On 01/06 I returned to this store to exchange LED headlights that did not fit my car. The cashier (Pablo) told me they did not install LED, just regular headlights. I asked him for tips on installing because it was going to be my first attempt. He offered to help me if I didn’t mind waiting thirty minutes. At that exact time, Pablo came to help. He struggled with one of them, and as another employee (Robert) entered the parking lot, he jumped in to help. While Pablo took out the trash, Robert did his best to make one of the headlights stay on. After many efforts, we exchanged the LEDs for regular headlights. Robert assisted me at the register when we went inside for a second exchange. I couldn’t help hearing the employee with long, blond hair (who sold me the wrong headlights two days earlier) asking him what he was doing and stressing that he needed help in the back.
I felt like customer service isn’t a priority, but an inconvenience. The tone was of annoyance that Robert started his shift and was helping a customer in the parking lot. That’s the subtle attitude that makes female shoppers not want to be in spaces considered “boys club”, it’s a reason why I’ve gone so long without stepping inside an AutoZone.
I want to acknowledge Pablo and Robert because they are superstar employees at this location. They gave me a great first experience at AutoZone because they went above and beyond. They were patient, helpful, and nice. They did not lose their cool when we encountered installation issues, and I realize I probably took a lot of time, but they stayed with me until the task was complete. I appreciate their assistance because I was stressed about continuing to drive at night without headlights. Also, they didn’t make me feel stupid because I didn’t know how to do a simple installation. In the end, I left with headlights.Jan 19, 2026 -

Pablo and his staff were rude and argumentative. Claimed I never called them and then asked me to prove I did. Showed them the call logs and they had no response. Store had the part I was looking for online but the employees did not try to locate it for me. Terrible experience lead by a terrible leader Pablo. Thank you

Hands down the best service every time I go in. This time I just so happen to be in need of a battery and luckily they had it in stock. Pablo went above and beyond holding the battery for me while I made it to the store. Helped me install it and made sure everything was running smooth. Great service and attitude.

Listen… I was just a girl, on the 5 freeway, minding my business, headed from Alhambra to work like a responsible adult.
Next thing I know my dashboard starts putting on a strobe light concert — flickering on, flickering off, progressively getting more dramatic the farther I drive.
I said, “We 15 mins away, we can make it.”
But something in my spirit said, “Exit the freeway now before you and this car fight for real.”
Y’all… the SECOND I hit that red light off the exit?
My car said goodnight. Completely died.
I tried to start it like 12 times like that would intimidate it into working, and it finally cranked just long enough for me to limp my way into AutoZone.
Let me tell you about the real MVP that works there — short, caramel complexion king, and smarter than Google.
Not only was he transparent, but he literally gave me a whole car TED talk.
Come to find out, the battery another AutoZone sold me? Not even the right one for my car. He said, “Yeah it’ll keep dying every 6 months…”
Like hello??? Information I could’ve used 6 months ago???
But the plot twist?
I was still under warranty, so I got the same battery swapped for free, AND he schooled me that I can request an upgrade to the right gel battery for my car… and just pay the difference.
WHO KNEW?!
I didn’t even make it to my event, but honestly?
I found a gem in Costa Mesa AutoZone — both in knowledge AND customer service.
So shoutout to my caramel complexion lifesaver for helping me secure a safe ride home and teaching me more about batteries than I ever planned to know.
Would 100% break down again (respectfully) if it meant being helped like that.

Was disappointed with the customer service here. For someone who doesn't know a thing about parts I would think they would help u a bit more. Guy that was working there seemed to not care to help. Not impressed with this spot

It’s 7:45 am and I am still waiting outside the door for them to open the sign clearly says they open at 7:30 am the workers are inside and not letting me in so I guess they just want me to stand outside with other customers for no reason

I bought 6 NGK spark plugs. I decided not to use it. I came in to this store and returned it. First question was, why you do it here? I thought I can do it at any AutoZone store. I just bought it 2 days ago. Then she asked, why didn’t you buy it here? I wasn’t near by here. Then she proceeded to show me the computer to return the item it doesn’t work. I asked for the manager. It was never introduced to me. I know incompetent when I see it. She knows nothing about her job. I will buy it somewhere else even if I pay more. Don’t buy at AutoZone here or anywhere. Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with in a long time. I would do a negative star.

They did not have an adjustable wrench in the size I was looking for. It’s place in the shelf was empty. I asked and they did not have it. Otherwise a nice store with friendly staff

Robert is a gem. He did the plug to check for codes, agreed I needed spark plugs, recommended me his preferred plugs, and even helped me replace my washer fluid. I'm very appreciative!!!

I needed spark plugs for my 2005 Chevy suburban. Kid at counter not only charged me a more expensive price, they were the wrong ones on top of that. So after riding my bike back there, returning them was questionable. Who ever was working later, pointed this out to me and made sure there was no more mix ups in the bin they were suppose to be. Told me they didn't have any. Refunded me and I was off to another parts store. Kid originally was good with their computer, but failed terribly at knowing anything about parts, ECT. Store is always clean. Every one is nice and helpful. I have only been to this one twice. My go to for auto parts is Hub Auto on Harbor. Been going there for ever. They always get it right, save me money and time. Auto zone has a good stock and basic stuff for your auto, not wanting to knock down on them, but I should of went to Hub Auto first. Lol.

Fresh car owner and was stressed out when my check engine light came on. I popped it and Luigi helped me diagnose it and get me the right parts pretty quickly. He was super sweet and made the overall process a lot less overwhelming.

Came into store to have my battery tested. The employee behind the counter said, “I don’t think our tester is working the last time I tried it”. Sure enough it was not working. Hello? The store knew that already. How about getting a new one or fixing the existing one?

When I called in a panic that my battery was dead and needed help replacing and changing it, the man on the phone was so kind and said they would handle it. When I arrived, Carlton N quickly assisted me with great customer service and offered a lot of knowledge. This was hassle free and under warranty, and I would highly recommend. Give your team a bonus!

Got the best help needed by Luigi and his team. They had all the right tools I needed to get the job done quick and efficient, especially when I had my family in the car. Josh helped me out as much as he could, he was persistent from the moment he assisted me. He let me know his manager was not in store to help out with the transaction. However, he was considerate enough to call his manager for assistance over the phone. They were both able to go above and beyond and assist me with a reimbursement for turning in the alternator I had to replace. Even though the system had issues they were able to find a method to complete the transaction. I’m really grateful for their support!

The staff did an incredible job of helping me do a return on an item that wasn't the correct fit, assisted me in troubleshooting the issue with my A/C, and then get the correct item. Also, they personally helped me get it working again! Thanks to Luigi and Alfredo for taking the time to make sure I was taken care of!

I believe the gentleman that helped me was named Luigi and he was outstanding! It’s literally the small things that go a long way. I am not familiar with anything that has to do with cars and I needed to refill my coolant. He helped me find the right one and even offered to help me fill it! Not only did he fill it he also showed me a couple of other things to find. Thanks again for the excellent customer service and quick service !

Carlos and Luigi are amazing, extraordinary service, went out of the way without complaint to not only find the solution but also fix the problem (Battery). They’re great examples and deserve a raise or credit for being good humans and employees and going above and beyond to care about people and it shows in how they treated me and the others who needed solutions as well.

I am visiting my son from out of town. I noticed that his license plates were not on tight. I went to this auto zone, not knowing what to buy on how to put the hardware on. Not only did Mr. Martinez assist me in making sure I had the right hardware he even put my sons license plates in for me. Also, another gentleman helped me this morning with a issue. He was also amazing. I am so grateful to these young men for going way and beyond the customer expectation. They really cared and helped a worried mom.

My Camry battery was dead, and I had to get a new one. Claudia at this location helped me choose a proper battery for my car that had a 3 year warranty. She helped with the installation and everything, it was an incredibly simple experience. I'm very happy with Claudia's service and it appeared that everyone at this location was helpful with the other customers while I was there.
