I was extremely pleased with the service I received!! I needed my car checked for a possible gas leak and as a widow was fearful of being taken advantage of by automotive repair shops. One start auto was recommended to me and did a outstanding job and were extremely ethical and honest. I highly recommend them!!

Update 6 years later: John kept my KIA on the road for a whopping 398k miles. They maintained her from the moment she was purchased with 12 miles. This shop and mechanics are honest, fair priced, and a blessing! Thank you. No worries, there is a new car to look after every month as I continue to rack up the miles.

They just don’t make them like John! Let me tell you, I’ve taken my car to 2 different places. Both with years of experience. NONE of them fixed the problem. They both made it worse. I heard of One start auto and decided to give it a try. I felt like family right when I walked in. John was very honest with me which is what I wanted. If you are old enough, you remember the days when, by and large, businessmen, mechanics included, were forthright, honest & hardworking, intent in providing the best service possible. In this current economy, where even the most diligent are barely scraping by, many businesses have developed a SOP in which they strive for the highest dollar profit for the lowest output acceptable.
This business, One Start Auto, is run using the old standard. The owner, John (aka Grease Monkey), has focused his career on the auto repair trade, and is highly skilled and knowledgeable. His experience goes way back, back to his boyhood years spent under a hood, alongside his father, in this same location. He learned the importance of honesty and integrity coupled with quality workmanship, and he stands unwavering for those ideals.
On multiple occasions in these past ten years that I have patronized his repair shop, I have come in with what could have been a very profitable job for him while a costly service for me. Yet after purviewing the situation, John often offered a solution, more sensible & much more affordable, rather than accepting the high dollar payout the standard service would bring. The work, once completed, has been and always is done with excellence! This is the integrity to which I refer!

Excellent customer service! I was stranded an hour away from home and John got my truck running the same day so that I could go home. He did not give up until he found out what was causing the problem. Highly recommend One Start Auto Service!
I have been using One Start for all my automotive needs for years and at one point even brought one of my vintage gas tractors to them as well. Always fair and do a great job, would have anyone else.
I’m convinced One Start Auto Service must be a non-profit organization in disguise as a common business. One job in particular he did for me, he tracked down a drain on my trucks battery until he found the problem UNDER THE PASSENGER FLOORBOARD, where a wire had rubbed against the head of a screw until it was shorting. And that isn’t all, he had his man Moses custom fabricate a glow plug harness for my 91’ f-350, which are only available for purchase online at prices STARTING at $500. So after all the hours scouring the vehicle for drains on the battery, and the brand new custom glow plug harness, he charged me $300-something. I can’t recommend them strongly enough. If you’re tired of dealing with shifty mechanics, then pay John a visit at One Start Auto

John and Jarvin are both very professional. I have taken every car I own to John for the last 13 years and he has always been fair and honest with me. He will never try to up-sell you, always lets you know what needs to be fixed right away and what can wait. I highly recommend One Start Auto.

One stop is the place to go if you need automotive repair in the Turlock or Denair area very knowledgeable customer-friendly and answered every one of my questions and wasn't in a hurry to get off the phone with me wish I could remember the guy's name that helped me but I believe he's the owner and hands down thank you for customer service
I am single, female and don't speak "auto mechanic". Prior experiences with mechanics left me wondering if they were telling me the truth of preying on my obvious lack of knowledge. Then I got lucky and left my car in the hands of Johnny and Jarvin at One Start Auto Service. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are friendly, kind, HONEST and above all, great mechanics. Johnny called several times throughout the process, just to let me know their progress and explain things in detail. He was happy to show me all the work they had done while explaining it in plain English! I felt as if they were good friends by the time my car was finished. I had purchased new brake pads and rotors for my car. Needed to get them changed badly. I didn't have time to do it myself. So I brought my car to John. They did a great job with proper installation and at a fair price! Will continue going here for future services.

Starters I don't do reviews very often specially 5 stars. Being a diy type of mechanic myself I needed the AC done on my Camry due to some "issues" another shop caused. Owner is a down to earth your neighbor type of guy that speaks the truth and is honest. Needed the AC evacuated and recharged. Did it in reasonable amount of time and at an amazing price. Also replaced the cap on the low side valve. Will definitely be bringing the car back for some other services that are out of my reach.
