I called and went to the store after they told me to come down for a new battery. When I got there they told me they could not change the battery. I asked why they told me to come down and the person helping me did not know.

I have broken arm and because i asked to bad replacement of the battery. They denied to help me with tools and replce it.

I asked the guy in the auto parts store for the cheapest bulb for my car. In the end, he brought me one from the mid-price range. I didn’t feel like arguing with the seller, so I just bought it. I know for a fact that the cheapest one was in stock because I’d bought the exact same bulb for the other side before and I know where they keep them.
At checkout I gave my phone number as usual for their loyalty program. I’ve never once been able to actually use the “bonus points” that supposedly accumulate there, but spam texts and emails from them come constantly.
Six weeks later that mid-price bulb burns out. Because I was really busy at the time, I didn’t bother fighting about it — I just went and bought the cheapest one myself and fitted it. A couple of days later I came back to return the burned-out mid-price bulb that hadn’t even lasted two months (it should have a one-year warranty.
At first they said “sure, we can do the return using your phone number.” I gave them my number… and suddenly they “can’t find” that particular purchase in the system.
Every other purchase is visible: the battery, the bulbs I bought before and after, everything — but the exact bulb I want to return is mysteriously missing from their records. How convenient, right?
I decided to log into my online account and try to find the receipt myself. Turns out I couldn’t even reset the password — the password-recovery email never arrives. Spam from them gets through just fine, but the digital receipt and password-reset emails somehow don’t. These guys have it all figured out, don’t they?Dec 11, 2025 -

I am out of town and the alternator went out on the vehicle I was borrowing. I went to the San Carlos, CA location on El Camino. Eduardo was so helpful. He checked everything. He told me about a mechanic to get it done. I felt like Eduardo went over and above. If you get a chance go by and see if he can help you too!!!!!

I would like to obtain a new battery for my car. Lily assisted me and informed me that she would need to order it and call me when it arrives at the store. However, I waited a considerable time, and my mechanic also waited for me to have the battery replaced. Since she did not call, I am concerned about the store's responsiveness to its customers.
I'm uncertain if his name is Emmanuel, but I believe he is the store manager. He instructed his employee not to assist me with replacing my car battery. Emmanuel appeared disinterested and dissatisfied with his work.Apr 28, 2025 -
Saturday, September 28, 12:44 p.m. Every time I come, they serve me super well, but sometimes when there are other people like the ones who are here right now, including the manager, since I have found him on many occasions and he has terrible customer service, that's why I prefer to come at another time, not when that group of people is there.

The store usually has what I need, but there's selection of bulbs for your car is very limited. There seems to be a lot of empty spots where bulbs used to be.

I don't go very often but it's way more organized and quicker to get in and out than the other big names nearby (AutoZone, etc)

People that have no knowledge about cars work there, I was given the wrong parts, now my car is stuck and they told me oh just come back and we'll give you the right parts. Unbelievable they should be bringing me the correct parts now I don't have a car that I can drive cuz it's in the driveway with no oil wrong oil filter wrong air filter. I guess you get what you pay for

Only giving four stars because although the service was exceptional the part that was needed was not available in store as it had stated online that it was. I still ordered the part and I still got great service, but the part was not available in store.

Returned items that we did not need nor used today. The gentleman behind the counter displayed such professionalism in helping me with my transaction. Saw a brochure about accepting used motor oil and its filters.[ Didn't know you still did that]. He again was very knowledgeable about this service.

We had an issue with our headlights and the staff were very helpful in researching and talking us through our options (he didn't automatically try to sell us the most expensive). Also, when there was a question about whether the replacements we were about to purchase were the right ones, there was only a cheerful 'let me check again' and no negativity when he realized we had the wrong ones in hand. We were also told about the 1 year replacement warranty - great customer service!

This location is very organized, clean, and has amazing staff!! Erniel helped me with everything I needed, and explained everything to me. He was really attentive, helpful, and had amazing customer service skills. The staff here goes above and beyond to help their customers. If I ever need anything, I will definitely come to this location!!

Not good this time, went to Auto Zone, put in my light, no problem. O Reilly, didnt even try to put in. Said i could buy it there, why would I buy if you can't put in . Took Auto Zone less than 5 mins

Just went in for a break light and was having trouble figuring out which one to buy based on the information in the book. I walked to the front and immediately the staff here knew I needed help and was eager to help. The lady looked up my car info and found the correct light bulb. Thank you for your great service.

Needed windshield wipers. Pep Boys website said San Carlos location was open till 9pm. Went here at 8:05, CLOSED!
So O’Reilly’s to the rescue! They had a full and affordable at any price range for our needs.
Best part was they came out in the rain and helped put the new wipers on for us. Wonderful service. Clean and organized store. Will be switching Auto Stores.

Great service!Jonathan at the counter helped me to look for the right low beam headlight for my car. He even changed the bulbs for my car. Highly recommend the store and the knowledgeable, excellent service.

Nick (I think that's what his name was) was such a great person. I needed a small part for my daughters VW beetle and he not only researched it for me, but printed out the part and offered to order it too! Excellent customer service here (always)!! Thank you!

I had an excellent experience at this location. The operating hours are rather generous, so you'll still be able to find help during the later parts of the day. And you most certainly will find help; the staff here are incredible. On top of knowing their stuff, the two gentlemen who helped me out were very friendly--not to mention very understanding towards a maintenance noob like me. Probably one of the best customer experiences I have ever had, and I don't just mean when shopping for auto parts.

Staff here are cool. Saw one of the staffers working on a strut tower brace mod for his Mustang between helping customers. I like that people are comfortable doing minor fixes on their cars in the parking lot. Auto parts store should promote a DIY automotive culture.

They are amazing! My car battery was dead so I had to walk to the store and I planned to carry the battery back. I know, it's heavy; I don't know people in the area that could've helped. Tony and Nick gave me a ride back home to jump my car, bring it to the store and make sure I bought the correct battery. Nick even changed it for me! Like I said, Tony and Nick are amazing!

I go here for small parts for my 67 gm327. Good service, easy to return parts. Been going here for like a couple years now and the only time I go somewhere else is when they don't carry what im looking for.

Cheat my son by suggesting a part that did not worked. Would not let him return item that they said is the right one. Kevin the employee a rude person just hang up on. Best to buy auto parts from pep boys or more friendly reputable stores than these rip-off store.
