Absolutely terrible experience at this landfill. My trucks were left waiting for hours just to dump up a load, and no one seemed to care. There was zero organization—no clear line, no instructions, and no one directing traffic. Drivers were sitting in their cabs burning fuel while workers stood around, looked at the trucks, and said nothing. A few of them were just on their phones, leaning against equipment, completely ignoring the line that was backing up. The management is clearly inconsistent. One worker says to wait in one spot, another comes later and says something completely different. There’s no communication, no accountability, and no sense of urgency at all. It feels like every truck is just left there until someone randomly decides to help. The conditions are just as bad. The smell is unbearable even by landfill standards, trash is scattered everywhere, and the whole place looks poorly maintained. Potholes, mud, and debris make it hard to even maneuver safely. For a major Bay Area facility, this place is an absolute embarrassment. Hours wasted, fuel wasted, and zero professionalism from the staff. Completely unacceptable and a disgrace to the Bay Area. Something seriously needs to change here.
Wasn't too busy when I got there, check-in on scale. Provide information and docks are on the opposite side of the building, decent amount of space to maneuver your trailer to the dock
Usually a fairly quick and easy process (though absolutely not worth the cost if you're not within the service area that receives free passes) - no weight, just a quick check to ensure you're not bringing in any prohibited items.
While I've used this facility previously on a Saturday, today I was surprised to find the entry gate barred early (seemingly a common practice, given a few other reviews mentioning it).
To Republic Services - Covid is no longer an excuse in 2025. If this facility is not open until 4PM (or hell, no longer open on the weekends at all), that's fine - as long as the listed hours are ACCURATE. This has apparently been an issue for half a decade, which is astounding in this day and age.
(Based on past experiences, I expect - at most - this review to receive a hands-up-in-the-air apology from a team unable to change any of this, and my submission suggesting a correction to the hours of operation to be rejected without comment, despite being clearly incorrect. I would love to be proven wrong, and will happily revise my review upwards if that should happen.)
Dangerously disgusting and an insult to the Bay Area! Smell is so bad, it goes on for miles and miles! I don't even live around there but this is so unacceptable. Evil company, disgusting malpractices. So sorry for the people who live in Milpitas; you deserve so much better!
If I could give negative stars, I would! We requested free passes for landfill from Republic services over the phone, they came in the mail. After which I contacted them to confirm if I could bring a truckload using these passes, and I was told yes. When I come to the facility with our rented truck, this lady by the name, Alicia does some inaccurate measurements of the truck and tells me that I have 25 yards of items in there, which was totally inaccurate. I explained to her that a lot of them are empty boxes for recycling which when they are flattened out won’t take up much space it’s just that we were in a rush to get them here, after about 15 to 20 minutes of going in circles with her, zero cooperation on her part, we ended up paying close to $1000 out-of-pocket, absolutely absurd ! She knew we had no other choice because we rented a moving company and brought the items here, and she took total advantage of that. Very disappointing and what a rip off!
Dumpster still not delivered after 2wks and countless hours on the phone with customer service.
Customer service representative name Malososo Loane has me signed document to setup my account with all the correct information. However, the service site address was setup incorrectly on the internal system. This led to the dumpster being delivered to my house rather than our business address! We need the dumpster at our business address!
I have been on the phone numerous times with customer service since, and was basically given wrong information regarding the delivery of the dumpster numerous times.
I received an email 2 days ago, telling me that the dumpster was going to be delivered yesterday. It never showed up!
I placed a call today to follow up, Malososo told me today that the truck was on the way with the dumpster, and it is 5 stops away. Guess what, the dumpster did NOT get delivered today!
I am not sure what to do at this point to get the dumpster delivered. Terrible customer service, but we do not have another choice here. If someone can help reach out and escalate this, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Extremely high prices extremely long time to get in and out extremely bad signage and directions. horrible drop off experience with mud and trucks and just a huge mess. Absolutely don’t recommend this place. This place sucks. They charged me $100 to drop off three particleboard cabinets. I will absolutely never be back and I hope my review turns more people away because this place deserves it
They eye ball your trash and over charge every time, they always have worst attitude and lines are get ridiculously long, if you can go elsewhere, they’ll even tell you that is better to go else where!!! Effe this place
Called every number you can find for them from 7am to 1pm and there is still no answer from any extension. Literally. Absolutely ridiculous. If I could give them zero stars I would.
We went in to the site and a security guard lady met us and we shared our voucher and she seemed like she didn't know what she was doing.She let us in with no issue. There was no one there but we heard music in the bac and some other folks dropping off their items. When we came out the lady security was waiting with a camera and recording us as of we did something incorrectly. She said we didn't pay. We said we had a voucher, as we had shared with her earlier. My husband provided the voucher again for her to see. She took a photo of it. I started to record a video recording of the the interaction myself as it was so uncomfortable. She made us feel like criminals but we did nothing without her permission.
For my job, I traveled the entire country and I am in charge of disposing of concrete from our projects, and in my five years of doing this, this landfill has got to be the worst. Poor communication told that if my load was less than 50% concrete I had to dump in trash said OK and obliged Now they have me dumping loads of concrete that are 80+ percent concrete and are charging me trash prices which are more than double, wouldn’t recommend this landfill to our competitors.
The employee working the phone stole my credit card and used it for thousand of dollar of charges. The day after I closed my account, he asked for my credit card info to pay off final balance. This business credit card has only been used at Costco and another store for 2 years with no issues. The only time my credit card number was given out was to republic services. The day after it was spent on thousand of dollars of fraud transaction online.

We had to dump our broken bed spring and computer monitor, we first visited this drop off at Dixon landing road and they charged us a whopping $80 + $35 in total. We suspected a foul play and drove to our usual, the drop off at alameda county where they took it for free.
Please do not visit this place for dumping. They could scam you.
Hi, I can't find any place other to ask this question, so I hope this is okay. Is this a good place to bring my toddler who loves garbage trucks? Not sure how much is open to the public and what we can expect when visiting. For example, is the public able to see excavators moving trash around? Are there lots of garbage trucks going in and out? Please help a mama who is trying to make her son's 2nd birthday the best ever! Thank you <3
Edit: So I brought my toddler to visit the landfill on his birthday! We weren’t allowed to go inside the recycling facility (understandable, given the equipment and machinery in there), but we did park in the visitor center and stand by the sign. We watched an endless parade of garbage trucks, dump trucks, and all kinds of dusty, mighty machines file in and out! It was amazing. My toddler was awestruck the entire time. We had the best time ever! And the people there were so nice! Thank you so much for making his day!!!
Spent one hour here, walking quite close to the landfill site. I was expecting strong smell but didn't smell much, except the two chimneys when nearby. Many flowers and birds.
2 Truck docks on the back side at the end of building. If the axle weight is over have to come back again from the scales and back into those tight docks. Tight for 53ft trailers.

Showed up on Saturday at 145. Everywhere says they close at 4pm. Waited on the scale. No one came. So I slowly made my way, when a guy came in a truck yelling at me that they closed at 130 at that I went around the weight station.
Terrible experience. Loaded up truck and trailer to help a senior friend dump some debris on a Saturday. Google website, Republic “ “customer service” number and sign out front all said they were open til 4pm Monday-Saturday. Arrived to find nobody at the wide open gates. Sat there for about 30 minutes until a guy came down in a truck and said they close at 2pm every day now due to COVID-19. Thanks for letting your customers know, Republic. We were stuck with a load of junk and nothing to do with it. Such an inconvenience and waste of time. And I see it’s STILL not updated. So unprofessional and downright rude!
Loaded up my truck for a trip to the landfill. Website and phone service say they're open til 4 PM Saturday, they were closed before 3 PM. Bonus: they don't even close the gate or post anywhere at the weigh station that they're closed, but rest assured someone will eventually kick you out.
I hope I have give negative -100 star. This is by far the worst nightmare for all Milpitas and San Jose residents. The horrible smell can spread dozens of miles, especially during hot seasons. The San Jose Government should really get rid of it for the sake of public health!!
Total 100% grade A rip- off. I had one cargo van full of insulation that could be compacted easily yet they wanted to charge me well over 200 dollars, yes $200.00 to dump some insulation.I will never ever even think of going back there. I was able to rent a vehicle and haul the loads to sacramento...3 plus hours away for 1/2 price. Just unbelievable.
