Unexpectedly needed to replace the battery in my car this past weekend. The first person I spoke to when I entered the store was Roberto, and he immediately jumped into the steps it would take to help me out. He said that I was lucky because he was supposed to leave an hour earlier and that there were extra set of hangs to help that evening.
The only annoying part was that my car was parked upstairs, after meticulously going through a tiny passage into the garage, and he told me to bring it back down to the street level, where there was absolutely no parking. I ended up situating in front of the blue space reserved for disabled drivers, thankfully no one needed to pull into it during the time it took Roberto to replace my battery.
He was quick as it looked like this was the three thousandth time he had done this that day. He was also thorough, as he had performed a courtesy check on my alternator, which turned out okay.
The only negative thing was having to bring down my car back down to the street level, as it seemed there was plenty of room in the upstairs garage to perform the battery change. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars!Feb 04, 2026 -
Got tire repair kit. They have free parking on site. Nice people work there. Recommended

I removed the battery from my son’s car and brought it in to O’Reilly, after trying and failing to recharge it. I asked the clerk to check it but I assumed it was dead. The battery was at 8 volts and the clerk said he’d need to charge it in order to test it and I should come back in an hour. I returned later, sure that I would need to buy a new battery, and the clerk said the battery was fine and handed me the recharged battery. I was staggered that they didn’t try to sell me a battery and I’ll be loyal to O’Reilly’s going forward.

I had some issues starting my car and figured something was wrong with my battery. I took my car to Oreily for a battery check and Henry was extremely helpful. I got home from work really late so I did go in nearing closing time just to see if they were able to accommodate me, and I was expecting that it was too late in the day. Henry was the one who took the time to check out my battery and fixed something that was placed incorrectly. Thanks so much for the above and beyond customer service!
I went again several days later and Nicholas helped us out. He was very nice and helpful as well.
Thank you Oreillys for all your assistance!Jan 11, 2026 -
Thanks so much to the manager at the Geary store (I believe his name is Sean). Gave me quick and efficient service in guiding me to and finding the correct light bulb for my Prius high beam headlight. He quickly resolved my confusion re which bulb fit the high beam and which fit the low beam. Sold me the correct bulb which I brought home and installed - problem solved and a very happy ending. Could not have asked for better service! Al

I tried to buy a serpentine belt here. My a/c compressor pulley broke, so I wanted to take it out of the loop. I measured the dimensions for the new pulley and called this O'Reilly's to see if they have the correct size. The guy I talked to didn't know how to search for a belt size and didn't seem to comprehend what I was talking about. He became upset due to his own incompetence. He transferred me to who I think was the manager, who also couldn't figure out how to search for a belt size. He told me, "That's the problem with modifying your vehicle." Not only were the employees at this store incompetent at their jobs, when asked to complete a simple task, they became upset. I understand that these chain stores are hiring random people these days, but to get upset at a potential customer for simply asking for a part is obviously a poor business model. I called NAPA later and had no trouble getting the right belt size.

All the employees made my numerous visits helpful and pleasant. Shawn the manager made everything right. I know I can't count on him and this O'Reilly's team to take care of me when I visit, and Bravo Nick!

Roberto did some research and found the right part for me. Sean had plenty of diy knowledge to lend. Henry helped with logistics and had the handoff on time

I went to this place and received the best and quick service. They put the hubcap on for me right away. My young son was running around and overstimulated due to being tired and they were patient and understanding. This will definitely be my go to place for auto stuff.

This place is ok. They have the usual car accessories ie wiper blades and various liquids that cars need. The staff are super helpful and nice.

I can't praise the guys that helped me at this O'Reilly's enough. Henry listened carefully to me as I explained my a/c issue and explained what product to use and why and also told me about the great deal on wiper blades which he quickly installed for me. (There were no other customers.) He also gave me the name of his mechanic, and Marcelo gave me the name of a body shop!
Henry also encouraged me to get a timing belt change which is overdue, but I had forgotten about it. These guys were respectful, kind, patient, and super helpful, true professionals. I'm looking forward to going back and learning more about maintaining my car.May 27, 2025 -
They were very helpful with answering all of my questions and selecting the correct snow cables for my car.

Much better than the one in SOMA. Well stocked. They even teach me how to stall my low beam light bulb properly with water proof grease and a glove.

I had an amazing experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts on Geary in San Francisco! A couple of weeks ago, I was visiting the city for work when I ended up with a screw in my tire. A friend recommended I use a tire patch kit, so we called O'Reilly's ahead since they were closing in 10 minutes. The employee who answered confirmed they had the kit and were still open, so we quickly took an Uber over.
When we arrived, the two employees on duty were incredibly helpful. They not only showed me how to use the tire patch kit but also gave me some really useful tips. I was even about to buy pliers when they explained I'd need them to carefully remove the screw from my tire.
Then came the best part--one of the employees, Keo, went above and beyond. He mentioned he was closing up soon and offered to drive us back to my car to help patch the tire--saving us another Uber ride! We waited outside while he locked up, and true to his word, he drove us over and even helped me patch my tire using the kit I had just purchased.
Keo and the entire team at this location were so kind and generous with their time. If it weren't for Keo, I would have spent way more time struggling with the repair. His willingness to help truly made a stressful situation so much easier, and I'm incredibly grateful.
It's rare to come across people as kind and selfless as Keo. He went out of his way to help a complete stranger, and that kind of generosity is something you don't see every day. I highly recommend this O'Reilly's! The employees here genuinely care about their customers, and their kindness made all the difference. Thanks again to Keo!Feb 20, 2025 -
Keo and staff were awesome and even helped me change a fuse to get my brake light working. Probably saved me a bundle! Thanks Keo!

Went to this location two times with the intent to purchase a car battery with the included complimentary install.
The manager, Shawn, asked what I needed and I stated a battery with the install. He first said that "they didn't have enough coverage". I explained that I came in the day prior and was told to return during prime daytime hours (hence me being there Tuesday at 11:45 am). I asked when would be a good time for me to return? Shawn interrupted me and asked me what type of car I had and proceeded to state that my battery was difficult to change. I shared that I've never been told that before and have always gotten it changed at Auto Zone or O'Reilly's since 2013. He responded with "really?". Shawn went to the back to chat with another employee and returned and told me they could do it the following day.
O'Reilly's - what's up with having incompetent managers who lack an understanding of basic car maintenance and who offer selective service to customers. I won't be returning to this O'Reilly's that is managed by someone who doesn't even know how to change a car battery. Do better.Sep 17, 2024 -
Norman the supervisor or manager who works at the store didn’t just sell me what I need . He even design the make shift solutions to temporary fix my Broken coolant line. I eventually was able to drive back to east bay instead of stranded in Sf over the weekend. Thank you so much Norman.

For the most part, I've had nothing bad to say about O'Reilly's. The folks at my local store have always been helpful with my needs. The thing I don't like is when they don't have common things like ball joints or shocks in stock. They have to either order or transfer from another store and I'm sitting around not being productive.

Told me my brand new car battery was dead. I wasted all afternoon trying to get it fixed on a Sunday when everything was closed. Only to realize in the end there was nothing wrong with my battery. So much for having a relaxing weekend. Almost left it at the dealer which would have cost me hundreds of dollars and hours of time getting home and back.

Total richards and said i cant work on my van in their parking lot because i live in it while they came and helped other customers fix their cars and i was just performing a much needed tuneup on a 55yr old van like my Father taught me to do when you buy any used vehicle. I spent $600 there and they called the police even though i was done and leaving. Thanks for insulting and belittling me in front of the entire store and employees when i was playing nice and packing up and leaving mr. O'Riley jr. Manager...

The parking garage is awesome! That's the only part I really saw while my friend ran in and bought a new battery to replace the one that died on him. He also dropped off a dead motorcycle battery for me.

I got there about 5 minutes to closing one night and was in need of transmission fluid and I got one young male associate he told me what I needed and I asked if he could show me the exact one and he walked away from me so I was stuck not knowing which one and so I brought two up there and asked which one he said neither and walked away again. That was the worst customer service ever I will only got to Auto-zone.

This is the only auto part store in the area so if you need something look no further. The guys here are fairly knowledgeable and have helped me out on numerous occasions. They will also run a diagnostic scan on your car free of charge along with services like testing your battery. If you having problems with your car don’t be shy to ask.

On the 3rd day of our five day family road trip driving up from Tustin CA, we stopped by to take pictures of the wondrous Golden Gate Bridge. Our very reliable 2011 Toyota Sienna van suddenly broke down and had a problem starting up-it seemed like a battery issue. Since we bought the battery at O’Reilly, we were able to get it jump-started and limped there to get it checked out. Upon arriving at O’Reilly, our van completely died and would not start.
O’Reilly Manager Sean brought out a battery meter to check the condition of the battery, and found that our battery had been drained because the alternator gave out. With his help, he replaced our battery, got us a new alternator, and arranged to have to the alternator replaced at a local dependable trusted mechanic (a shout-out to Dennis at California Auto Repair-reasonable prices and professional!). We made the repair and were able to seamlessly and confidently continue with our family vacation road trip.
Without O’Reilly Manager Sean’s assistance, our road trip would’ve been a time-wasted, stressed-out, and expensive disaster getting our van repaired. Manager Sean, with his “no BS” attitude and professionalism went above and beyond helping out my family with our van troubles. I also knew his friendly, understanding and helpful character wasn’t a fluke, because as we were waiting inside the busy shop, I observed that he acknowledged and personally greeted every customer that walked in as if they were his close friends! Thanks again Manager Sean at O’Reilly!!!!Mar 22, 2023 -
If you shop here, avoid “Nick.” Today I called about windshield wipers. He immediately tried to upsell me. I asked if they could be installed when I bought them. He was waffle-y in his response. When I courteously asked for his name he hung up! I arrived at the store a few minutes later and he was the same person (same exact accent). After buying the wipers he tried to install them but kept having problems with installing them. The driver-side wiper didn’t lie flat against the glass. I asked him to remove both so that I could get other wipers. He said he couldn’t do that and mentioned needing tools. (What?! He didn’t need tools to put them on…)
Nick said that wipers need to be replaced every 6 months. Really??
I asked the assistant manager for another technician. Jacky volunteered. Fortunately Jacky didn’t need any special tools, just his hands and his wits, to put the original wipers back on.Dec 03, 2022 -
Service keeps getting better and better at both SF stores. Employees are generally knowledgeable and will assist customers to a fault. Occasionally understaffed to assist all unskilled in-store and on-phone customers with complex issues. Generally have all you would expect in a well-stocked store. What they don't have they can usually get within a day. They have a very generous tool-lending service and fairly reasonable prices. Also, convenient late and weekend hours.

Great customer service from every employee including the manager who will take time out to help a person get anything they need. Leevette thanks you.
