I read the reviews about them being shady but I still came by because I had to get rid of scrap metal from my truck and they took me in right before closing. First thing right away when I didn’t like was I couldn’t see the weight of the scales before and after so he honestly could have written any number down.
In a few days I come by again right before they close but he didn’t wanna take me this time which I was OK with. I know I had to get there earlier which I just couldn’t. So the next morning I go to a different place up the street that closes at 4:30 PM and to my surprise they paid me not just double of what I got paid here but 235% more. I was like wow. This place is a rip off. So you choose
They are fair if not better than others and they have water and restrooms to wash up ,in and out with cash and never bissý having to wait in long lines
I literally just came from this place, you have to un lid all of your plastic bottles which I don't have to do anywhere else. And and after doing the math I was shorted a pound and a 1/2 on my aluminum and a pound on my plastic. They count on the fact that you won't be able to do quick math to realize they have shorted you. I don't think I will be returning to this location
I wish I can give negative five stars they are straight con artist they tried to offer me $55 for scrap copper wire that seemed to really low to me so I went over to Sims metal and I got $112. this is my first time to either of these places I don't know any of them I don't work for any of them I'm just telling you what happened to me. Don't go to Sunshine THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!
Was just looking for a place to recycle my cans and bottles. Came on a Saturday, checked in, guy told me what to do; fill garbage cans with the bottles and cans (remove caps from plastic bottles and put different items types in different cans), then they weigh and out them through machines. They calculate and then send you to cashier. Easy peasy. Was there about 15 mins total. They recycle all kinds of other stuff too, not sure how that works though.
There's guys are always low balling you, making excuses to drop the prices and now saying that they aren't paying for tin/sheet metal but you can donate it. They are still getting paid for it when they take it to where they recycle. Not true to their word, untrustworthy.

Sunshine steel has been at this location for years I have never been cheated in weight or pay in my 20 years of doing business with them the only gripe is the 3 day wait on being paid that is regulated by the county so really not a direct fault of sunshines policy I will do business with them for all my recycling whenever the opportunity arises
been going there for years as a business that does recycling , they will ask for your I.D. as the state requires them to do. if your are a thief and you try to recycle stolen product , you will not get paid. They are one of the best in the area but they do business by the book.
