I would like to thank FORTES bros and especially Mr. George Padilla for quickly resolving my auto issue and providing excellent service. Definitely recommend.
I was parked in an unfamiliar area of Sunnyvale when the 12-volt battery of my car died, leaving me stranded. I called AAA to ask for a tow truck per the car dealer's instructions and prepared to wait. A super-friendly guy from Fortes (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name!) drove up and said there was a long wait for a tow truck, and he thought he would see if he could help. Sure enough, he was able to get my car started so I could drive to the dealership myself. He was also prepared to replace the battery for me, but mine was under warranty, and I opted to go to the dealer. He was thorough, explained everything to me, and made me feel at ease (I was feeling pretty grumpy) with his cheerful personality. My experience with Fortes was excellent.
These guys have saved me soooo many times! This weekend it was George who helped me out SUPER quickly with my battery. I think I spent more time explaining what happened than he did actually getting me going!!! WOW! Thank you George!
AAA - keep using Fortes Bros!
One of their tow trucks left a really bad impression on me the other day, and I would not recommend anyone to get their service.
Facts:
The other day a trailer truck from them parked at a position coming out of a T shaped parking lot connected to road. The head of their truck blocked the entire road, despite that there was plenty of space behind the truck. Me and another car on the other side were both waiting, yet the truck driver was just sitting in the truck and ignoring us. I even had eye contact with the truck driver a few times but dude just doesn’t care.
Five minutes later the truck driver finally decided to move the truck. It only took him 5 seconds to reverse in and unblock the road.
When the other car waiting was passing the truck, they honked at the truck driver for warning, then the truck driver honked back as if they did nothing wrong.
My impression of this business:
They are a shameless team with low morale and no care for other people. They clearly think they are above and more important than everyone else. Business can pretend to be nice and responsible, but they tend to show their true colour when they don’t need to take money from you.
(My dashcam captured a clear photo of the truck driver’s face, but I won’t post it here. Hopefully they will see this post and learn to be a better person.)
My daughter had her first car and needed to just get it smog checked to finalize registration -- she came in and said my car is gone, we found out Fortes had taken it and wanted $2,000 to give it back: my daughter watches cats for $ and doesn't have $2,000. Fortes couldn't care less, said come back Monday if you have the money but it will be $2,600. Then she said fine, I can't pay, and then they told her she will still owe a lien for $1,000 even if she gives up the car. I've no idea what business that are running at Fortes but they are clearly getting every last $ they can.
My car cannot start and ran out of gas/battery. This was my first time using AAA roadside assistance. The technician was an absolute lifesaver and showed up within 30 minutes during rush hours. After filling the gas tank, my car came back to life. Really appreciate it.
This was my first time using AAA roadside assistance. I was locked out of my car with a completely dead battery. It was a busy night and there was a bit of a wait - but Antonio was an absolute lifesaver. Got the car unlocked, tested the battery to find that it was done, and did a full battery replacement on site super fast!! Price was super reasonable. Would recommend 10/10
I received absolutely fantastic service from Antonio Chavez!!!! My car battery was having issues and he went above and beyond to make sure the issue was resolved. He explained everything to me and how to read the tests he was performing on it. I wish more people were as reputable as Antonio and Fortes! Great job team
Antonio came out to help us tonight. Although we didn’t end up getting the battery w/ AAA, I still appreciate his customer service. Very professional, approachable, friendly, quick, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, straightforward, patient, respectful and positive. He was also funny & relatable. I had my toddler with me and he asked how old he was. Antonio mentioned having a son just a year younger and it was nice that we got to connect that way and talk about our kids and what it’s like being new parents. Anyway, exceptional customer service can be rare these days. So I definitely want to give Antonio his kudos. Thank you for making our night! Stay humble as you are and continue to have your great attitude!
These guys came to my rescue when I desperately needed help getting my car to work. They sent a guy named Manny to help, and the guy was incredibly helpful and kind. I really can’t thank Manny enough for everything. I recommend these guys to anyone who needs quick assistance for vehicle problems.
I’m so glad I called AAA Emergency Road Service. George from Fortes Bros. was a huge lifesaver. I was driving on the 101 towards Mission College when I heard a mini explosion from the back of my car. At first, I thought it was a rock that had hit my car, but as I got closer to school and kept hitting the road reflectors, I realized the issue was probably with my tire. I’ve never had to call AAA, so I didn't know this service existed. Thankfully, I was paired with a driver to help troubleshoot the issue. When George, arrived he was eager to help and had the best attitude. In fact, it wasn't until I got home much later that I realized how stressful the event actually was, because of how George handled everything and made the process super easy and affirming. He even checked the tire to see what the issue was and educated me on when tires need to be replaced. For example, if the tread is still in good condition and the hole is in the middle rather than on the sides, it can still be patched up. He also recommended a nearby auto shop and called them for me to get a quote. My data wasn't working either, so he provided me with pretty solid directions and even reemphasized how I would know that I was at the right location. I think George went above and beyond, and not only a super valuable employee, but a pretty model individual in my opinion. Thanks, George! You’re awesome!
I just witnessed one of your drivers drop (hard) a car he stole & was towing into a bike lane/no parking zone on West Julian in San Jose and then speed off. SHADY!!! The owner of the car caught up to the car & confirmed the tow truck picked up this broken down car. The owner went to O’Reilly to buy stuff to fix ithe cat, came out & the car was gone. You people are evil!! Stay away ftom this company!
I had accidentally locked our family out of a rental car while visiting the Bay Area. Fortes Bros was our provider through AAA Roadside. Henry was very prompt. He called me on the way over, and then checked with me again when he was closer to our car’s location. He was able to get the door open in a very reasonable time, and he helped us figure out how to get access from the interior of the vehicle to the trunk area to retrieve where the key fob had been lost. This was probably the fastest response and resolution through AAA Roadside I’ve experienced after multiple decades of being a member. Thanks Henry!
Let me preface this review on Fortes Bros Inc Emergency by saying, a lot of roadside towing services have bad names because people got taken advantage of when they find themselves down & out, and then be taken for a ride makes us have that helpless feelings.
Well, I found myself in a situation like that yesterday about ~1pm. My car is less than 5 years old and have only ~20,500 miles on the odometer; then all of a sudden, the car wouldn't start. I heard the click! Click! sounds, but the car just wouldn't start. I thought, Oh Boy, did I leave some lights on overnight, since the battery should have still been in pretty good conditions, I called my friend to give me a jump, no luck - same click! click! sounds but no firing
I then took out my phone and opened my AAA app, and made a tow service call. The lady who answered, she told me it may take an hour & a half‼‼ I thought you were offering EMERGENCY Roadside service, but what can I do, I thought it was going to be a very long day.
Within 10 minutes, my phone rang, and the guy said, I'd be there in 5 minutes. WOW‼‼ When the tow truck pulled up, it was a very familiar bright yellow Fortes truck, they had repaired my previous car after a car accident, and that experience was amazing!
Brett was the dude, despite having to see his girlfriend at ER later that day, he took the time to run some diagnostics test, and told me that your battery was fully charged, it's just the amperage was way too low to get the car started. He first used a super powerful portable charger to get my car started, but he said probably due to a bad cell in the battery, if I start driving , I may still have the same issues since driving wouldn't fix the cause. He even told me, you can drive to Costco and get a replacement battery, and do it myself to save some money. I was in no state of mind to drive to Costco - what if the car dies again after I get a battery. I said can you just change it on the spot for me? He told me, sure! He did it so expertly and within 10 minutes I was on my way!
I called Fortes Bros and asked for the boss, but they had already left. BOSS, if you see this review, please give Brett a huge pay raise, it's guys like Brett that will change the views on towing services, he's knowledgeable, understanding, and without him, this car troubles could have been lingered into today or longer.
Quick and easy! George was excellent. He walked me through everything he was doing while changing my car battery. I highly recommend this place not only for the quick turnaround but also for the awesome customer service!

Fortes Bros service is very friendly, timely and professional. I had issues with my battery that was installed about a year ago that I purchased thru AAA. The battery failed and this company went above and beyond to correct my issue with no hassle. I bought another battery through my mechanic and my car is doing great again. Jonathan came for my AAA roadside service when my car wouldn’t start. He diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced and replaced it on the spot. All in all we were done in less than 15 min on a Sunday evening! Amazing service!
It’s my first time use my AAA roadside assistance last night at 11pm when I get off work my car died. My coworker helped me jumped but it doesn’t work. So I called AAA roadside assistance, Fortes towing and repair service company come less then 30 minutes. Alejandro show up. I took him to the hotel garage where my car is. Immediately he found out the battery was loose. He helps me tighten up the battery, check if my battery is still in good condition. He charged the battery then start and stop couple times make sure it works so I can drive home safely. He really went above and beyond the service. He always very friendly person. So happy bumped into such a friendly expert person whom tells me not to worry, he will fix the problem for me up on his arrival. I work as customer service for 30 year. I do recognize a good service. Thank you Alejandro for your great service last night.
AAA sent out Manny from Fortes Bros to get my car to the mechanic’s after a flat tire. Not only was he super efficient and professional, but gave me advice about which shop to go to, what to expect with my tires, and fun to talk to on the ride over. Great experience in an otherwise unfortunate situation.
Yesterday I was lucky to have one of the guys from Fortes Bros help me with a tire change. I've never seen anyone change a tire so quickly, and with a smile on his face. Super friendly guy, and got my car sorted out in no time flat. Thanks!

AAA sent me help when my battery died. Fortes Bros is who I was lucky enough to get. The drive George arrived 30 minutes faster than expected. He arrived with a big smile and fantastic customer service. He was quick and to the point and easy to strike a conversation with during the whole process. On a scale of 1-10 I give home an easy 15. I had an over heating problem with my 2006 Buick Lucerne. Paul was the driver who flatbedded my car back to my house. Paul was great and did a fantastic job. Super professional, polite and helpful. I had a fantastic experience with Fortes Brothers Emergency Roadside Services in South San Francisco. My roadside assistance tech, Christopher, came out in a hurry to jump-start my Toyota 4Runner so I could get my father home after his surgery at Kaiser.
I was incredibly stressed, juggling multiple things at once, and dealing with a car that wouldn’t start. Chris went above and beyond to get to my location quickly, which made a huge difference in a tough situation. Fortunately, my battery was in good shape—I had just left my lights on—but if I had needed a replacement, he was ready to take care of it on the spot.
I requested service through the AAA app, which can be a little glitchy at times, but after a second attempt, I was connected with Chris and the Fortes team. They got me back on the road in record time.
I truly appreciate their fast, professional, and compassionate service. Highly recommend!

one of your drivers was completely blocking a crosswalk in SF while helping a motorist. i asked him to move and he very kindly did, allowing people to safely cross the road on a dark and rainy night. i was pretty impressed!
I've always had great experiences with their roadside emergency services. Most recently, Joseph in San Francisco was incredible! He was there quickly, was extremely kind and knowledgeable, and he saved the day for me by repairing my flat tire on the roadside. Good as new, see the before-and-after photos. I'm forever grateful!
I had a flat tire and had to pull over to the side of the freeway. I called Fortes and the receptionist answered the phone right away and took all of my information pertaining to where I was stranded and told me that a town truck would be in my area in about 20 minutes. Within 20 minutes a tow truck showed up and the driver was a super nice guy and he asked me where I wanted the car towed. I told him and he towed my car and we had a nice chat while driving to the service station. My car got dropped off, I paid the driver and I was good to go! Within an hour of my flat tire, Fortes came and picked up my car and had it dropped off! Superior service!! Thanks again Fortes!!! Hopefully I won't need a reason to have any of my cars towed in the future, but if I do, you'll be the tow company I will be calling without a doubt!!
Our van’s tire blew out on the freeway. We were able to tow it back home. Then I called AAA on the weekend to tow it to a service center to have the tire replaced. They dispatched this guy from Fortes. After he loaded the van, I just asked him what’s the address of the service center? He gave me the attitude right away and even told he knew what he was doing. I was like… HUH?!??!? I need to know where he’s taking my van so I can drive there.
Definitely lacks customer service. And seems like their default stance I guess is be defensive and arrogant.
