I want shout out thanks to Powersports of Modesto. I went to their Octoberfest today and it was great Food, music and people. On heading home I got 8 miles south of town and my shift linkage broke, stuck in 1st on my 24 hs1300. I limped back to MPS in first. Things were wrapping up there and they were starting to close up. They didn't have the part. So they pulled one off of a showroom bike, fixed mine, and sent me home. New owner, but second time this staff has saved me, the first time 20 years ago. Still the best in NorCal.
Love this shop, they really take care of their customers and cater to your needs! I’m a very short and they helped me find the parts I need to lower my bike. 2nd time buying from them.

I checked my phone for a BMW motorcycle dealer and found one in Modesto, Power Sports of Modesto.
I rolled up, walked into these service department and was greeted by a young confident service manager named Rick.
He stopped what he was doing walked out to my Rninet, identified the leek and rolled the bike into the service department.
You can’t get any better than that!

Do not purchase anything from Powersports of Modesto!! We never had a problem with them after various purchases until this year that we purchased a BRAND NEW Canam maverick xrc back in February. Just after three short rides a light popped on our dashboard we took it in and they said that it had melted and that they THOUGHT (not confirming it was either or) it was because either “dust or water.” Yet what Canam does is advertise their products on water, sand dunes, dirt etc so how are you going to make a product that can’t handle what you advertise? I gave the the service guy my email so he could email me the “proof” yet I was never shown ANY PROOF to confirm it was that. Just the other day my husband went to go pick up the Canam with all of the parts taken apart because the warranty only covered to take it apart and not to put the parts back yet we were never told that so we had to pay out of pocket when they said that warranty wasn’t going to cover anything so they lied to us. A lot of parts were missing when my husband picked it up and Rick said he wasn’t going to be responsible, another employee (Dirk) had to step up and held himself responsible. Rick the service guy wasn’t of any help whatsoever yet I saw how he treated other customers and didn’t treat us the same way could’ve been a racial preference maybe since we are Mexican and not white maybe??? Save your time and money I regret not purchasing my Canam from another place. Just know that you lost a loyal customer and that I will file a complaint with the California Department of Consumers Affairs, California Bureau of Automotive Repair, and Better Business Bureau.
Gail was fantastic! Was honest and upfront about the details and was knowledgeable of the bike I was purchasing. Steve handed the paperwork portion painlessly. Great experience from start to finish. 100% recommend purchasing here.
Excellent buying experience with Gail. We looked for a Honda Africa Twin and they had one in their inventory. I offered a price, they called me back with acceptance, with no hassle and back and forth negotiation. The paperwork went smooth and fast. Gail, the salesperson was extremely nice, honest, accommodating and receptive to our requests. He called us to let us know there was a little scratch on the bike (honest). The showroom was nice and clean with great quality products. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent customer service from Powersports of Modesto. I bought one of my dream bmw sports bike. Thanks to the entire staffs who have made my purchases seamlessly and overall great experience. I came in with excitement and left the dealership smiling all the way home. It all started with a simple texting conversation with Steve a week ago. From making the deals all the way through getting all the paperwork ready within an hour all done by text. Came in the following week where Gail first greeted and has all the paperwork ready for me to go through, explaining them thoroughly, then went thru the functions of the bike. Afterwards Eric, the owner, personally came out and loaded up the bike, helped me strapped secured to the trailer, see through that I have everything before sending me off the road. Highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a bike. Although it is about 1.5 hrs drive for me from the Bay Area, but hands down it was well worth it. Also, don’t forget to check out their parts and accessories, wide selections on riders gears.

Bought my first motorcycle, and first new vehicle ever here a few weeks ago. Very impressed they would not sell me a bigger bike but, I told them I'd never rode before and Gail hooked me up with a awesome BMW 310R, jacket, gloves, etc... Going back here for everything now!
My visit to PowerSports of Modesto was disappointing. I initially went in to browse for a Triumph Speed Triple 765RS, but within minutes of arriving, I was approached by a *Senior* salesman. While he seemed friendly at first, the interaction quickly turned unhelpful. Instead of providing clear information about the availability of the bike I was interested in, I was shown a high-priced BMW adventure bike costing $29,000, which I had no interest in. The sales tactics felt more like upselling than genuine assistance. When I asked if they had any Speed Triples on the floor, I was curtly told "no," despite my clear communication of my budget and preferences.
Additionally, I was shown a BMW R12 Nine T, which I also wasn’t interested in. Throughout the visit, I felt that my needs and interests were not being genuinely listened to, and the focus was more on pushing other bikes that didn’t match what I was looking for. The experience was brief—about 5-10 minutes—and left me feeling that my time wasn’t valued. It’s unfortunate because I believe a more customer-centric approach, with honest communication and listening, would make a big difference. Given this experience, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. I hope the dealership reflects on this and considers more genuine, helpful customer service in the future.
Came here to buy a used Harley that they had up on their website. Met Gail one of their sales guys got me on a test ride even thought it was getting dark. Feel in love with the bike, did everything he could to get me financed, got me a loan and a happy ending. Also got introduced to the owner of the dealership great group of guys, will definitely be back, would suggest to anyone with their great inventory.

I'm very picky about my purchases. I studied my options carefully before deciding on a new Triumph. I was able to get in and make my order with no trouble. The bike arrived from the warehouse and I completed my purchase a few days later. I remarked that I expected a markup of some kind on such a desirable model but Dirk told me that is not Cycle Specialties policy. Overall I was thoroughly impressed. Better than previous experiences with Honda and Harley Davidson. I am sure my next motorcycle will come from the same dealer.
Update: Have since returned and bought my second motorcycle here. When the time comes I will make it 3.
First I'll start off with I love BMWs and BMW makes fine machines and the bike I purchased is an incredible machine. As far as dealerships go this one stinks, first off they have some questionable practices when working with lenders and putting false numbers on the credit application which jacks up interest rate and lied when asked about this, but to be honest I wasn't super concerned about my interest rate because I purchased the bike to build some credit and higher rate paid fast is good for credit building. I paid off half of the loan the next day and will make triple payments, its ok. I purchased a bike with a bit over a thousand miles on it and my first ride I had bolts falling off and a chain that was out of specification right after having left the dealership, they were kind enough enough to replace the bolts since I have a warranty on my bike so decided I would buy some peripherals. I purchased the BMW phone cradle and I asked multiple times before leaving if they guarantee that my phone would not fall out of the Cradle while riding but sure enough on the first ride with this cradle my $1,200 Galaxy S24 Ultra fell right out after hitting a bump on the highway. I talked to the staff about this incident and they were so kind to offer a $500 store credit for all the inconvenience and phone issue, meanwhile I'm down hours having to go back and forth to the shop and sitting around for problems/parts/repair right off the bat and a 1200 phone, thanks for the offer... I would probably not have taken any offer considering I have phone insurance and more focused on customer experience rather than money since i had just purchased an almost 20k bike, but figured I would see how dealer would handle such situation. Would recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking to purchase a bike anytime soon, far superior options available. Eager to see the excuses they make in response just like all the other passive aggressive responses for bad reviews on their page.
I have been looking for several months for a 2024 Street Triple RS in Cosmic Yellow and called about 5 dealerships around the bay area. By far the best experience I had was with Junior at Triumph Modesto. Junior worked tirelessly with me as I changed my mind multiple times on what I wanted and how I wanted to structure the deal. He was always positive and willing to help and even though I would be annoyed with myself, he ALWAYS kept it professional. Junior not only provide consistent excellent customer service, but also has the best price as far as Triumph's go. Will come back here again for next bike and highly recommend to anyone in the bay area. My experience was so good that I drove from Sunnyvale to Modesto to look at the bike and negotiate.
The team at Powersports of Modesto (formally Cycle Specialties) are fantastic from beginning to end. I’ve entrusted their service dept with multiple bikes, and just purchased a ‘24 Triumph Street Triple Special Edition Moto 2. They carry a relevant selection (ie all the sought out models) and they’re in the business of selling bikes, not sitting on them! Justin negotiated with me for weeks, and never did he make me feel like just another number.
If you’re truly in the market for a new toy, this is the shop to visit!

I was so happy I found these guys. I came in for some new tires and I tell ya. Everyone treated me like I was an old customer (except telling me where stuff was...coffee) Rick, in service was super nice, friendly & helpful. I even got a loaner bike, wow. I first stopped by here in December 2018 to take a look at the K1600B after test driving it at the Long Beach motorcycle show. They happened to have a K1600B Grand America demo bike. We took it for a drive and were very impressed. I'm not an impulse buyer so out buying a new bike on hold. Eight months later I was looking online and found one in Long Beach BMW discounted substantially. I called Tom at Cycle Specialties and he said "you're not going to have to go to Long Beach to buy that bike, you're buying ours." He offered me a better deal so I bought it in August. I really can't say enough good things about my experience here. I didn't ever feel pressured which is probably why I bought from them. Tom is knowledgeable about BMW motorcycles which helped since this is my first one. Thank you very much.
