G-Rad of College Towing was professional and prompt. He called me to let me know status of service call. G-rad was able to find a solution to a tricky towing issue and before I knew it we were on our way to the mechanic. He let me ride with him and I so appreciated his pleasant personality. I will definitely use College Towing again!

This review is written for a peer of mine. According to California Vehicle Code 22658 and 22513 (under the Fee Caps Based on Law Enforcement or CHP rates), the following are true: •    A tow company cannot charge more for towing or storage from private property than the amount it would charge for a tow at the request of a law enforcement agency in that jurisdiction (for example, under a contract with the local police or sheriff). •    If the towing company has a rate approved by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for that area, your charges can’t exceed that rate either. •    This applies to both towing and storage fees. After having their car towed, a peer of mine was subsequently quoted $650 by SLO College Towing. This exceeds the mandated rates given by law enforcement, all of which are quoted on their (SLO PD) website. My peer was intimidated into paying the money immediately upon arrival by a very unkind/unhelpful employee and was told that they were offered the lowest rate option (a lie). The gross overcharge is not in accordance with the municipal codes of San Luis Obispo. This company needs to do better.

Tow driver did very good car set up.

I have a brand new Audi SQ8. I purchased it as a dream car. Unfortunately, I had a tire blowout and needed it towed to get new tires. When the driver was putting the car on a flatbed he didnt realize the parking brake was engaged and while lifting the car the front end was off the ground a couple feet and then fell because the tires wouldn't turn. Honest mistake right? I took pictures told the driver, he briefly tried to deny it but then apologized about it. This happened on Friday 11/28. The dispatcher was helpful but said almost all management was on vacation. They would reach out quickly as possible. I called every day and also sent an email. No one did anything about it, and on Tuesday, I spoke to someone who wouldn't give me his name and claimed that the issue wouldn't be resolved any time soon. I finally got a call today, Wednesday (6 days later) and was told they did an investigation and they wouldn't cover anything. Keep in mind they never called me back, never looked at my car in person or anything. Just denied it and were super rude about it. Keep in mind I watched this happen. The damage, which I have pictures of is directly underneath the tow hooks and the car fell from about 3-4 feet off the ground. What a joke right. Here is the kicker, each person I spoke with, manager and dispatcher (with the exception of the first person) was extremely confrontational and defensive. Im really at a loss. To be honest, I dont know if I have ever left a public review of anywhere that was negative but these people deserve it! At this point I will be turning them in to the BBB and filing a claim on their insurance anyways and also filing a lawsuit with the court. This is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! I really, really encourage everyone to stay away from this place at all costs. Mistakes happen, but to handle it in the way that they did is totally unacceptable and I will not stop until they take responsibility for this. Oh by the way, my wife is having a baby tomorrow so to have to deal with this simultaneously is completely infuriating. Shame on you College Towing. This isn't the last time you have heard of this. DONT LET THEM BULLY AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!

Five-Star Rescue With Style — Thank You, JRad & College Towing! If you ever find yourself stranded in San Luis Obispo and needing a tow, pray that College Towing sends JRad, because he turned what could have been a miserable afternoon into a smooth and surprisingly pleasant experience. After calling Auto Club, we were told it would be over an hour due to “weather delays.” (For the record: it was sunny, dry, and not a cloud in sight — unless someone was forecasting imaginary rain. 🌤️) Needless to say, we were already frustrated. Then like a towing superhero on wheels, JRad rolled up 15–20 minutes later and saved the day. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly excellent at what he does. Calm, confident, and kind — exactly what you want when your car decides to quit on you. He handled everything quickly and safely, talked us through the process, and had us on the way home before Auto Club’s estimated wait time even started. If every tow driver were like JRad, people would actually look forward to car trouble. 😉 College Towing — please know what a fantastic employee you have representing your company. People like him are the reason customers come back and recommend you to others. Huge thanks again to JRad — you turned a stressful situation into a great experience! 🚛✨

My experiencing was outstanding. A man named Jose came to town my car cause it wouldn’t start due to a problem with the key fob. He actually fixed the problem for me so didn’t have to have it towed. He saved me. Much appreciated. He’s a keeper for sure!!!!!

My Kia broke down at the bottom of the grade, and so I called College Towing. Scotty came to help! Scotty did a great job. Thank you!

My car died in Costco parking lot yesterday & I wanted to give a shout out to the great Tow Truck Driver, Delmar from College Towing! He arrived quickly & figured out how to get my car hooked up despite the crazy Costco shoppers who didn’t think that a big Tow Truck with a flatbed was reason to not go down that aisle! Please people, be considerate of these guys working and give them a wide berth & don’t try to park when he’s on his back securing the disabled car!🛻🚗

Jose thru AAA is a lifesaver! Really friendly and helped us out of a difficult car situation late at night.

Scotty showed up with his coworker trainee to tow a dead Porsche. He knew exactly how to handle the car and did so with tremendous care and finesse. He inspired great confidence in us that the car was safe and secure. Such a wonderful towing experience. Wish all tow truck drivers were like Scotty.

This review is for your Driver Jose Gonzalez. I was waiting for 2 hours for a tow. AAA kept saying someone was coming but kept postponing the time. Mr Gonzalez was down in south county about 25 miles away and he picked up my queue for a tow and realized i was in a very dangerous part of Cuesta grade so rushed to help me. He immediately got me into his truck to keep me safe. There was lots of traffic on a blind curve. Just a scary dangerous situation. He had to maneuver in and out of the truck w/o getting hit. I was so thankful he took care of me. AAA failed in providing me quick service but Jose came through.. Thank you Jose. You were he best...

Had a tire go flat on my horse trailer 6 hours from home. It was a busy Sunday morning, but C.T. got me back on my way!!! So awesome!!

Lucky Luke is the best!!! Actual lifesaver. Jumped my car and gave me some great advice. He also took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure everything was okay before leaving. I can't thank him enough!

My RIDE with LUCKY LUKE made a rough day very memorable. Such a great driver with a great personality. Although I don’t wish to have a similar breakdown again I think I made a friend

Had my truck towed tonight by Dan. He was extremely helpful and understanding. I couldn't be more happy with the help I received today. Plus Dan has some impressive back up skills! Way to go getting that big truck in our tiny drive way!

Jose with Grover Beach College Towing was kind, friendly, and efficient. He came quickly, hooked up, and towed our car home. The dispatcher that answered the phone was quick to get someone out to us right away and I appreciated her for that.

Dan was so helpful in getting my car back on the road. He arrived before the estimated arrival time through the Auto Club. Besides being kind to my dog, he was very helpful as well as having me back on the road quickly. Thank goodness to have such a nice person there to help you when your car needs a tow or battery jump. I had the best towing experience with Dan and College Towing. My car had to be towed a long way and he had such a positive attitude when he picked up the car and made me feel like my car was in good hands. He made sure my car was safe when dropped off after hours. Dan was personable and followed through with communication about the status of my car. I definitely recommend using College Towing and make sure to ask for Dan.

Wasn’t sure if anyone was going to be able to help us, we had very little money & felt stranded… but AAA sent this company & I am absolutely impressed. The drivers name was Dan & he put me and my family at ease. He showed us that it was only the plastic cover that was damaged & the rim was fine, then directed us where to go for a new tire this meant the world to my family, and I’ll never forget that

Both Napoleon and I felt safe and completely cared for. Thank you for taking us to the Transmission place, they happily helped immediately and sent me on my way. I think it took them 30 minutes tops. I'm absolutely livid with College Towing in SLO! The experience was a nightmare—my car was snatched from a poorly marked zone, and retrieving it was a battle with the most uncooperative and brusque staff imaginable. Their fees? Outrageous! The lack of empathy and the sheer audacity to act as if they were granting me a favor was beyond infuriating. This level of customer service is deplorable and downright predatory. I'll never entrust them with my vehicle again, and I'll be sure to spread the word far and wide to steer clear of their services. What a rip-off!

It took 15 minutes for the first flat bed to show up but we had messages before hand we were in a parking structure so it took about 3 hours for the next truck that could get us out to show up. Once they did the guys was super efficient and got us on to the next stop. AAA covered the first 7 miles but the next 8 cost $95.

David was fantastic! We had a tire blow out at the top of Cuesta Grade north bound. We had a van full of people and our luggage. David took care of us. We never had to exit the vehicle in that dangerous area. He was able to quickly get to our temporary spare and put it on. He explained the best way to turn around to get back to SLO. Thank you SO MUCH DAVID!! Bravo!

I received a call within seconds from a Gentleman named Joe Smith. Joe was very sensitive my families and myself needs, Joe was a pleasure to deal with and had a technician to my family and myself in time under AAA estimated. I highly recommend College Towing for many reasons and thank you greatly Joe Smith for your excellent customer service. A+++
