So much great to see!
Campground was relaxing and amazing (the flush toilets were clean, the showers worked tho show up early afternoon to not get a bbrrrr cold one!)
Hikes in the area and park are top notch!

This is the best state campground I know of in California. The amenities are fabulous. The only deficiency is the lack of pictures of the campsites for reservation purposes. Because this is not available anywhere (at a quality level) I am posting below pictures of all the campsites. I can only upload 50 at a time so at least some of them can be observed. Note that these pictures were taken around noon (two separate days) to show the available shade for each site. If you have solar cells you might want to snag one in the hot sun.
The bear boxes are high up, out in the sun and do not accommodate very tall ice chests. You have to pull the chest out to open the lid to access the inside of the ice chest.
The historic gold mining town is great and they play a video on the history of the gold rush if you ask for it.
I will also provide a map I corrected and labeled that shows the location of all the campsites. Note that some have a grouped parking area (not good for trailers, etc.).
We found a couple of gold nuggets in the streams while there the last time. One was about an ounce or so. The mountain there is loaded with gold. A docent said that if they were to mine that mountain with modern gold-mining techniques the worldwide price of gold would collapse to $250 an ounce.
Oh, just kidding about the gold nuggets (we DID NOT find) but I did learn or read that one camper did look down from the bridge and spotted a gold nugget that weighed in at an ounce. That would definitely make it worthwhile camping in this gold-infested area.
Amazing experience!!! Have camped here for over 25 years. Always a wonderful experience with being with family and friends and enjoying the great outdoors the staff during that time has always been enjoyable and the facility is beautiful as well as educational highly recommend!!!
Beautiful place. Interesting museum (small) with lots of old mining around outdoors. The campground there is top notch!! Lots of great hiking and small lakes.
The Frazier Falls hike is a half mile in paved path and is easy. I pushed in someone in a wheel chair (that was the most challenging part about it). Beautiful creek and falls appreciated by many.
You could spend a week exploring this park and still not touch everything that it has to offer!!!
Local people are very nice. Great restaurants, Gumbas ll in Blairsden is highly recommended!!! Great pizza and sandwiches!

Great place to escape the Sacramento summer heat waves. I recently camped here for several days and loved it. There are no day use or parking fees anywhere in this park. The only fees are for camping, which you can get half off of with a senior or disabled pass. There are also some free campgrounds in the park that don't offer water or services. There are several world class hikes within the park and the PCT passes by the edge of the park. Camp sites were very decently sized for a free park and they had free hot showers.
The campground is beautiful, especially along the river. Green trees & vegetation everywhere. Plus, a delightful museum and the blacksmith shop is a must to sed.
The Park Ranger on duty at the museum was very professional, friendly, and awesome! She deserves a big "Thank You" and was the best part of our visit!
I have been visiting, camping, fishing, and hiking in the park off and on for over fifty-five years! The park is nothing like it used to be, what a great loss! The camp host Dan was unprofessional, disrespectful, and lacked historical / current knowledge of the campground! He also lacked knowledge of the fishing / stream access within the campground! I will be filing complaints with the California Parks and Recreation Department, California Department of Fish & Wildlife, Plumas Eureka State Park, as well as Reserve California!
We camp here every year, the park is beautiful and the camp hosts friendly and informative. We stayed in spot 11 this year and it was beautiful with a small creek by the camp sight and bathrooms and showers just a short walk away. The showers are clean and have plenty of hot water. Overall great experience.
One of my most favorite places to be part of nature. The views are stunning. The air feels wonderful. The sounds are not of people. The dirt road seems to go on forever. -Regina
This has consistently been an amazing place to camp. They have bathrooms with running water, some SHOWERS, hose bibs are common around sites. There’s usually a picnic table, a fire pit, and a bear locker at every site. Around 4th of July it gets very busy because of the fun activities in Graegle. The frostee place on the way to the camp site is worth it. It will be a long low red building, and the sign is pretty noticeable. Multitudes of hikes no matter which direction you go. Trails not needed. See waterfalls and pools up the creek, as well as some patches of peaceful open areas spread throughout the thick trees. The air smells special and fresh. The stars at night are unbelievably fun to sleep under and stargaze.
I loved this area because of all the historic mining features, great campground, and awesome trails to nearby lakes you can swim in. Definitely a great place to spend a weekend!
I've been coming to this area for quite a while including this campground. This areas is beautiful with lots of cool history. The campground has bathrooms and showers. Some sites are better than others. Lots of great hiking in the area, some trailheads easily accessible from the campground. Beautiful lakes all around.
I love this place because they still have the old buildings up from the early 1900s and it's just a hidden gem you wouldnt really know about unless you knew someone who lives up there.
Absolutely gorgeous region with ample hiking and exploring to be had. The park campground is top notch with good facilities and excellent sites that are distributes well. The neighboring town is great for a supply run, but you can get some basics at the park office.
Didn't do a lot of the more outdoorsy things this park had to offer, but for just a short stroll around the entrance area looking at the blacksmith and woodsmith shops and the museum etc it's great. Sat for quite a while listening to a guy named Dennis tell us about how things used to be in the gold rush days. He was wonderful.
Sounded like they were slowly repairing the mine area and hopefully it'll be ready for viewing sometime.
I love this place. Great California gold mining/snow skiing history. The Ranger Station/store/museum is a treasure trove of local history. Beautiful campground. Be sure to bring a camera for the many photo ops along the hiking trails to remnants of the Jamison Mine Complex, Eureka Tunnel, Tramway Terminal Ruins, the Mohawk Stamp Mill and the Intorf Ski Lodge. If you have a 4 wheel drive with some ground clearance drive up to Eureka Lake for a breathtaking view of Eureka Peak at 7447' or take a hike to the top. Definitely put this place on your "to go see" list!
I went to the Lost Sierra Hoedown and had the time of my year! Enjoyed every moment. You can hike and play and listen to live music. Thanks to Azariah Reynolds for hosting his music festival at the old Johnsville Ski Hill
Nice mountain to visit and play and relax in. It has many lakes to swim, fish, and kayak in. Trails for exploring and majestic scenery. Old mining town nestled up in the thick pine forest. There r golf courses, wine bars, nice restaurants near by. It's tranquil, relaxing, and so much to do for everyone. You can easily have a whole week here and have something different to do every day. I had a very nice time here. It was my second time here. And I am marking it as one of my favorite places.
