Seriously, take the drive to another dump (near Half Moon Bay) I save 2-3k per month by not going here and driving further.
These people don't want to help or do their job.
I showed up on a Thursday before the recycling gate was open to drop off some used motor oil. Their oil bin was full so I turned around and went home. When I called back the next morning the person on the phone said "I have no way of checking if it's full and i assume they empty it every day, so you should be fine if you show up in the next hour or two." I know they have radios to talk to the people in the weight station and out in the transfer station facility. They just don't want to bother checking.
The lean short african american guy working at the recycling drop off in the morning of October 21st 2023 need to be fired. He was aggressive and screaming at us for no reason other than he thought I was throwing thing in the wrong bin. He scared my wife and kid who were sitting in the car. This guy has mental problems, please take annote supervisors
Came to drop off small empty propane tanks. Told they don’t recycle that and that I should leave. Called them on the phone and they told me “ that was a mistake”. Not really sure what’s going on here
Self serve recyclable drop off area. Although there is an attendant there from time to time, don't count on it. Most drop off areas here are clearly labeled, so it's hard to go wrong. If you have more TOXIC materials, though, they do have pamphlets there with a number to call to book an appt. Located North side of Hwy 92 at Ralston exit.
Yes you can drop off waste and whatever else on Saturdays, super easy, well setup, wasn't busy at all, ignore reviews saying you can't, they don't know what they are talking about
Par for the course, as is any place around here. Long wait while employees do anything other than work. Also watched a truck drive in the exit in but the gate keeper is only concerned about checking your ticket
Went on a Saturday afternoon. They collect electric waste, batteries, cardboards, paints, syringes, medicine, motor oil and coolants. Almost everything. Clear instructions.
What you should know about your visit here is just a handful of things. 1. Make sure you're not tossing hazardous materials. 2. Show up early. 3. If you are Joe public, be in the right lane. 4. Bring a dust mask & gloves. 5. Wear old shoes. Mine met with the dark matter that seaps from within. People here are extremely helpful & professional. Great location and hopefully I don't have to be back soon! Hoarder friend just had to clean out his yard and I was happy to get him there. Thanks!
Took a little while to get to where we could empty our cars. People were keeping distance, and almost everyone was wearing a mask correctly. All employees were correctly masked and very helpful.
Posted rates are by yard but they charge whatever they want. Tons of inconsistency with the information provided, dumping left over wood and an old carpet, ended up with a $100.00 plus fee. If it wasn't because I was already there I would have taken it back. If you are in the area just use your 2 annual clean ups, make sure to schedule them and at least get some of you recology payment back.
Just getting compost so came at 6:45 to avoid the rush of commercial users. Still in line to get into the facility 50 minutes later. A complete cluster when it comes to operations management.
I needed to drop off small amount of wood and some styrofoam but they charge you prohibitively high price of $44 for that. Now it will have to go to waste. Clearly they do not care much about keeping this place clean. Plus a guy at the cardboard dropoff place told me I can drop off the wood around the building... I wasted half an hour in the line just to learn it is not free.
Average truck load is about 44$, a larger load is 88$. And if there is a line it takes FOREVER, only one guy usually working letting trucks in. If you have just dirt you pay by the ton
