we would ALL graciously accept any tips, recommendations, but the way they are suggested makes a big difference! Remember there is a first time for everything, to learn, & don’t let any negativity ruin your experience. Besides that store has a large variety in product and seems great!

Had a great time bouldering with my 12-year-old son here on a sloppy afternoon when RMNP was harder to access.

The gentlemen that helped us with our snowboard gear were very nice and extremely helpful with recommendations. Big store , variety selection for your outdoor activities and great prices. Very much recommend !

Found this place on our way to Estes Park. Great gear for the outdoor person! So many great brands to choose from. We will be back next weekend!

I thought good customer service was dead in this country, but it is alive and well in this store. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Plus a great selection of items are available. Highly recommend.
