My car started making funny noises on the drive from San Rafael out to Inverness around 9:30 PM. I dropped my car off outside of Cheda’s and left them a voicemail describing the noises that I was hearing. My dad also pointed out that the front left tire seemed low. In the morning Cheda’s checked in with me and let me know what was loose and needed reattaching. They also found a slow leak in the tire. The combined fee of $75 seemed very reasonable to me.
My tire pressure light came on while I was on my way to point Reyes. Stopped by Cheda without an appointment and they squeezed me in to make sure my tires were good. Put me at ease prior to driving out to the middle of no where!
Stopped in last week right at closing time. I had a flat that I changed out myself and the spare was low, they filled it up and checked the pressure on my lug nuts. The nicest people ever :)
What kind people! Gave me some wire with a smile so I could limp my motorcycle home when my exhaust almost fell off. Thank you so much for helping me salvage the day.
We are Inverness residents, and had a previous great experience with them replacing a battery that died unexpectedly. So when our daughter, who was using our 2007 Honda civic hybrid for a few days while we were out of state, told us that the power outlet in it needed to be fixed, we urged her to take it to Cheda's. She did on July 1st, 2023, explained the problem, and told them she needed it fixed that day. The older man said he'd check it out. There was no mention about a charge for that. She came back a half hour later, and paid a $60 bill. Then the cashier informed her that the problem had not been fixed, and to talk to the mechanic. He showed her how he used a simple mechanical tool to check that the part was indeed broken -- it took about 30 seconds -- and then noted they did not have the part to fix it.
So, they knew from the outset that they could not repair it [I presume it would have been simple to check if they had the part or not], but did not tell her that. Then they took a minute to confirm what she knew already -- and charged her $60 for it, BEFORE telling her that they hadn't fixed it!! She immediately let us know about her experience. I am so disappointed and saddened by this -- I feel betrayed by them. We've never been so maltreated by a garage ever. How can one trust a business that, depending on the mechanic present, will treat you fairly or abysmally?
Got a flat on my rental car when we hit a pothole while visiting the area. Friendly local helped me out and recommended I come here, the owner didn’t have the tire I needed but helped me locate a shop that did. Very friendly people! Thank you for your help.
Great business. Hillary the receptionist set up my appointment perfectly and politely. All services were done in time. They keep Good records, like from the person I bought the car from years ago
Cheda's is a timeless garage with a long history in the small town of Pt Reyes Station. I was working in the area and my wheel bearings decided to go out on me. They were very kind and got me up and running the next day. I was very happy, because if they hadn't helped me, I'd be stuck at work for Thanksgiving.
Found a screw in my tire while on a road trip. The tire was fixed in less than 15 minutes. Super friendly staff. Thank you so much for fixing the tire so quickly!
A heart-felt shut-out to Tim and Hillary. The motorbike picked-up a nasty puncture. Tim fixed it, at the kerb, in less than 5 minutes. $25, and back on the road like if it didn’t happen.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were passing through and had a small problem with our car, so we stopped here. Even though they seemed to be very busy, they took the time to check our problem and had fixed it within 10 minutes. Amazing service!
These guys and gals are great ! I was on a motorcycle tour and stopped in to have my tires checked, I received great and friendly service ! I would recommend them to everyone. This is what a garage is supposed to be like.
