Everyone I have dealt with at Republic has been professional and personable. Over the past 30 years, They have been efficient and on time with pick up ( Even on holidays). Just a note of thanks to the drivers and office staff!
The driver always miss pickup, everything when I called the customer service representative just told me left on the curb side but the situation never get improve. The worst case I had callled 4 times within a week to reschedule miss pickup.
called Republic Services and was told to leave trash bags outside and that someone will pick up the trash today. It’s been a month since you guys promised us a bin and still haven’t done so. No one picked the trash up either. Now I’m left with bags sitting out, vulnerable to pests. I’ve tried calling back but can’t reach anyone — and I can’t leave a voicemail.
Come to the table with your unionized workers, pay them a living wage, and provide the service we pay you for, or else we will stop paying you for your (non) service.
Republic Services wrongfully took my garbage and recycling bins because they wrongfully thought I hadn't paid my bill. I called about it. They admitted their error, but said they could only return them in a week. I asked, "What about my accumulated garbage that needs to be picked up that morning?" They said they could do an extra pick up for $54! They made a mistake and they want to charge me $54 to pick up my garbage!? Outrageous! The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) should investigate this company that engages in extortion.
They tossed our garbage can into the garbage truck. We immediately called for a replacement trash can. They missed an appointment to bring it to us -- then finally dropped off a recycle bin.
We've missed two weeks of garbage pick ups due to their negligence. Infuriating.

If I could give a NAGATIVE star rating, I would. Repubic is rediculous. I have had this company serviced my area for many years and finally I want to give it a piece of my mind. They missed picking up my trash more than 10 times in the past two years. This is not acceptable. I hope whoever read this review will notice the unacceptable services that Rebulic Services provides. If possible, I hope Daly City city government will change the trash services to a reputable and creditable new vendor.
I living West lake apartments for 20 years 205 plamcrest drive Daly city since 1 mouths ago or more you guys start work here you have need change the schedule to pick up recycle the big truck coming 5 am in morning make a lot noise it's like a alarm clock wake up everybody in budding I work 2 jobs I get home 11 pm have to sleeping to 8 am I'm so stressed my parents they senior they very upset with this situation I recorded the truck coming 2 times 5:00 am and 6:28 am two times early morning I need rest I can't sleep I feel so weak I'll fight for my rigths you guys have to respect the works living here I'll go west lake office tell them you guys have to coming after noon we can't havepeace anymore I hope you guys change schedule as soon possible please
Update 2023: service is still stellar. Waited less than 2 minutes to speak about a missed pickup with Nicole who was very professional and courteous. She arranged a missed pickup asap. Super happy with republic services and their customer service reps.
We had transferred services to Daly City, and this meant figuring out the trash system, ordering trash cans and understanding billing.
Let's just say Yolanda was a star! She herself just moved 2 months ago so she had helpful tips on scheduling once a year cleanup, expediting the trash can delivery, explaining the rules for garbage vs. recycle vs. compost trash cans and overall making this the best customer care experience to get a new service started! And this after dealing with AMZN, Comcast and other customer service. So glad I connected with her and getting this setup was a breeze!
Unfortunately my garbage bin wasn’t fully emptied out on the weekly pickup. Spoke with Cathy/Kathy (2/1/23 at 12:00pm) who filed a report and had scheduled an additional pickup this morning. She was really helpful and professional! Thank you!
I had to contact Republic again since my black bin did not fully empty at pickup. Spoke with Janet / Jeanette (spelling) on 2/15/23 at 10:40 am who was so helpful in reporting and scheduling another pickup next day.
I happen to see the pickup next day and our driver took the time to ensure black bin fully emptied! Great service!

We have Republic Services as our residential trash pickup service. It has been 2 weeks in a row that our compost/ yard waste bin has not been picked. Last week we had to call to have them come back and pick up the same day, at least they picked up. This week we same thing, no pickup and just left the waste there and once again we called to have them come out for a missed pickup. This time no one even came out and its still sitting out the by the curb.
I think the drivers are very professional. Always pick up our trash and are friendly and courteous. When I have cardboard to drop off at the facility they are very helpful. Good job guys!
Cleaning out my grandmothers home and have paid this company over $1000 in bulk pick up removal. Today I scheduled a double pick up which consists of 24 bags and 4 large item was told by the company if we do not have 4 large items we could add additional bags which would make a total of 28 today they left six bags behind in my driveway. What is it that they expect customers to do by leaving garbage behind where is it supposed to go as we are cleaning out a home of 60 years and I’ve already scheduled multiple pick ups with this company well over $1000. 9 bags left in driveway not picked up and dumpster rental not available in our area? What sense does this make
I have called 2 or 3 times to request pickups of large items and each time has been professional and quick! Weekly trash pickups are consistent too, no complaints!
Tried to schedule a annual big pick up and the person on the other end was extremely rude. Even when I tried diffusing the situation by saying it was my fault for calling so late in the year she said "yes, it is". Must be nice to have a monopoly.
Every time I call these people the individuals answering the phone—so called customer service—really sound like they hate their job. I don’t blame them since they have to deal with literal garbage matters every day. Just wish they’d treat customers with a little bit of respect and courtesy!
Today is our garbage pick up , can't find my garbage can on the street . this is the 3rd time that the driver is not putting it on the right place. the last time, it was 25 feet away from my house. it will be nice if they will put it back where they get it.
Friendly drivers and all. If I have a broken can, they replace it. They always pick up our waste, but please, can you raise the time of truck arrival? Flashing lights and metal noises is too much, especially at around 4:00 in the morning. Thanks.
Garbage item sitting outside my driveway for a week and no one pick it up. When I called and tried to find out what was the problem, the respond is "Why don't you call us earlier if item has not been picked up? our guy said he has already done his job and picked up." Really? We pay you for service and you paid someone not doing his job? is this really the way how you operate your business and help your community? It is totally negligent.
