This was our first time visiting this place. Honestly, we were winging it. We originally were going to Buckhorn across the street, but sadly, we didn't get there in time and we would have had to wait 3 hours for a table. So we discovered this place. It's a cute little restaurant and we only had to wait like 10 minutes for a table. We also were offered water and menus as we waiting. Very accommodating! Our waitress went above and beyond. I feel so bad because we cannot remember her name, but she was the BEST of the best. She knows her stuff!! Not only did she give us some history on the restaurant, but she also let us know that Buckhorn and this place have the same owner. I never knew that! She was warm and inviting. Held conversations with us. Made sure we had refills on our drinks and waters every time she came to the table. She also took our orders WITHOUT WRITING IT DOWN. When our food arrived, it was totally accurate too! Super impressive and she needs a raise for sure! She seriously gave us the best first impression of coming here. She also was very descriptive about the house bread and to dip in the butter then the oil. OMG it was absolutely amazing. Wish I could have taken some home, but we ate it all haha!! The only downfall was my daughter ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a side of grilled vegetables. She sadly got food poisoning (partially her fault because she didn't tell me the chicken was still a bit pink). She was sick all night. Other than that, and there was a waitress or hostess that had red hair (unsure of her name) but when she went to collect payment, she was awfully rude and gave dirty looks. That was a little off-putting. However, despite all that, whoever our main waitress was, she's absolutely amazing. What we do recommend here is the house bread, the grilled Brussel sprouts with pistachios (to die for) and the brisket burgers (Cafe and the Cali burger). Definitely a pleasant evening because of our waitress. Even though there were some downfalls, we do recommend this place. It's great.

As a fundraiser for St. James 2 years ago, I was so impressed & couldn’t wait to try in person. I visited in person for the first time yesterday. The service was beyond amazing! The food, however was basic. The crab salad sandwich tasted sweet like it had miracle whip. The BLT was too salty & unimpressive. I’m only giving this 4 stars because the service my server was stellar! I’m sad. I’d expected to impress the visitors.

We had a family gathering here for an early Christmas. We could not have been any more impressed with the attentive, nice and fast service. The atmosphere is quite nice and the food very good. Grab a cookie on your way out. They are delicious. My second time there and will definitely go back.

I have heard so many great things about this place. My wife, son and I decided to get a bite to eat after church. We drive into the town of Winters, which is one of my favorite cities to visit. When we checked in the wait wasn’t to long, we were sat down in 20 min. I have to give props to the hostesses they put up with no nonsense. I ordered the scramble which came with potatoes, overall it was ok, lacked seasoning and potatoes were eh! I which the plate was served with tortillas. My wife orders the beat salad, she enjoyed it. My son ordered the chicken fried steak he said it was ok, he did say he liked the biscuits with gravy . Overall this place was ok, I might come back and try the pizza.

The drinks and the food arrived quickly. Customer service was amazing waiters checked in on my table constantly. Communicated any time is what needed and kept us updated. The food was so delicious. One thing that will keep me going will me the pastries and the coffees.

the first time i tried eating here was at 11:30am on a sunday and there was a 30min wait. unfortunately, i was on a bit of a time crunch then and couldn’t eat here. this time around, we got there at 8:30am on a sunday and was sat down right away! we ordered family style - chicken & waffles, putah creek scramble, and country fried steak. the chicken and waffles were what you would expect, their sriracha syrup was a great touch! i could have done without the putah creek scramble but the guys i was with enjoyed it more than me. the country fried steak was my favorite! it was just what i wanted and the biscuits were soft, especially yummy with the gravy. the home fries on the side were also great. we had pumpkin pie and triple berry pie, both of which were delectable. highly recommend!

This is a great spot! If you are in or nearby Winters, it’s one of my recommendations. I have had wonderful Salads here. Their breakfast and pastries are delicious as well. The staff have always been friendly! Sometimes it can be busy, and service may be a little slow, and additionally you might not get to enjoy the outdoor seating, or it maybe a little louder inside, but that is just the way the cookie crumbles in the world of restaurants, it is no fault on the staff or establishment. So here goes. I love this place. Their food is good. Ive only been here for breakfast but they do it well. I tell you about the things i know. Biscuits and gravy is my go to breakfast and not everyone does it well. This place does. Pancakes here are amazing. One pancake fills entire plate. Buttery, fluffy, perfect. Bacons always perfect. They dont have hashbrowns but their ranch potatoes are good. Chorizo and eggs are fantastic. Ive never not been happy with their food. Not the most expensive breakfast place ive been to. Compares to every other breakfast place. They also have various pies and cookies for sale ,(they are huge), which are also very good. If i had one negative about them is that because they are so good, wait times for a table on the weekends can run upwards of 35+ minutes, and without much seating to wait. So not unusual to see 20 people standing around the front entrance. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Once seated, it all is pretty efficient and well worth any wait. Cant reccomend enough. Its very good in my opinion. They only serve breakfast and lunch.

Awesome restaurant in downtown Winters! My husband and I came for a date on a Saturday night when it was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately outside! The atmosphere was great especially with the live music coming from the brewery down the street. Our server was attentive given how busy it was. We got the Patty Melt and the Cali Burger. The beef was sooooo juicy and both sandwiches were loaded with flavor. Their fries are the perfect cut and fried to perfection! We will definitely be back!

To be fair, the food was good, but the service was not. The girl at the reception was very rude. They need to level up their service to keep those customers returning.

Good food, good service, relaxed ambiance. Ordered veggie scrambled eggs well done, came with toasted bread and side of veggies and square fries. Loved the brick wall aesthetic

This is a great breakfast and lunch place. It's been there in Winters California forever. All the food is tasty.

Amazing food, great customer service. Excellent baked goods. You must try the chicken fried steak, and the strawberry scone. The cappuccinos aren’t really made properly but I don’t care I still order them. The people are so lovely, sometimes it can take a little long for them to bring your check at the end. We love this place so much.

A cozy pleasant cafe with delicate food and desserts. Services are friendly and prices are reasonable. They also offer coupons for buying wines in the nearby wineries.

During past twenty years, we have stopped off at the Putah Creek Cafe for our meals and have never been disappointed! A special thanks goes out to Beatriz for providing us with outstanding customer service during our lunch on 21 May 2025!

Very nice breakfast spot. The small town of Winters is a destination worth going to see of it's own. We sat outdoors and the weather was perfect. The menu is short and basic I had a very tasty chicken fried steak and the wife's carnitas plate was probably one of the best I ever tasted. It had carnitas, black beans cheese on corn tortillas topped with eggs and avocado, the seasonings were amazing I definitely recommend it. They have good pastries aa well.

We felt so welcomed here and the food and drinks were delicious (highly recommend the huevos rancheros, Mimosa kit the biscuit and gravy). Also, the interior decor is beautiful! Winters is such a wonderful town to visit and we will definitely be back here the next time we make another trip.

Friday, 3/28/2025 - we decided to check out a little town Winters, CA. We saw a busy restaurant and decided to try them. We went to eat at Putah Creek Cafe. Address is 1 Main St, Winters, CA 95694. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) street parking. We parked at the little park across the street. 2) a hostess seated us outside. There were outside and inside seating. 3) restaurant had dessert you can buy to go or eat there. 4) the hostess and our waitress was professional and friendly. Our waitress smiled a lot when serving all her tables. 5) we got the Davis Farmers Market Sandwich for $17 and sweet potato fries $6.00. All was very good. Sandwich was perfect, bread soft and easy to eat, sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they had skinny fries!! So good. 6) water tasted great. No funky or metal taste. 7) tables, chairs, plates, cups, utensils all clean. 8) bathroom clean. 9) cute restaurant Cons 1) none Conclusion Winters is a cute tiny town. This restaurant was good, staff professional and friendly, foods great, bathroom clean, cute decoration inside, and they had a little bar area (but I could be wrong) I saw people sitting at. I liked this restaurant and this cute little town. It was easy to get to and quiet. There was an event starting at 6pm tonight, but we didn't stay for it. I'd go here again.

Great place to eat comfort food. The staff is incredible and efficient. You don't want for anything. The portions are large so you won't leave hungry. Overall awesome place!

Our first and maybe only day in Winters but we’ll come back just for this place. 5 stars. Incredible food and service. Lots of demand on a Saturday morning but so worth it. Chicken and waffles with exquisite bacon is the best I’ve had in Nor Cal. wife had baked french toast which was so moist it wasn’t even served with syrup. Coffee drinks ✔️. Loved it!

Highly recommend the Putah Creek Chorizo and corn soufflé! The salsa that went with it was so fresh and tasty. Had the mimosa flight, wasn’t bad, should have tried the Bacon Bloody Mary instead. I look forward to come back and try out other items. Everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Our first time in Winters and we decided to visit this Café. Our server was so friendly, I was amazed when she brung out our Snickerdoodle and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies because they were so much bigger than we expected. The French Toast was such a pleasant surprise! It's not always done this way but it's so delicious, I loved it. The meal portions are generous and it's pretty inexpensive. For my first time here it was such a nice experience with good company, good service and good food ??

It's an old red brick building so it's loud inside but the food is good and they have counter service, sit down inside and patio service. We stopped for lunch but on the daily board they had Gingerbread pancakes that I just had to try and they were awesomely tasty, soft and thick and you only need one because there almost as big as the plate. I ordered 2 ($14) and I couldn't finish it and I'm a big eater.

Incredibly delicious food! Drove from Napa and we're not disappointed. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and quick to take your order and bring you anything you need. The beet harvest salad was DELICIOUS and so were each of the burgers. Highly recommend stopping by for a meal.

Great breakfast! My wife and and I both had the huevos rancheros and it was the absolute best I have ever had! The carnitas on top was done perfectly, the salsa tasty and eggs were good. BTW - had 2 great bloody Mary’s - a little celebration of our anniversary! The service was friendly and the atmosphere very cordial.
