Menlo Atherton are competent and honest. They are also efficient and organized and put a premium on good customer service. I suspect if I wanted to save money, I could find cheaper alternatives, but I’d probably pay for it in the end. We’ve been working with them for years and it’s been a great place to keep our cars serviced.

Very quick to accept my car following an issue with a dead battery. Courteous and I am sure competent although they could not find the reason for the dead 2 yr old battery.

They did the yearly service, changed tiers, and repaired the AC. Went fast and well. Also the fixed my tire when it was low tire pressure for free

We brought our 2006 Lexus in because the sunroof was stuck open and rain was forecasted. My husband explained on the phone that we were simply hoping to get it closed and not looking to invest in major repairs on a 20-year old vehicle. We appreciated being fit into the schedule on short notice. A few hours later, Anthony called and said "I have good news and bad news - which do you want first?" The good news is we are running a special on four tires/alignment and we can put them on today. The bad news is that the technician found a faulty cable on the sunroof and we do not repair sunroofs and we would need to take the vehicle elsewhere. We were charged $289 for the visit. While we understand there can be diagnostic time involved it would have been helpful to know upfront that the sunroof repairs aren't a service they provide. The upsell before delivering the actual issue felt tone-deaf and disappointing, especially given that we've been bringing our vehicle here since 2022 and prior owner since 2007.

I really like the friendly, local feel of this shop. They have low turnover in the service advisor team so you can build a relationship with them.

I had an amazing experience working with Menlo Auto repair. Steven was very responsive over the phone and they got me in right away. I got my car back within a few hours and they updated me every step of the way. As a female I sometimes worry about being taken advantage of at the mechanic, but they were a class act. Definitely considering this my go to mechanic from now on.

Old battery replaced, service was quick and easy. Staff was great and provided me with tips on how to keep engine clean and free of possible rodents getting into the engine area. Definitely will be back

Thank you Mario, Anthony and team. Despite the shop being very busy, Mario made accommodations to service my car, which would not start, and I had it towed in the following day. Mario communicated with me that due to the level of business it would most likely be the next morning. It happens, and I appreciated the communication. Sure enough, problem resolved and I was able to pick up by 11am. (Note: It wasn't the starter, but a glitch in electrical system, which they re-set. Also, informed me of a "oil mess" due to cap not replaced during previous oil change elsewhere. He recommended a steam cleaning, which I accepted.) All in all, extremely satisfied with the professionalism and personal care delivered by Mario and his crew. I will definitely be back for future car care and maintenance.

I’m from out of town, and I’m need of serious mechanical service. I did some quick research. With assurance from the tow guy of my choice of repair shop, I in fact made the right decision! Thank you Anthony, Ryan, and the shop. Had cracked radiator and thermostat replaced.

OMG I am in love with this adorable auto repair shop!! My tire pressure indicator light went off today and I’m going on a road trip tomorrow AND I just put air in the tires a month ago so called these guys up!! The guy on the phone was so friendly and polite and said they’d take a look! Easy peasy. So I did and … (to be continued after they take a look…) They told me two of my tires needed to be replaced and did a great job, figuring out the logistics and getting the tires there and doing an awesome job on all of it. They also let me know while they were taking a look at things that I needed my oil replaced and brakes replaced also. I didn’t have time to have the brakes replaced, but took it to another shop a week later when I did have time and that other shop confirmed that the brakes really needed to be replaced. All in all, I was superduper satisfied with the service from Menlo Atherton Automative Repair And I’m so happy to have a local car repair shop that I trust.

Recommended by Costco auto program for tire alignment. Called Saturday, Phil got me in day of and had service done within two hours. Super helpful!!! will definitely be back for more of my car needs!

I mean there’s just nothing bad to say. I came here twice, once for a coolant issue and second time for a general fluid change / check up. I was helped by Ryan and (iirc) Anthony. And both of em were super chill and helpful. These guys are professional, fast, straight forward with no bs. 10/10 would recommend & would return!

The guys were very flexible in accommodating my last minute needs when my car broke down, they not only repaired the vehicle but used diagnostics to identify what was the cause of a recurring issue other repair companies had overlooked or not bothered to explore. I have an inherent distrust of auto repair places, Menlo Atherton has restored my faith. I have been taking my different cars to them over the past 15 years for all sorts of issues, big (transmission) and small (smog checks). They are fair (much cheaper than the dealers), friendly, and excellent at communication. Highly recommend.

I had a concern about a droning noise in my car. My previous auto mechanic shop just dismissed it saying that I should expect such things from an older car. However, Menlo Atherton had a technician ride along with me in my car and pinpoint the noise that was bothering me. They investigated further and found the cause: it was the transmission. They assessed the problem and recommended options. I was very happy with their attention to detail. Will use their services again

Menlo Atherton has always done a great job on my internal combustion cars, I was pleased to learn they can now service my Tesla also. After a rodent chewed thru a wiring harness and hose in the front they were able to repair the issue and get me going again. Much faster and more convenient than waiting for an appointment with Tesla, and the work was done within a couple of hours.

Great experience with the whole auto team as a first time customer, from the front desk's communication (text & phone call) to the mechanic's thorough inspection, my car was ready to go in a timely manner! The team at Menlo Atherton Auto Repair are absolutely superb!! I was busy with life and let maintenance for my car slip to the wayside and the team were incredibly professional, honest, and genuinely engaged in helping me out. They were completely transparent with all their recommendations and honest - when they gave me a quote and more work was needed they still stuck to their quote. The car is running better than it has in a long time and they've certainly got me as a lifelong customer. Cannot recommend these folks highly enough!!

These 5 stars go out to Mario and his service that went above and beyond. On my way to work my very very old but reliable Toyota Highlander lit up like a Christmas tree. I anxiously called Menlo Atherton Auto Repair in the hopes they could help me in my time of need. With a fully booked schedule they had me come in for diagnostic and test drive. They said they would do their best to take a look at my car today. A handful of hours later I got the news. To be honest it wasn't good news, but that isn't the point. Mario explained to me his concerns, the why's and told me not to make any decisions at that moment. He suggested I should go home and think through my options and make my decision then. Mario and the amazing techs went above and beyond for us. Our timing belt and ac compressor were shot and we were trying to get back to SB. We got lucky and they were able to squeeze us in same day and get us on the road. Honest guys and straight shooters, all you can ask for.
