The whole valley was steaming! This water where we felt it was not hot enough to go in on a cold day but I bet it's perfect in the summer! It was beautiful and peaceful.
We stopped by here in mid September and found the water to be pleasantly warm but not hot, I’d guess in the 90-95F range. It’s extremely easy to get to from 395 as it’s at the exit of a culvert from the private springs on the other side, and it has great views of the valley.
The downsides are that there are constantly cars going by 20ft from the pool, it’s fairly silty and algae covered, and in my case I was sitting it in for five minutes before I found myself covered in dozens of some sort of tiny and biting water bug.
It's not a good spot to soak. There is a bit of a sulfur smell, but the bigger problem is the temperature. I measured it around 78 F and that's in the summer. I think it shouldn't be called "hot creek." Worth stopping by to check it out if you're on the way but don't make it a destination.
The water temp has declined over the years for some reason... Used to be about 99 degrees in the mid-2000s but now down to about 75-77.
Still a beautiful place, just not warm enough to soak in anymore.
The water is just at the right temperature. If you could ignore the smell like spoiled egg (typical for hot springs) and how bad it looks, I think you could soak your feet in the pool.
Little Hot pool which is accessible right off the road. This place is awesome and since Fales Hot springs is a private community that is prohibited to be entered, this pool at just the right temperature (80 to 90 degrees) is perfect in satisfying everyone's road side hot spring needs.
TDLR; Don't bother trying to illegally enter Fales Hot Springs but instead check out this Pool on the side of the road.
