David was great! Broken down truck about 49 miles west on I-40. Was able to come out and get me pretty quick and take me into Needles for repairs. Would definitely recommend! Mr. Davis took great care of me, a really good guy.
I contacted AAA roadside assistance while stranded on the side of the freeway near Needles, CA, and Active Towing was dispatched for roadside tow service.
From the first phone call, the driver, David, was very concerning. He refused to accept a photo of my AAA membership card, complained about pay when customers use photos, said he couldn’t help load the tow dolly due to liability (understandable) but offered no solutions, and repeatedly insisted it wasn’t worth his time to come out, regardless of what AAA had authorized.
During the call, he repeatedly addressed me as “sweetheart.” I calmly told him I did not appreciate it, and his tone immediately became hostile.
AAA tried to arrange another tow to a safer location so we could load the dolly ourselves. The same driver was dispatched again and was argumentative, and he hung up on my husband on the phone. We requested a different driver, AAA contacted management, and were told David was the only option. When dispatched again, he never arrived.
We ended up loading our disabled vehicle ourselves in an unsafe roadside location, over an hour from the nearest town. I am very grateful my husband was with me. if I had been alone, I would have felt extremely unsafe.
This isn’t about towing ability. It’s about how this company treats customers when they are stranded and vulnerable. If you’re a woman alone, or anyone stuck on the side of the freeway, think twice before calling Active Towing. Respect, professionalism, and actually showing up should be the minimum, not something you have to hope for.

Good rates and Matthew and Najah were instrumental in helping my wife and I get unstuck from a situation in the Mojave National Preserve. They were professional and friendly and worked tirelessly to get us out and back to the pavement and even checked back later to make sure that we were alright.
