We have been here about 4 times with our scrap CLEAN yellow brass. The first time we got 1.62/lb which was understandable cuz it was our first time and we had some dirty brass in there. So that's when we started going more then the extra mile to make sure our brass was clean, cleaner then most people's i know that for sure cuz we clean shine and sort everything before we go now. The 2nd and 3rd time was 2.62 a pound and we were very happy with that, this last time we just went in pretty sure it was Bonnie herself that took care of us and I mentioned how we took extra time to make sure it was CLEAN and sorted and she still gave us only 1.62. Pound which is not even the lower price for clean yellow brass, that is the price of dirty brass. So I don't know why she would do business like that. Just seemed to me that she will just try to make an extra buck off someone and their hard work instead of being fair. The other workers noticed that extra mile we took and paid us for it and I appreciate them for that.
I had a poor experience here. I felt like the tall elderly Man was calling me stupid. He was trying to give me a sales pitch on an item. The price he wanted was 2x the price of a brand new one. The item had a hydraulic cylinder on it and told me one couldn’t see this cylinder. I said “yes I can it’s right there.” And pointed to it.
He walked away and said “you win” go buy a brand new POS then…. Before this I asked how much he wanted for the semi out front. He asked “how much do you have!”…. I never got a price he was looking for.
It seemed like he didn’t really want to do business.
Bonnies has taken a nosedive, I was quoted $.43/pound for yellow brass, first call I made in pueblo was $1.80/pound and every call after that to springs or Denver was a minimum of $1.84/pound. I might consider taking my steel to Bonnies because it isn't worth the haul to pueblo, but all other materials I'll be taking out of town to a better paying yard.
Dropped one star because I took a car body out, received a whopping $32 check that bounced at my bank. When I called to rectify the situation I was told Bonnie would call me back and there was a glitch in their system and there were several others who had the issue, never received a call back and it reflected negatively on my account. It's been nearly a month and I've never received a call, and was never reimbursed. It sucks because steel isn't worth hauling to Pueblo but now I'll be forced to, I will NEVER trust Bonnie's again and I suggest others proceed with caution.
Worst prices. If you have a lot of scrap/car, it’s worth driving into Springs/Pueblo, if you don’t have a lot of scrap, it’s worth waiting until you do for what they’ll give you.
$1.10 per pound for clean copper is an absolute rip off. I could get more for dirty copper almost anywhere else. Employees don't seem to care about taking advantage of people. I would recommend going literally anywhere else to scrap, you will have a better experience and get better value for your scrap.
Dealing with the owner discovering that this business is the worst business located here in Penrose Colorado that the owner had my car crashed and would not rewrite the check to me she told me sounds like a loss .
$20 to use scale , that's an outrageous price if you ask me and there scale is off by couple 100 pounds the lot is dirt mixed with nails and who knows what else and it to get out w truck and trailer is a bit of a hassle
Was promised steel grates at $20 each. Drive an hour to go get em. Have proof via Facebook messenger. Met with "oh that's a mistake, they're $35 each" wouldn't budge. Will not return to Bonnie's Car Crushers.
Ive used Bonnies a handful of times this year. My experience with them has always been positive.
They get you in through the scales and back unloading. Their workers are very experienced running equipment an I say workers because they're the only place ive been too that helps you unload! When you scale out and walk in to receive payment the gals are always great.
Scrap prices are fair, usually little less than pueblo or springs pays. But distance being closer along with the help, is the difference.
I Enjoy Scrapping With Bonnies
I needed an old RV and shed ripped out of a property that has been vacant for ages. I had no idea how it was going to get done, but I knew I couldn't pull it off myself. Rich and his crew showed up with all sorts of machinery and took care if it without any issues. He was great with all aspects, communication, scheduling, and completing the work. Nice guy to boot.
