Unfortunately, I feel it’s important to share a very negative experience involving this towing company for the safety of others.
On Thursday, December 18, there was a road rage incident involving Adam from Martinez Towing in Yuba City. He was driving southbound on South Walton in a tow truck, with his daughter in the vehicle. As my wife was pulling out of Creative Kids Daycare, making a right-hand turn onto South Walton toward the red light at Lincoln Street, Adam approached at what appeared to be well above the posted 35 mph speed limit. My wife observed him roughly 0.2 miles away when she safely entered the roadway.
At the red light, Adam aggressively confronted my wife, calling her a “fat pig” for pulling out in front of him and causing him to brake. Given the distance, speed limit, and the fact that there was already a red light ahead, there was more than enough time for a professional driver to slow down safely and gradually.
I am a former tow truck operator myself with 10 years of experience in the Bay Area, and safe, defensive driving was always a core part of our training—regardless of how rushed we were. What occurred here was completely unprofessional and unsafe, especially considering this happened near a daycare.
After the incident, my wife and I went to Ramirez Towing to speak with a manager, only to later find out that Adam himself is the manager. The business is operated by a mother-and-son duo, and we were given what felt like a very dismissive and inadequate apology.
I hope this review serves as a warning to potential customers about how this company conducts itself, both on the road and in business interactions. Professionalism, safety, and respect should be the bare minimum—especially in an industry that operates large commercial vehicles.
I experienced an extremely unsafe and concerning incident with this business, despite never having been a customer of theirs at all. While driving with my children, one of their operators, Adam, nearly rear-ended my vehicle, showing a blatant disregard for public safety and putting my family at risk. The entire incident was completely unprovoked—there was absolutely no justifiable cause for Adam to behave the way he did.
Immediately after the near-collision, Adam escalated the situation by becoming verbally aggressive and directing misogynistic, derogatory remarks toward me. He tried to justify his offensive language by claiming it was his First Amendment right, despite being in a business vehicle. Even more disturbing, Adam had a child in his own vehicle at the time, making his aggressive and unsafe behavior even more unacceptable. As a pregnant woman alone with my children, this felt especially threatening and hostile.
I am unsure of Adam’s mental state, but he seemed very on edge, as if this minor incident was enough to cause him to have this angry outburst. His actions caused a public disturbance, backed up traffic, and created an environment that could have led to further safety issues. My husband, who is a former tow truck driver himself, was astounded by the lack of professionalism and safety demonstrated. When he attempted to address the situation and request a simple apology, Adam and the business refused to take any accountability. Instead, he hid behind the owner—his mother—who repeatedly responded with, “What do you want from me?” without addressing the seriousness of the incident.
Given the threatening and unprovoked nature of this encounter and the clear public safety concerns, I contacted the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office. An official incident report was filed, and CHP has been provided with dash-camera footage for further investigation. I have also submitted a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau to ensure this incident is documented through consumer protection channels. Additionally, I verified with AAA that they are not affiliated with this company, which makes sense given the lack of professionalism and safety standards I experienced.
This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable for any company operating commercial vehicles. I trust that the appropriate authorities will thoroughly investigate to prevent any future harm.
someone parked right behind my parking spot in a red zone making me unable to move my car. i called this company and received barely any information on how long it would take or when they would get here. i waited over an hour for them to show up meanwhile im late to work because i cant move my car and they never showed. finally the owner of the car came to move it and with no help of this towing company.
Jesse came out today and towed our Dodge Dart from our house to the shop to have our starter replaced. He showed up in less than an hour and was very kind and curtious. I will use him in the future. Also great priced compared to other companies in the area!
Had a wonderful experience using Ramirez Towing, they really worked with us in towing our truck back to our house after it broke down. We tried calling other places but they were either too busy or way to expensive. I will definitely be referring them to other people in the community. Thanks again Ramirez Towing!!
Came to my rescue when my pickup had the brakes go out almost an hour from home - they said they would beat any other quote I got, then they did - in fact they were under half the price of some of the competition! 5 stars, A+ service. Friendly, easy to work with and knew what they were doing. 10/10 would recommend and would use again (though I hope I don't have to!)

A man by the name of Jesse has saved me a couple times this year, the first time I was broke down at 5:30 in the morning and he was there to save me within 20 minutes very professional, very fast service! The second time was business related long story short battle of parking within businesses and Jesse handled business like a professional, was very respectful and all-around an awesome person. I proudly carry Ramirez towing signs in my parking lot!
Tried to get a price about a tow so I knew how much I needed to get, he thought I was looking for a cheapest quote. Even explained I wanted to know so I can get the money. Bad service for a "24" hour company. WAP in Marysville gave me better service.
Extremely professional and quick. I had a vehicle accident and was extremely distraught at the moment however when I spoke with Jesse the owner he was very professional and patient which helped calm me down, he let me know what the process would be like, and before I knew it they were there! Very quick. I did not need to pay anything out-of-pocket they worked with my insurance which AAA did not and I highly recommend them I could not fathom how thankful I am for their service and professionalism. Most companies take forever to arrive to the scene but they were very quick efficient friendly and I highly recommend them to anyone who’s ever stuck in a situation where they need a vehicle towed etc. Thank you Jesse and Team
We've done business with these guys multiple times over the past few years and haven't had any issues with them. Every time we've called they've been helpful and fast. No complaints.
Their service was excellent and they arrived earlier than expected. They were also so friendly. They even had to bring me something I left in the car The best thing that happened was they called around to a repair shop so we could get our vehicle fixed that day. We still had hours to get to our destination. I would choose this company if you need a tow.
I called Ramirez Towing after another company, sent by roadside assistance, had left us stranded for 4 hours, promising they would be there in 30 min multiple times. Ramirez Towing was friendly and showed up when promised. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service and for your reasonable rates. If we are ever in need again, you'll be our first call!
Jessie Ramirez was Extremely rude. Both on the phone and in person. Unreasonable. No people skills. Poor customer service. This company basically stole my truck. With the cooperation and efforts of outside parties (relatives) conspired to have my vehicle towed. I was in the process of moving, my SUV was loaded with personal belongings. He gave me 7 min. To retrieve what I could. He did not allow me to get the rest of my stuff. Upon arrival, One of my passenger side windows had been broke during the tow or storage process.
Ramirez Towing has been doing all of my tows for years. I have complete confidence to recommend them to all of my clients as well. I have had them do local tows, long distance tows and even lock outs. I will continue to support this local family run business, which is also owned by a US veteran. Highly recommended!
This guy's are the best!! They will go the extra mile and do what others won't to make sure you are secure and get you home safe. Great prices and easy to work with. So if you get stranded anyplace anytime these guys are tops!! Give them a call you won't regret it and they have cars for sell too for that young one or just for an extra vehicle. You can't go wrong!
Was in Yuba city and car broke down on highway 20. Called Ramirez towing and came within 10 minutes of calling. Speedy and friendly. Had used other tow services before and Ramirez towing is one I highly recommend
If I could give this guy 10 stars I would. He answered the phone, was pleasant to talk to and probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met - which helps greatly in a stressful situation. I just can't say enough nice things about this guy and their services. I will be exclusively using this company going forward.
Had gotten into an accident. My younger daughter was in the car. It was obviously totaled. My daughter needed to be seen but not life threatening. My insurance company sent for tow company. We were having car troubles on our way to go camping this weekend and we were towing our new 30 foot toy hauler. We called Ramirez Towing and they not only towed our trailer but gave us a ride to the camping grounds. We really appreciate Pablo’s help. He is very nice and a great driver!
I am a AAA card owner and I was surprised when I needed a tow in Sutter they called towing company out of Sacramento. After waiting close to 2 hours my son called Ramirez Towing. They were very busy but made time for a quick tow from Sutter to Yuba City. They arrived within 10 to 15 minutes. I recommend them completely! I would definitely call them again!
Was hit by one of their drivers two years ago coming down the 10 st bridge into Marysville, and the driver ran. Called the tow yard and the owner told me to come to the shop to get the insurance information. When I got there the owner already had a cop on site and I was accused of being a "pill addict"- that the owner would not stand for me filing a claim with my insurance... regardless of the damage I had. The cop stated that there was no proof their driver hit my vehicle and encouraged me to accept the measly $200 the owner was tossing at me to shut up and leave with. Scant less company, be careful around their tow trucks to avoid getting struck. Also, notice they respond to negative reviews by yelling at people.. real professional.
Ramirez towing really got me out of a bind the other night. I was arriving from Southern California for a visit when my car suddenly shut off on highway 99. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere since I'm not familiar with the area and I thought I would have to wait all night for a tow. Adam arrived within 20 minutes, I couldn't believe it! I've had so many bad experiences with tows but Adam made it quick and painless! He was very friendly and professional, he reassured me he would have me running in no time. He got my battery restarted and recommended me to a great mechanic, he even escorted me into town just in case it shut off again! If you want a Tow that goes above and beyond I would recommend Ramirez Tow any day. Did I mention he was the owner! Top Notch!
I had the pleasure of being taken care of by the owner himself (Adam), it took him no more than 15 minutes to reach me. He was very professional, friendly, and straight forward. He treated my vehicle like it was his own. He was fast and very efficient. This guy knows what he's doing and it shows! He hooked my car up safely and he did it the right way. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service he gave me, it's rare to find an honest and reliable towing service nowadays. I'll be using Ramirez towing from now on.
They forgot my first appointment and when I called them they said sorry and they’ll be here in 30 minutes. Well that thirty minutes turned into 80 minutes because they apparently couldn’t find my house. Tell me how are you supposed to trust a towing company that is late and can’t find the correct address. Correct addresses are literally what you’re supposed to specialize in I live in a house on a corner lot it’s not hard to find. So this guy decides to call me angrily after I cancel on him because I didn’t trust he’d take my car to the right place and he confronts me like I’m the problem and hangs up on me. I hope you guys pick up some better business practices and if you don’t then please don’t become Uber drivers when your place goes out of business because we need people who can properly utilize the power of google maps.
Ramirez Towing has always been the place that has towed my vehicles. They have every time been right there when me or one of my family members have needed them.. Each time they have been very helpful an the price's have been nothing but fair... I'd recommend there service's to anyone.. If you want a professional it Ramirez towing hands down.. My personal Favorite is Bobby, CUTE, CUTE, CUTE, he makes braking down worth it... The best ever ....... FACT.....
So last night I needed to find a place to move an 8'x12' shed. That's right, a shed. I called shipping companies, uhaul, even a shed moving company. Everyone wanted a ridiculous amount to move it from Yuba City to Biggs, CA. More than what the shed was worth. That's when I decided to call Ramirez Towing. Adam asked many questions to prepare what seemed like a reasonable rate and haul of my new shed. He was polite, professional and confident in their abilities to get the job done. When Jesse first showed up he realized that he needed to remove the rails on his flat bed truck, he reassured me that he would be right back. After making a quick run to the shop and getting the rails removed(most would have just called back and said they couldn't do it, or were too busy) pulled the shed right in place, strapped it down and off to my house we went. When we got there, it was dark and a tight fit. He asked me where I wanted it, I showed him and after a quick assessment, he put it exactly where I had asked. No easy task either. I guarantee that now other tow company in Yuba City would have gotten this job done this fast with zero problems. I know this because I was denied by all the other companies out there. Payment was easy and paper less. I got an emailed copy of my receipt before Jesse left and nice new work shop. Thanks again fellas. Anytime I'm in need of a tow or haul, I will call you.
I was on a family vacation in Yosemite National Park and work in Yuba City. Adam and his team sent a truck to haul my Chevy Tahoe back home after the transmission gave out backing into our campsite. Saved my you know what bro. Thank you for all your help. You saved my family vacation. You guys are the best and took care of my family. Great company, fair, and reliable.
I have used Ramirez Towing for may years. I have always gotten great service at a reasonable price. I have had several people suggest I use another well known service. I did once and regretted it. It took longer to get towed 5 miles with that other company than it did with Ramirez to be towed 97 miles.
Last night my wife, grand daughter and I had engine trouble in Stockton and had the car towed to Yuba City. The driver, Steve was courteous and made what was a difficult situation much more pleasant. He was kind, quite a good driver and made us feel at ease. There trucks are always clean and comfortable.
I will continue to use Ramirez Towing and highly recommend then to others.
