Superb four-night stay. Katie and her partner are hands-on Hosts. Very, very passionate about the work they do and the experience they hope to deliver. Entire property was gorgeous and beautifully maintained, beach across the street (Sand Dollar) was epic and ever changing. Definitely worthy of a longer stay next time.

Beautiful place. Campground host was extremely friendly and gave us recommendations for underground / less known sights and hikes. Grounds are right across Sand dollar beach, so you can walk right there. No bathrooms - just porta pottys.

This is a pretty campground where the sites are spaced apart at reasonable distances so you aren't ontop of your neighbors There are lots of mature trees so it has more shade than sun It's a 10 minute walk across the highway to the beach There is water, trash and toilets ; no showers While I was there the bathrooms were closed and they had clean portable toilets available It was as very peaceful and enjoyable

If you know, you know. Best campground in S Big Sur. Porta potties, water spigots. Get a spot away from the school and away from the hwy.

Great spot next to Jade Cove. It was full the days we were there. Good site and more then you need in a camping spot

Great campground in a great spot. The campground is a great place to put up a tent on the beautiful Big Sur coastline.

I wasn't a happy camper here at Plaskett Creek Campground. This place was not cheap to stay here. This campground didn't have showers or a decent normal bathroom (guessing they don't want to have to clean them) to use either. So where is our money going to? Sure isn't to give the guests clean working bathrooms or showers to use. FYI there were nasty porta potty's. Yuk!! Plus, too many huge rocks/boulders there that got in the way to maneuver a truck pulling a travel trailer into our spot. Not staying here again.

I’d vote this a 5 (and a shout out to the hosts who are helpful) but I’m baffled at why the constructed toilets are not in use! Instead we get porta-potties which were full almost to overflowing! yuck! I can guess why the durably constructed toilets are not in use but will withhold opinion on that… for now. The location and condition of the campground is in reasonably good condition for a busy campground. We were unnerved by a very friendly skunk who visited us nightly with little fear!

Great campground that’s a short walk from the beach and good lookout spots. The camp itself is as expected. Friendly staff. Firewood available to buy at the camp. Raccoons and skunk roam at night so beware.

Excellent site, right on the coast with so much to explore within 45 mins drive. A favourite of ours in California with BIg Sur stacking up well against Zion and Yosemite. The campsite hosts, Lisa and William made us feel at home immediately and kept us entertained for the short few days. Best hosts and will unlikely be bettered. Only complaint was that we had to leave.

Plaskett Creek Campground is a true coastal camping gem, and our recent trip there in July was a fantastic experience. We stayed at Campsite 041, was spacious and clean, easily accommodating two 4-person tents and a massive 8-plus-person tent. Its proximity to the restrooms was a major plus, making middle-of-the-night trips much more convenient and well-maintained with flush toilets, a definite "luxury" in the camping world. Each site is also well-equipped for cooking, featuring a dedicated BBQ grill and a fire pit with a grill cover, which made preparing our meals over the fire a breeze. The campground is very dog-friendly. The coastal environment is a huge part of the appeal, and we experienced fog passing through parts of the night, paired with the campfire. Another major highlight is the close walk to the beach, where the views are truly spectacular and worth the short trek. One thing, look out for your food, we were sitting by the fire pit when some very clever raccoon friends attempted to swipe some of our food. While the rule is a two-car limit per site, we asked about a third car and the hosts were accommodative - told that as long as all vehicles fit within the site, it's fine. If not, there's ample overflow parking by the entrance. The firewood available onsite is a bit pricier than what you'd buy at a store, it's a lifesaver if you run out.

Great spot with walk in sites. No showers, and spots are a little cramped IMO, but great location right by the beach. They also had firewood and pits included

Campground hosts have intentionally disabled bathroom sinks so they won't have to clean them. This makes bathroom hand washing impossible. Hand washing is crucial to health, and functional washrooms are part of what our campground fees go to. So they should either turn the sinks back on or reduce fees. People lining up at faucets designed to dispense drinking water, to brush their teeth and wash their hands was not an ideal situation.

William and Lisa were the best! Very attentive, Very kind, and helpful souls. I also always saw them maintaining the grounds well and staying on top of bathroom cleanliness and trash. Campground is pretty and peaceful, short walk to several overlooks and a beautiful beach. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location. I really wish they had improved the infrastructure for tenters.... hard to find level pads at most sites I saw/encountered. This place is great for families and groups. Set back from the water and nestled in the trees, the campground is wonderfully sheltered from the wind.

Camp hosts (Lisa and William) were amazingly accommodating, friendly, and extremely helpful. The were always out and about working and keeping everything cared for and everyone happy. Hard workers those two. Bathrooms were incredibly clean. No matter the time of day, they smelled good and floors and toilets were super clean. Campground was also very clean, no litter and well kept. I've camped there several times and this was by far the best simply due to the hosts.

I was recently looking for a FCFS campsite for one night on my way down the coast. Found this one online and drove there and set up camp. Another camper said it was their site and the host confirmed I had to move. They said it was a reservable site and the site was reserved. No one had service, so no way to verify. I did check later and it was definitely a FCFS site. I believe the host wanted to move the other campers to a better site and never though I would show up while they were all gone for an hour. I would have moved happily if they were honest. Instead, they blamed me for being mistaken when I wasn't. Won't go back.

We had such a great time staying here with William and Lisa! Definitely some of the best hosts we’ve ever had the privilege of meeting and an awesome location. Very clean bathrooms and overall well maintained.

This campground is one my favorites. This is a very nice place where you will be in contact with nature all the time. It's the best getaway place from all the craziness of work and all. You will have to book this place with months in advance if you want to secure a spot. They have group sites as well. They have running water, clean bathrooms, no showers. I usually take my portable shower. Sand beach is walking distance from the campground.

You have the use the recreation.gov app to make reservations and pay, easy once we figured it out. We stayed in 007, upon arrival camp host was very helpful and friendly. Our spot was a little steep and not much room to maneuver. No hook up, bathrooms are nice. They do have fresh water spout’s around the campground. Quiet hours 6pm to 10am, no generator usage. Sand dollar beach ( no sand dollars) across the road, beautiful and scenic walk down. Be aware of tides. Otherwise quite a beautiful campground, quiet and peaceful.

We just had the best family reunion here!! Michael was the best host. We had booked GS1 for our group of 21 people, and once we got there, we realized that we weren't going to fit. Michael worked his magic, and we ended up in a great spot. The bathrooms were immaculate, the closeness to the beach was awesome (FYI, it does take you down a steep set of stairs to get there, so be warned), so overall, an amazing experience. 10/10 would recommend and will be back!!

Michael was simply amazing! We had landed here after a long drive and a hard hike hoping for a spot. Michael showed us a spot where we could camp for the night and gave us couple of ideas on things to do around! Very resourceful! The campground is really nice - and the location is amazing!

An unbelievably beautiful campground with unbelievably kind hosts! Michael and Punky do a wonderful job at running the campground, making sure everyone passing through enjoys their time there. Both of them are hilarious and extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. In our case, we had trouble figuring out a path back to the 101 due to the lack of cell service; not only did Michael show us a nearby road that had reopened recently, saving us a bunch of time -- he told us exactly how to safely navigate it and even pitched a couple great attractions along the way (check out Limekiln State Park!). They also have a table stocked with firewood and various first aid supplies which you can purchase from them during the day if you've forgotten anything at home. Be sure to go to them if you need help with anything! Of course, the stretch of coastline adjacent to the campground is amazing. There are various hiking trails with sweeping views, trails that lead into the hills, day-use areas for picnics, pebbly beaches that are perfect for a day in the water. With so much to do, there's certainly never a reason to be bored if you're staying at Plaskett Creek. But as always, it's the people around you who really make a trip outdoors something special. Thank you to our excellent hosts, we can't wait to come back!

Punky and Michael are the most spectacular and accommodating camp hosts this side of the Mississippi!!!!! We lobe them so much and we love this campground. They do a great job keeping all the restrooms and grounds clean but most importantly bring good vibes and story telling. Definitely camp with them asap!

Biked up to this site and we were so welcomed and well taken care of by Michael. It was like sleeping in a green fairy meadow. There were lilies at the entrance and clean flush toilets. The campground is open and everyone is mostly in site of each other in this big loop which I liked and made me feel secure. I would highly recommend. On the way back we were trying to find out the bus schedule and Michael searched it for us, cutting our ride mileage in half, saved the day!

I had the absolute best time at this campsite due to its incredible location, beatiful grounds with magnificent trees, a spectacular ocean view, jade farming at jade cove, clean facilities, and the most awesome compassionate hosts. Michael made me feel welcomed from the very beginning and is a source of a wealth of knowledge with great stories. My trip through Big Sur was so pleasantly memorable because of my stay at Plaskett Creek Campground. Thank you!!!!

Great experience from the hosts Michael and Punky, bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. Great customer service and super friendly. We would wave $$ at them as they drove by at night time buy firewood. :-) great family environment, highly recommend staying there. Very safe and family friendly.

We had a fantastic time at the campground! Ocean views from campsites 7 and 8 were stunning. Site 8 offered plenty of shade, while we managed to fit three 5 people tents in campsite 7. Restrooms are clean and in my opinion closed water sinks helped, as there were no lines. The well-maintained campsite, easy access to Sand Dollar Beach, and proximity to great hikes made the long drive from Bay Area totally worth it. The camp hosts were also incredibly friendly and helpful with all our questions. They recommended truly awesome hikes. Conveniently, you can purchase fire wood and fire starters right at the campsite. Overall, a highly enjoyable experience!!

We booked this on a recommendation. It was a nice quiet campground, bathrooms were clean. We had site 31, and there is no shade at all (there were 3-4 HUGE trees which had been cut down and the trunks were left, which made a fun for place for the kids to climb, but did not help with shade). Also we had two tents and both were either on a slope or had roots/lumps. I can sleep almost anywhere, but I do prefer a flat spot. Nice fire pit, extra long table, and separate bbq. Some other campers told us the poison oak on the trail down to Sand Dollar beach was so profound, it scared us away, so we never actually went there. Instead, we packed up the car and drove to Willow Creek just down the road a couple miles, and that was lovely with easy access to the beach. I would not go here again, as the drive was made long by the bridge being out (we came from Bay Area) and I didn't like the lack of privacy (we were definitely just right in the middle of everything and neighbors right there). Beautiful part of the coast though, and all in all it was a fun time, but I've been to better.

Great scenery, lots of wildlife and a perfect location for accessing Sand Dollar beach which was beautiful.||The campsite amenities were unfortunately inadequate. We didn't expect luxury and didn't think there would be showers but the toilets were closed and replaced with portaloos which didn't flush. Using a non flush loo which is full of excrement is not for the faint hearted!||We stayed in an RV so were somewhat unaffected. Be aware that there is no tap to fill your RV tank if staying here. Its potable water only.
