Great selection of used gear in great shape. Not super-cheap but definitely worth taking a look. I found good deals of gently used and almost like new items here.

I really enjoy shopping and selling here. Almost everything I have brought in for consignment has sold and I am happy with the price. Once they had a super pretty jacket as a display for something and wouldn’t let me buy it, so that was kind of a bummer. The staff is really friendly and helpful!

This place rules. Great repair service and a ton of solid second hand items to peruse.

Wide selection, decently orginized (sizes are mixed togeather but general area markings are clear). Prices are fair and staff is very friendly! The free bins out front are also very fun. We got a pair of pants inside and a box of mason jars for flower vases outside. Also its dog friendly inside!

I really do love Boulder Sports Recycler, BUT....lately I've gotten home with items and noticed they are ripped or stained. The lighting in the store and the changing rooms is not great, so I missed a few things. For example - black hiking pants that I thought were great, but didn't see small holes in the seat of the pants, even though I inspect items before buying consignment. Otherwise, all the good things everyone says are true - wonderful friendly staff, amazing prices, and a huge variety of items.

The folks are always friendly and they have so much gear at a great price. The repair shop is excellent!! They did such a great job repairing the zipper on some ski pants so I can keep shreddin' em and not send them to the landfill and I was more than happy with the fair price. Thanks sew-master(z?)!!!!

I love this store so much! The Boulder Sports Recycler always has an awesome variety of gear. I usually go in with something specific I’m looking for, and more often than not, I find it, which honestly feels like magic when it comes to used gear. It’s such a gem of a place. Highly recommend stopping in if you're looking for gear (or just want to browse, you’ll probably end up finding something anyway).

I've shopped and consigned at this store for 25 years, through a few ownerships and a few locations. It's a delightful store where owners of gear consign their stuff at very fair prices. Most of the gear is in good to excellent shape and has at least 50 % of its effective life left. The selection is often stunning, especially for clothing and packs. The staff is highly knowledgeable about gear and will answer your questions. If an item happens to have a concealed defect after purchase, they have credited me the full purchase price. This has only happened once in 25 years. It's a great system for consigning your used gear IN SEASON. Overall a five star very happy satisfied customer and consignor experience.

I love this place. Super great place to get quality used gear for a good price. I got a lovely down sleeping bag and nice hiking poles. Wanted to particularly compliment Paul. He was super kind and helpful.

Great selection! Some things are priced a little high, but worth the trip!!!

I’ve always enjoyed my time here and the staff has always been a great group of people. But, two days ago, I had a couple of questions about a binding/boot fit. The first guy with shorter hair behind the counter on the snow gear side was friendly, knowledgeable and didn’t seem immediately annoyed like the second “too cool for school” skinny, long haired dude behind the same counter. We had a question about some guardian bindings and if a particular boot would work. First short-haired guy, well, he was awesome and friendly. We figured it was okay to ask a question about boots and bindings and first guy was eager to help and seemed to enjoy interacting with customers. But, long haired dude who was not doing anything while the nice short-haired guy was answering someone else’s questions was annoyed when we had another yes or no question. It was a simple yes or no or even an “I’m not sure the answer to that” kind of a question we needed answered, and the store was pretty empty at the time. Normally the interactions are awesome with the staff here, and most are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for the outdoors. “Too-cool-for-school-guy”…not so much. I was with someone who hasn’t skied since he was a kid and literally just had a question. We resorted to finding our answers online. I also overheard the couple next to us talk about how they were going to wait until the nice guy was done helping someone else because long haired guy wasn’t very friendly. I’ll point out that if someone is new to a sport like the gal from the couple sitting next to us who was uncomfortable asking a question due to this kid’s attitude and ended up leaving, well, this is a sure fire way to turn people away from a shop and bum out a seasoned ski bum like me. I ended up with two pairs of boots thanks to nice guy’s assistance ( thanks buddy! )and he left with nothing and ended up heading to Epic Mountain and bought a whole set up to get him going. We are extremely easy-going people who have worked in the service industry and I’m a fan of supporting local businesses. But, we read the room, aka his annoyance and lack of interest in assisting people in the shop. Sorry you decided our yes or no question was beneath you. Perhaps you should take your “tude” to the mountains and stick to a behind the scenes type of job, like a warehouse gig ( no offense to warehouse peeps, he just needs less face-time) because the only “cool” thing about you was your hair.

We discovered the Sports Recycler just a couple of years ago and now we stop in regularly. It’s often worth a look to see what we can get for way less than a new purchase. We’ve gotten some really good deals. We started consigning outgrown and unused gear and clothing and have gotten decent money back out of that process. I appreciate that the store helps keep lots of things out of the landfill, too. This place is a great resource! Thanks so much!

I drove an hour to drop off 4 consignments 2 of them were skis the other 2 ski boots. They turned me away on all 4. So I decided to walk around the store to check out what they’ve got and I found everything to be very overpriced. Like old used t shits for 8$ a decent backpack was no less than 70$ most skis were no less than 400$. You could get comparable gear on Amazon for cheaper and save the trip. I think there marketing strategy has issues take the older gear and give customers a more affordable option!

The best outdoor gear consignment store, period. Best for Boulder, best in nation, just best. Anything you need for outdoor sports you can find here at a good price. Any extra, good condition gear for outdoor sports you have to sell, you can consign here. Terms are good, process is organized and straightforward. Staff are friendly.

the costumer service sucks. As well as everything at the store the lower prices are just to get you to buy it. They sell you broken and heavily used equipment, especially climbing equipment. I do not recommend that anybody should buy climate equipment from this store. I recently bought a pair of shoes and they said that they were compatible with what I had and they weren’t and then I went back the next day and they were not accept a refund, even though that it was their fault so all and all this store sucks do not shop here

They repaired my ripped water bottle pockets on my North Face backpack when everyone else in town told me no! Not only is the repair high quality, but it was very reasonably priced done in only two days (instead of an estimated 4-6 weeks from North Face)!

They advertise discount dates on the price tags but it's basically a bait and switch to get you in the store. Store policy is that employees can put items on hold for 48 hours and customers are restricted to 24 hours. Any item of quality will not make it to the advertised discount date because an employee will put it on hold for 2 days prior. Never allowing the customer to realize the extra discount and preventing consignments from getting a higher sale price because employees take it off the floor. Nice to work there not as fun to shop. Edit: They updated their policy as of 4/6/24. Much appreciated BSR. 1 -> 3 stars

This place is incredible for outdoor enthusiasts. Huge and diverse selection of hiking, running, climbing, biking and just about every other kind of gear you can imagine. Good mix of newer and older items to fit different budgets. Thanks to this store I basically never shop retail anymore. Oh and consignment there is also very convenient. I like to think of it as my outdoor gear library, where I check out gear I need and check in gear I no longer need. Fantastic gem of a store.

Completely disappointed.. This place told my boyfriend they had a XL snowboarding pants for women starting at 20 bucks and so we drove from Denver to Boulder after hearing that and essentially was told what was there was there and they had almost no selection for the size (beginner trying to get in shape) under $100 and we drove almost 30 miles for that. Horrible business practices..

Great prices, terrible customer service. The cashier accidentally charged my credit card $770 instead of $170. I came back to get my refund and the owner basically bullied me over what was not my mistake, saying "You don't check your receipt before you leave a store?" I got my refund but because the owner made me feel uncomfortable, I wouldn't go back.

Nice store helping reduce waste while saving the outdoor enthusiast money. Lots of merchandise so be sure to take your time to look through everything. Very reasonable prices and knowledgeable staff that can get you set up with the proper gear you need.

I love this place and make a point to stop here nearly every time I'm in the area! Great selection of outdoor equipment and clothing to sift through, the majority of which are for phenomenal prices (especially if you're willing to wait)! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the consignment process is easy and rewarding (including 10% off in-store with store credit!).
